Appointment Report

The appointment went well. My OB is in a practice with three other doctors and they have just opened up a new office a few miles from my house. Yeah! I was literally my doctor's first patient in the new space. So we took a picture and everything. Isn't that funny? I was the only one in the waiting room. At the main office there are never less than 20 people in there. It was awesome. The office is so new that they didn't even have a doppler yet, so I had a very quick ultrasound to see Baby's heartbeat. The doctor and nurses weren't even sure how to use the machine, so that was pretty funny. (They have an ultrasound tech at the main office.) I am having some pain in my pelvic girdle (say that outloud - it's fun) that makes it hard to roll over in bed, to get up from sitting down, or to balance on one foot and try to get dressed. So I got that checked out. There's really nothing that can be done, but one of my BFF's is a physical therapist and she told me some things I can do to help it. I told my doc that constantly having this pain makes me worry about dilating prematurely, so he checked me out and eased my mind. Everything is fine. PTL!

I drank the flat Orange Slice and got my blood test, but I won't know anything until they call me. Thanks for praying for my test!

I have not had cake yet, but we did go out for BBQ last night and the three of us shared some peach cobbler with Blue Bell ice cream. Yum, yum, yum! I could have eaten one by myself but the scale I got on was not as friendly as the one I had last time.

Okay, Pregnant Girl is going to take a nap now. Hasta luego.

I'm jealous of that nap!
And I have that pregnant girdle pain too!!!! It scares me. When I sit at my desk for very long and get up - sometimes I think I'm going to fall over. OH DEAR!

Oh, enjoy that nap, sweet Amanda.

I am glad you got some good BBQ and Blue Bell. Man, I miss that here in Colorado!

We'll be headed the Texas way soon...and Blue Bell and BBQ is calling my name.

Praying for your pain to subside and for you to experience no more of it.

I have had the "pelvic girdle" pain with all three of my pregnancies. Even right now as I type this, seeing as I am 4 weeks from delivering this third one! It is a killer and it is soooooo hard to explain b/c you really can't explain how it feels or where it is coming from. You are soooooo right though, it kills to roll over in bed, get dressed, or even shave your legs. What is a pregnant girl to do? :)

Amanda,
I am getting caught up on all the posts I have missed - it sounds like you had a great weekend
I love the part where you said Curtis did well during SS and he was "very attractive" - hehe

I use to despise those glucose tests. I have hypoglycemia - which means when I do not eat I get a bad headache and am very cranky - not fun. The last time I almost GAGGED drinking the stuff - oh it turns my tummy just thinking about it
I am glad it is over for you though
Praying for you and baby girl!
Blessings
Kim

Oh please share what you friend said to do about the pelvic girdle pain!!(-: I can hardly roll over at night! I am 26 weeks and the pain and pressure are are getting unbareable. I know it will get worse from here! Oh btw I am having twins, so the hips are rather sore!
Good luck with your glucose test results! Mine were not so stellar and I am now on meds for gestational diabetes. YUCK! Praying you get better news!(-:

I was thinking about you today. Prayed for you too!

I had a weird pain in my hip this morning. Maybe it was my pelvic girdle. Do I have one of those if I'm not preggo??

I am so glad that everything went weel at the doctor's office! God has his hand on you and your daughter. :) Maybe tonight will be the night for cake but if you can't have cake, peach cobbler and Blue Bell isn't bad.

Continued prayers for you and your sweet family.

Have a great nap.
Love,
Patty

How exciting to be the first patient in the new office! So glad to hear that you and baby girl are doing well...you are going to have so much fun when she is born!
My niece Kensley is growing like a weed! We are getting ready to take our annual family Christmas pictures and it is sooooo much fun to dress baby girl! I am getting her a headband made with a huge bow! Can't wait to see her all dolled up!

Amanda ... I had MAJOR problems with this past pregnancy and the pelvic pain you are talking about was one of the problems I had. The only thing that worked for me was going to a chiropractor. my OB sent me to PT and OT and nothing worked except for the Chiropractor. Granted I was having sciatica issues as well but the grinding pelvic problems was the pits ... the chiropractor really helped. It took a few weeks after birthing for it to go away but it finally did and no more problems. I know what you mean .... rolling over in bed was painful! Praying for you!

Oh Lord let the test say the blood sugar is not high!! I am one of those whose tests have revealed gestational diabetes each time I've been pregnant and it's no fun--don't wish it on anyone!

I had that same pain and noticed today that I still have it.

Scales just aren't all that friendly these days.

My advice after the pregnancy weight gain debacle: don't worry too much about it. I kind of obsessed (like you didn't know). Just eat sensibly and don't do what I did and gain 10 lbs. a month.
;)

Did I ever tell you that I gained a solid 50 lbs.? UGH UGH UGH. I've lost all but 2 lbs., though. Now I just need to tone up.

In my defense, I think my weight gain was partly due to the fact that I felt like I had PMS for 9 months. I really think the pregnancy hormones made me want to eat more. Not that it's a great excuse, but there you go.

I had that pain. Sounds like pubic symphysis seperation pain. I got regular adjustments from a chiropracter and it did help. I hope your pain doesn't get too bad.

You had me at Blue Bell.

Glad your appt. was so easy! Hope the reports are good.

I'm praying your test comes back normal. How fun to be the first in the office...now about that cake!

AKat said...

I hope your test comes back just fine! Peach cobbler sounds really good...I would like to eat some right now! LOL I go to the doctor today, and I'm afraid the scale isn't going to be my friend. Then again, the nurse doesn't make me look if I don't want to; ignorance is bliss!

It is TOTALLY flat orange slice. You are so right :)

Amanda -- glad the appt went well and I'm so sorry about that pelvic girdle (never thought I'd write that in a post) pain.

Just think you're forever immortalized as patient 1! How cool! Thanks for keeping us posted on the pregnancy. It's been a while since I walked this path, but I have a young married daughter and one day I'll probably walk this path with her.
Blessings to you!!!

I'm
Mary from Alabama (the siesta in New orleans) but your blog will only allow me to post with my blogger account. This is the acct I use for my cruise blog and several others

Glad things went okay. Get that nap now, b/c you know in a few months you won't be able!!

I hope you get that cake, friend. Funny, the scale hasn't been friendly to me lately either. So rude!

My sweet ob/gyn used to put that horrid orange drink into the freezer until it was slushy which made it 756 times more bearable. You might want to pass that on to your new doc...Pregnant women everywhere will thank him.

Cobbler sounds ridiculously yummy right now.

yeah for the new office. Having lived in a big city at one time I know how overly crowded those kinds of places can be... Hope things go wel with the glucose... I had the same pain in my pregnancies... soemthimes mine were even pretty sharp. It was all fine, but i understand it being frightening at times. Glad everything else seems to be growing along... have an awesome weekend!! love, Leigh

Umm... how would a "Doppler" be used on a Pregnant girl? Isn;t that a weather machine... I am so confused!
