More About Baby

Your comments have been so fun and so sweet! Thank you for the support! Now here's a little back story on the pregnancy. I started getting baby fever last winter when Baby Noah Benesh was born. His mommy and I were in a really special Bible study together one summer NINE YEARS AGO (what?!?!). We have hardly seen each other since (they live in Boston) but have enjoyed keeping up through the wonderful world of blogging. Every time I saw a picture of Baby Noah I got the ache. So by Jackson's birthday I was good and ready to try for another baby, but I desperately did not want to be in my third trimester during the horrible, hideous, humid (shall I go on?) Houston heat. I hoped that I could be pregnant in the same season as before so I could wear the maternity clothes I already had and be able to reuse Jackson's clothes if we had another boy. So we waited until the window of opportunity opened and hoped that God would bless my plan to be economical (and covered up with sweaters when great with child).

Sure enough, we found out while we were in San Antonio that another Baby Jones was on the way. I used one of those early detection tests and I was only three weeks when we found out. Once I was five weeks along the nausea set in and I started feeling more confident about the pregnancy. I had been sick until 15 weeks with Jackson, so I think I would have worried if I hadn't been sick this time around. Weeks 6-8 were extremely hard. During that time Janelle and I went to Deeper Still. God gave me so much grace during that weekend, but the minute we landed the anointing was lifted. Seriously. It was rough. For a couple of weeks our house was an absolute wreck and I was very unpleasant to be around. Bless my husband's heart. All I wanted to do was sit on the couch and talk about my misery.

Thankfully, my friend Kay had just walked through this a second time and she had been prescribed Zofran for her morning sickness. I never knew there was anything that worked and since I needed to be at least functioning to care for my two-year-old, I got a prescription too. FYI, Zofran is ridiculously expensive but you can get the generic brand without insurance at Costco for about $30 for 24 pills. It does not take the nausea away but it makes you throw up less. So there you go.

Thank You, Jesus, I am doing better now and expect to have just about another month of not feeling quite right. The mornings are actually my best time of day but around lunch and dinner time it is challenging. I know I need to eat but nothing sounds good. I get tired of eating. Y'all know that is so unlike me! So far I am craving salad and Freebird's burritos (but I've only had two). Freebird's...not surprising. Salad...very surprising.

This is how we told our parents. Jackson and I went to Babies R Us and found a shirt that says "Big Brother." It wasn't that cute, but it did the trick. We invited our parents to join us at the wonderful restaurant dear to the heart of every Texan - Luby's Cafeteria. Weren't we all raised on their fried fish and mac and cheese? Not to mention the Jello? I had dressed Jackson in the Big Bro t-shirt but then I put another shirt over it. I let him get good and messy with the red Jello and then I took him to the bathroom to "clean him up." When we came back to the table he had on his Big Brother shirt. It took my mom about 3 seconds to realize what was going on and then she was thrilled. My dad's way of showing his elation was to say that he thought I looked pregnant when I got out of my car. I'll let him get away with that since he's my dad and since I had on an empire waist dress (from last summer) with some jeans. I love you, Daddy! We quickly left Luby's and headed over to my parents house where we could properly celebrate.

Curt's parents, I'm sad to say, did not get an exciting announcement in the midst of a crowded cafeteria. (How hillbilly was it to tell them at Luby's? I did not even think about it at the time.) Curtis called them on the phone to tell them the good news. What we didn't know was that his sister Lindsay was already 12 weeks pregnant! That little dickens! Of course we are thrilled that we get to be pregnant together. What is more, our little ones will enjoy having a cousin the same age. If we have a boy too I cannot even imagine the fun that will be had on my in-laws' land. It will be craziness!

I have always pictured us having another boy, but at this point I don't have a strong feeling about what this baby will be. I entertained thoughts of pink little dresses when I was throwing up over the toilet when pregnant with Jackson. It's what got me through it. But I quickly became convinced that we were having a son. And the Lord seemed to have "told" everyone around me. Right now I'm up in the air. But I told Curt that if everyone convinces me we are having a girl and then we don't, I will be so ticked! So I am staying neutral. Either way, I know when we find out that I will smile through tears. Assuming this is our last go-round, I will either never have a daughter or I'll never have the second son I always pictured. Something about seeing another little man in Jackson's clothes would be so sweet. Anyway, my main feeling is that WE CAN'T LOSE! We are blessed either way! Thank You, Lord! I'm so glad He is in control. If He gave me the choice, I'd honestly ask Him to make it for me. He knows exactly what we need!

Amanda...Sitting here through tears once again. :)

We told our parents the same kind of way when we were pregnant with our 2nd...they weren't as quick as your momma though.

Praying for you girl. I know that awful feeling of "nausea" as my momma would say. Got on my last nerve. I'd say "MOM...I'm throwing up 270 times a day. I don't have 'nausea.'"

Anyway...I'm so happy for ya.
I wonder how many baby gifts you'll get in SA?? Hope you can still come, because we MUST ooooh and aaaaah over you.

Love,
Fran

Congratulations! I too have a little boy (turned 2 in June) and in April we were blessed with a baby girl! Carter is absolutely adorable with his little sister! It's such a fun age....and having 2 at such sweet (most of the time!) stages just makes it even better!

She's just now starting to laugh and coo at him any time he enters the room....great for his little ego!

Congratulations again!

Your description of Luby's brought back childhood memories of yep, mac n' cheese and jello!! Every Monday night, on cleaning day for my momma, we'd eat at Luby's. Me and my brother started to despise it, but every now and then, I find myself craving Luby's and thinkin' I'll be taking my kiddos there one day too!

I'm so excited for you and glad to have some more details! I am 16 weeks along today with our first baby and have the option of finding out the sex next Tuesday, but I think we're going to wait for it to be a surprise...if I can last that long. :) Although I only know you and Kelly from Kelly's Korner only by the blogosphere, it's fun to be pregnant along with you all! Again, congrats!

Oh, the last two lines of this post are awesome. So true, Amanda!

Can't wait to see if Jackson will be a big sister or big brother! (That's what we say in my family.) (We're dorky like that.)

Congrats! I can't believe I missed the announcement...of course the one day I didn't tune in, you posted something like this!

Fellow Texas girl here (friend of Steph R.) who also grew up eating all the Luby's delights...do you have the Luby's cookbook? It's dangerous. Okra...don't forget the okra!

I'm so glad you learned of Zofran...please tell me the generic form is new though...that would make me feel better about paying $5/pill for it for the first 20 weeks of both my pregnancies!

CONGRATULATIONS!

Congratulations. I love your blog. I completely understand the nausea, hope it ends soon and you able to enjoy the pregnancy.

Thanks for sharing more details... I love how you told your parents, and that it was in a cafeteria made it that much cuter.

Hang in there with the sickness... somehow that passed me by during my 3 pregnancies... I was just totally exhausted all the time, and had to have a pint of Ben & Jerry's New York Super Fudge Chunk about every week :)

Blessings and can't wait to see some baby bump pics...

Congrats again!!!

Amanda - we are TRULY sisters. You know how much I LOVE to eat and for the last 3 months the very thought of food just makes me gag. I have been trying to eat because I know the baby needs it but NOTHING sounds good to me. We don't have free birds (I have been there in TX) but we have Flying Burrito which is much the same idea and it has been all I can think about. It's the only thing I have craved. :-) I wish you were here to eat burritos with me. I am almost 16 weeks and the nausea is just now starting to wane but food still sounds terrible. I guess I'm thankful that I'm not already enormous which I fully expected to be.
And I feel like you - I think if God let me choose the sex - I would make Him do it instead because as much as I picture a little girl - when I picture a little boy - I get a little jump in my heart. It's amazing the way God chooses to form our families, isn't it?

Your title alone makes me so happy!!

I know that whatever God gives you that you and Curtis will be the most wonderful parents to these two...I'm just really so happy for you!

I was wondering, can I use the awesome dip recipe from your blog for the cookbook? I remember it being a staple for you and your Irving friends. It's been awhile since I've read it, so I don't remember. There may be no recipe on your blog and you just talked about it!!

BTW? We SO miss Freebirds! I used to visit our friends the Fergusons in B/CS and would bring a cooler along to take one home to East Texas for Chris. Desperate times! If you want to read a funny story about our friends the Fergusons, go to my blog sidebar for Heather-La Vida de la Gringa. It is very fun! They are actually moving to Alberta Canada to begin a mission church there in the fall.

Sorry for the very long comment!
Have such a wonderful weekend, Amanda!

Beautiful thoughts..."make it for me" brings a tear to my eye. A humble statement before your God who is fashioning this baby boy (I keep saying that!) maybe girl, growing inside of you. And you both will do Galatians 4:19 when you get hold of this baby---you'll be in the pangs of childbirth your whole life that Christ be "formed in him." So sorry to hear about the a.m. sickness thing and pray it is short-lived.

What joy!
And I am so sorry about the morning sickness. I had it for both my pregnancies...one lasted until my baby was BORN and the other lasted 7 months. It was really hard. I felt like I was wearing a toilet around my neck.
Hang in there!

Your line about being ticked is right on... with all of our kids (3, it's not like we have dozens) I've had a hunch but never once did I want to even admit it because I felt like if he/she popped out differently I'd be dissapointed or one day it may sound like I wanted vice versa... It's always fun!!! Congratulations!!!

Ahhh the days of the First Trimester. Sorry you're feeling so sick. The old wives tale says the sicker you are the more likely it's a boy. I always liked the second trimester best. My hair was shiny, food tasted great, and I could still see my feet. Hang in there, Girl. I'll be praying for you.

you are so right, Amanda. and you sound like you've got a great head on your shoulders about it! boy or girl, either way, you will be blessed beyond measure.

I have two children -- and I'm one of those that loved being pregnant, loved labor, loved every single bit of the whole experience. (wait, did NOT love throwing up for 4 months 24 hours a day with both pregnancies). but yes, loved every thing else!! the ONLY thing that helped the nausea with me was sipping ice cold gingerale straight out of the fridge with no ice. and I mean sipping slowly. even with a straw. it helped for some reason. psychosomatic? supratentorial? whatever. it worked for me. both times. and I know what you mean about welcoming it. having had 3 miscarriages, I knew that, so long as I was sick, things were going well in there! :)
Bless you friend,

I'm just thrilled to be the first to comment! So, I better hurry up or someone will beat me to it. ;)

I had my last child September of 2006. She's almost two. She's a tubal -reversal. It had been quite a while....I have two teens daughters almost 18 and 15.

I was dehydrated and hospitalized with the first for three days. I was very sick with the second, but stayed on phenegan. Out cold...

When I became pregnant with Sophie...the sickness came. I ended up on home health on Valentine's Day. That was a blessing. But I was hooked up to an I.V. on and off for a couple of weeks. I had Zofran pumping in me. I, too, had never heard of it. It's great! I recall how hard it was to stay attached to that I.V. I felt helpless. I had to rely on my family and friends, which isn't the end of the world. But when hormones rage, it just makes you feel worse.

I'm glad you are moving through that phase. Please note...Zofran will constipate you! There! I said it....Jut keep the fiber coming.

Can't wait to hear the news of what you are having!

Congratulations!

I live in hot, humid, Richmond, Virginia and I had my first baby in late August. It was miserable. I kept the house so cold that my husband put on a sweater when he got home :) I vowed never to do that again and thank goodness baby #2 arrived in May.

I am sorry to hear that you are sick and hope it passes quicker this time.

Look forward to hearing more.

Like you said - either way you are blessed!!! I am glad you are feeling better. I am so sorry you were sick. During my last pregnancy I was SOOO sick and having to take care of a 3-year-old and a 6-year-old and homeschooling the 6-year-old after 3:00 would be the worst time of the day for me. My hubby would walk through the door after fighting Atlanta, GA traffic to get home and I would be lying on the floor in misery telling him dinner was pop tarts.

I love how you told your parents - very creative!!! So, I guess Jackson will be 3 when this baby comes? Great spacing -all 3 of my children are 3 years apart, and it has worked out well.

I can't wait to hear what the sex of this baby is!! Keep us all posted!

Amanda,

Amen to those last few lines! The Lord sure does know what he's doing and what's best for us.

My family was convinced that my second child was going to be a girl. We had this pattern going on in our family where each grandchild born alternated gender - girl-boy-girl-boy... for 10 different children born to 4 different mothers. My second child is number 11 and finally broke the mold. My sister refused to believe me when we found out our "girl" would actually be a boy. She thought I was joking.

Praise God for our second boy! He is the best thing that ever happened to his big brother! That's a whole other story, but so so true.

All children are a blessing from the Lord! Savor this time. With your little man at home, this pregnancy will pass quickly!

LuAnne platter, now there is a good memory. Haven't been to Luby's in a long time, but talk of fried fish, mac and cheese, and always some slaw (for me) brings back memories. Only thing needed to complete the JELL-O would be the lemon ice box pie they had.

I am so excited for you! A sibling is one of the greatest gifts God can give a person, so I am so excited for Jackson, too.

I remember when our second child was born. Our first child was 23 months and had watched The Lion King again and again. She took her sibling in her little arms and then gave her a big lick on the forehead. It was love!

Those girls have grown to be so close. I see every day what a gift God has given them through each other. And cousins, too. One of my favorite things to do is to get all of my children and their cousins together - bundle of blessings through and through - beautiful.

Congratulations! LOVED the way you told your parents. Too funny about your Dad!

I totally know how you feel about wanting a boy because that is what you know but wanting a girl but just being blessed with either.

When pregnant with my second my entire family refused to entertain the possibility of having a girl. I however, couldn't imagine what in the world I was going to do with a little boy. Well the day he was born all family was beyond thrilled with announcement that it was a boy! I however took WEEKS to be able to say "my son". Not that I wasn't thrilled - I was just so unsure.

Congratulations again and hope the morning sickness passes soon! PRAISE GOD for Zofran! I took phenegran for months with my first. It didn't really make it go away but it made me so sleep I couldn't get sick while sleeping HA! With my second nothing worked so I just suffered through while taking care of my five year old and finishing up my last semester of college. Not something I would every reccommend LOL!

Dear Amanda, I have been reading your blog for a few months now, and I just wanted to say congratulaions, and I will be praying for this new little one! I have 4 myself, and they are ALL a gift...I have 2 of each...I just KNEW my 1st was a girl, I felt like my 2nd was probably a boy, was totally surprised when the ultrasound showed that the 3rd was a boy, and was delighted but not surprised to learn that the 4th and final was a going to be a girl... My point is that whoever is growing in there, boy or girl, you will absolutely just LOVE...and won't be able to imagine it being anyone else...For now, it sure is fun to think up baby names, isn't it? I loved that part! Love and hugs, Michelle in California (totally a stranger, but I love Jesus!) :-)
P.S. BTW, I think you are totally a totally funny, down to earth writer...You make me laugh.

I'm so glad it happened when you wanted it to. I'm one of those who didn't plan so well and am miserably huge and hot here in the DEAD HEAT OF ALABAMA SUMMER!

I remember feeling a twinge of disappointment when I found out Woggie was a boy. I had grown up with a sister and didn't know a single thing about boys except that the clothes were not as cute! Of course by the time we were expecting #2, I only wanted another boy, but knew early on it was a girl.

And while I cannot wrap my mind around mothering a daughter, it's so easy to get caught up in all the cute dresses. And I feel even more assured that our family is complete!

I'm so happy for you!

Reading your post I thought of many years ago when I was three weeks pregnant with my first child, I was getting ready for work and praying and asking God if I was having a boy or girl. I just knew all along that no matter how many children I had they would be boys. God also put in my heart I would have girls but I never had them physically but I have many spiritual daughters! Maybe you will be the first at LPM to have a girl. ;) I know you will be happy either way. I am praying that God will quickly remove the morning sickness so you will feel better and that you can enjoy your food!

I too was deathly ill with all 3 of my pregnancies. Now I have to admit this was many years ago - but one thing I loved and his really helped with the nausea - I would freeze kool-aid in ice cube trays and suck on those cubes for hours. Really helped!
The way our "expecting" daughter told us about her recent pregnancy - her 3 yr old told us to close our eyes (which she is always doing!) and when we opened them - she was waving the pregnancy test wand! Of course, she had NO idea what she was holding!! We were also told with one of our grandchildren with a "big sister" t-shirt as well. We NEVER noticed it and our daughter-in-law finally had to say, "Don't you think her new shirt is so cute!!??" We're just a little slow sometimes! hee!hee!
If your baby is another boy - my solution is have another! We did - we have 2 boys and the 3rd was a girl! Loved it!!!!
Hang it there! They'll be off to school and graduating before you know it! We have our 8th grandbaby on the way!

And we told our parents the same way: with a big bro t-shirt! Except...we didn't have another child yet...so we made our dog wear it! It was a riot:)

Don't assume this will be the last one. I thought I was finished after #2, but when my oldest was 2 and her sister just an infant, she announced to me one day that we WOULD have another baby and it WOULD be a baby brother. One year later our son was born!

You are so much fun! I'm still so happy for you. I recall the dilemma of needing to eat when nothing tastes good. If it's true that we are what we eat (or that we are what our mothers eat), then my son would be made of vanilla Pop Tarts, burritos from a little Tex-Mex place in our little town, and pizza with cheese, tomato, and onion. That's about it. Poor child. It's a wonder he got enough nutrients to grow! But, I remember veteran moms telling me not to stress over it. I can't identify with the salad craving thing, because that's the last thing I was willing to put in my mouth, and I normally love salad! Pregnancy does such weird things to us!

I do love how you told your parents - at Luby's no less! The strawberry shortcake was always my childhood favorite. Brings back memories of lunch after church on Sundays. :)

And Luby's may be hillbilly, but if it's wrong, I don't want to be right.

P.S. Got some therapy in Baby Gap last night...my dad's in town, so you know who bought!

Amanda, I just wanted to shout out an Amen for Zofran! I have recently considered blogging about this little plill myself. I am newly preggers and already need to use it! Congrats on the pregnancy! May the Lord bless you and your family!

Amanda - I was so happy to read about your exciting news! Congratulations! I can't wait to hear all about your adventures with your new little one.
Isn't God so good?!
So what does Jackson seems to think about all of this? :)

When I was pregnant with my first, EVERYONE was convinced I was having a girl. We didn't find out officially, but for some reason we just all thought so. Even the nurse just before I delivered said "Look at the way you are shaped; you are SO having a girl". Surprise. "Callie" (my great-grandmother's name... I really wanted to use it) became our sweet Reed. Now we have two boys and life is fun!! I always thought I would be a girl mommy, but God knows best, of course! Best of luck to you. Here's hoping the sickness goes away very soon!

Too funny:) I can picture the whole thing:)...Aww, your dad is cuteness:)...Oh yes, stay neutral! God knows what's best-He's gonna do that anyway!:)

That is hilarious you told them in Luby's! Was Melissa here for it? I can see you with another boy. I will be honest. I have one of each and the girl is more difficult. Definitely. Boys are just so laid back. She is just so high-maintenance. I hope you get to feeling.

Amanda,
I have been away on vacation for the past three days and just checked in. WOW! I am so happy for you. I know you may not believe this but about a month ago I had the strongest urge to post a comment on your blog asking if you were pregnant. I don't know why but I just had this feeling you were...I know sounds weird. Because it sounded so weird, I didn't do it. Now here you are announcing it and I am just thrilled for you!! Your mama must be dancing with excitement!

When we found out that we were pregnant with Grace, it was right before Labor Day. We were going to be at a family gathering at my parents house with all my siblings. Now the running joke in my family (with 5 daughters and one son) is who got told whatever news first. So, to avoid the "so and so got to hear the news first" I had everyone gather in my parents living room while my mom opened a "gift". It was the "postive" pregnancy test. Wo, when she opened it everyone got to hear the news at the same time.

Congratulations again! I look forward to seeing your sweet face in SA!!

Many blessings,
Kimberly

I read your blog, but have never commented. I LOVE how you told your parents! I told most of my family by inviting them to view my newly created blog. Sorry you are so sick. What Rena Gunther said about the zofran is right on! I ended up in the ER for IV fluids a few times with my last pregnancy. Phenegran works great at getting rid of the nausea, but will knock you out. I alternated the phenegran and zofran.

CONGRATS! I love the last two lines of your post.

Congratulations! We told my parents with a t-shirt when we were pregnant with our second as well! So fun!

And to this day, although I am not pregnant, I still PRAISE GOD for Zofran - it is the sweet nectar of heaven when you are pregnant and sick as a dog. Seriously, everytime I popped on of those fabulous little tablets into my mouth I literally said (sometimes under my breath and sometimes outloud) "Thank you, Lord!" I knew I was thanking Him a lot when I heard one of my girls repeat, "Thank you LORD JESUS!" after me.

I do hope you are feeling more like yourself very soon!

Oh my gosh, I cannot believe you've been so sick! I am so sorry! You know it's bad when you'll put up with the nausea as long as you don't have to throw up. Ugh. Nausea is bad enough.

I'm glad Noah inspired you to have another little one! He is pretty inspiring, if I do say so myself. And too darn cute.

NINE years ago? Gosh, we were just a couple of college kids learning some big lessons. I remember vividly that that was the first time I understood what agape was.

Nathan and I are happy for you and Curt, chica! That little one will be such a blessing!

Freebirds always sounded good to me too-and the salad thing...I stopped liking salad completely until I stopped nursing. Wierd things happen during pregnancy. I took phenergen during the nausea phase-works really well but it knocks you put so it didn't work for during the day (chasing the other kid!) you could ask your doctor about getting it for the night. Hope you feel better and better!

Woo-hoo! I am so tickled for ya! And as someone who grew up on the LuAnn plate of fried fish w/ mac & cheese, I ditto Big Mama's comment. It's our heritage. As is Tex-Mex and all things deep fried.

Thinking pink, thinking pink, thinking pink...

Although, when I think about which has been more difficult to raise...

Aw shucks, you can't go wrong on this one. The Lord's will be done.

I have three boys and a girl.

If you have a boy - look forward to the two of them being thick as thieves. My first two are adorably inseparable.

If you have a girl - be prepared to melt your debit card. You think boy clothes are cute? Just wait until you get to shop in the pinkness. It's out of control.

As for the relationship thing, my boys are so loving and protective over little sis. I LOVE it when they hold her hand and walk her to church. I'm trying hard to freeze that sight in my brain.

You are so right - it's a win/win~!

So thrilled for you, Curt, and Jackson! Sorry about the sickness...I had to take Zofran, too. It does help some. And fifteen weeks was the end of the nausea for me. Praying you'll soon get through these tough days and praying for a healthy baby!!!

Amanda....I just found your blog and I am so excited! I love how you told your mom and dad the news of the new baby! I am excited for you and asking God to help you through the sickies! My nephew Cole is Jackson's age (1 month off) and my niece Kensley is expected to make her arrival in early september, although my sister in law thinks it will be august. So it is so much fun to follow along with you and your little ones as we experience life with ours! Lot's in common!
Ohhhhh...one last thing. I thought it was fun how you listed some of Jackson's new words in a previous post. I have to mention one of Cole's. He has taken to saying a naughty word when he drops something (toys, food,etc..). The first time I heard it I found it so funny that I had to turn away so that he would not see me laughing! Now we are trying to break it! It will help my brother break his bad habits too! Just had to share that one.

Of course, Luby's! It must have been that you wanted to make sure you had that extra selection of food since you're not craving anything yet! That's so fun that you and Lindsay are both pregnant at the same time. My sister and I LOVED it! We both have older girls and younger boys. Holidays will be such a blast for the Jones'! My sis had to take something for her nausea too and it did at least help her make it through the day. I'm so sorry your having to struggle with that while keeping up with little Jackson! He probably says, "Mommy sick?" while patting you on the back. Hang in there, the reward will be divine!

Congrats on baby #2! We just had ours - little Noah - he just turned two weeks old last Friday. I think I just might be content with my two boys...but only God knows that for sure.
Enjoy the pregnancy!

Thanks for sharing with us. Very cool! Oh, and by the way, thanks for reminding me of Freebirds. Haven't had one since the last time I was in Aggieland, which was way too many years ago! I loved those burritos! Freebirds and Double Dave's were my main weekend fare down there. We got a DD's here (amazingly), but (sigh)no Freebirds. Of course, that's probably for the best. LOL

Hope you feel better soon!

Wow Amanda! So neat to read about Jackson getting a brother OR a sister! I was wondering when Baby #2 would be coming around. Hee, hee!

Amanda! Congratulations! I have been out of town for our Jr. High camp all week so I am so far behind on blogging. But, I was actually talking to Jen on Thursday and she told me the news! (I know that is so wierd!)

Anyway, I hope and pray that this pregnancy is wonderful and that the Lord blesses you beyond belief whether it's a boy or girl! How fun!

Congratulations, again!

Oh man, do I know that sick to your stomach feeling or what???

Even though I'm NOT pregnant (praise the LORD for that--I can not even imagine having another baby now), I do still get really nauseous with migraines. I knew Zofran was expensive (and insurance won't cover it), so I never considered it. Thanks for the head's up on the generic at Costco. I'm going to have my dr. call in a prescription there. Woo Hoo!!

Kelli said...

I only wanted Freebird's burritos all through my first trimester and I was throwing up morning, noon, and night. I would stop in at the one on 59 on my way home. One afternoon I even barfed in their parking lot, BUT STILL had to have one. It's something about all that Mexican goodness wrapped into a burrito.

Zofran is BEAUTIFUL thing! :) Glad you are feeling better!

Congratulations! How exciting! Thank goodness for Zofran. I went on it with my 3rd pregnancy. You're right in your description of it. I guess it's mostly used in chemo patients. It works by shutting off the part of your brain that causes nausea and it makes you think you're not sick. Kind of interesting, isn't it. My husband is a doc, that's probably why I find that stuff fascinating! Anyway, wonderful news. Take care, Julie

YEAH!!!! smiling from ear to ear. i knew it would be coming here soon. the past 3 months i've been scanning your blog for the word "baby" and "pregnant" :) he he. wish i could see your sweet glow. love you sis. oh, and i'm rooting for a girl...a little biased though :)

Since God is in control, why are you deciding how many children to let HIM bless you with?

Anonymous said...

Congratulations, Amanda! What a blessing. You are right. Whatever the Lord gives you will be part of HIS master plan. Who knows...it may even be that you have more than two children eventually. Who says you have to stop at two? You may have a whole Texas football team and cheerleading squad to boot! :) He will determine that according to His perfect plan. God bless you in this new pregnancy.

I had a boy first and when I got pregnant with my second, I was convinced it was another boy. I saw the ultrasound that made baby look like a little gourd and pronounced said baby a boy. When I got the mid-term ultrasound I nearly fell off the table when the tech pronounced said baby a girl. Oh how thankful I am to God that I was wrong. So, so thankful.

Hi Amanda! I got in from my family vacation and started checking my blogs...and WOW!! CONGRATS!! I am so excited for you and Curtis and little Jackson! I remember right before I had my second baby wondering if I would love that baby as much as my first! Silly I know now...but I just couldn't fathom loving another person like I loved my first. Of course my heart flooded with mommy love the minute I laid eyes on him! I will have to say too that I think it is much easier having two! The first several months was def a transition but then they became such play mates. I was no longer solely responsible for keeping my first entertained! She had a little buddy and even now they are still very close.
Anyways, sorry for the novel! I got to reminiscing! I am really happy for you!
