How am I just now finding out that
Boys II Men is playing at the
State Fair tomorrow? Could I be any more excited? We'll see if Curtis will let us go. We do have their greatest hits CD. Children of the 90's, you know you would love to see them for free with state fair admission! Fletcher's Cornydogs and Motown Philly? How could you pass that up?
Hope he let's you go;) I used to love them! I bet it will be packed! Jackson needs to start learning the words to "a song for mama" teach him young;D
ReplyDeleteIf Dallas wasn't a 5 hour drive and if I'd had more than 30 minutes of sleep last night, I would so get in the car and head that direction.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, when I graduated from high school (1994) the song the choir sang was and "End of the Road/It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday" medley by Boys II Men.
ReplyDeleteI always thought the thin guy in the group was soooo cute!
Hey Amanda,
ReplyDeleteThanks for this!! Because of your post, I check out their link (myspace) and found that they're actually going to be in St. Louis October 4th. How cool is that? Although I'm not a child of the 90's by any stretch of the imagination, I do have quite a few friends who are. Gotta get on the phone tonight. Woo Hoo!!
~Cheryl
Lol! I have all of their songs playing in my head now...and thoughts of panic associated over 6th grade dances! :)
ReplyDeleteNow I can't quit singing "The End of The Road."
ReplyDeleteLOVE them.
LOL!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYea my graduation song, " End of the Road", you would think 1999, would have had something more in tune with the times...oh well:)
ReplyDeleteThey were in Atlantic City when I was up in Nj this summer, like a day after I left lol.
Do you remember the Full House episode with Stephanie doing the " Motown Philly" dance?
Oh and Philly is Philadelphia, in case you didn't know, I lived 10 min from there for almost 10 yrs lol:)
Be Blessed;)
I remember the Texas State Fair when Texas and OU played (I was a Longhorn for two years, before marrying my Aggie husband and finishing at A&M--he said I got saved then). We always had SO much fun! Funnel cakes! and Rides! And funny looking animals :) and that was just the tip of the iceburg.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your concert, if you go!
Amanda,
ReplyDeleteThis isn't to post but I wanted to update you on the MS test. Great news no MS! I have a SEVERE B12 deficency. It is so low that is was causing nerve damage, vision problems, twitching, etc. This can all be corrected with B12 shots. I just wanted to update you. I haven't blogged in awhile for obvious reasons. I need to do another post but I have to wait for my husband to download some photos off our digital camera. Am I co-dependent or what?
Thanks for your concern. I was truly frightened and my faith was stretched. I was humbled and broken before God. By the way I will be speaking at a conference in Nashville on Oct. 13th. If any of your Nashville friends want to go I'll post some info. I think the church is called Westhill Baptist. I'm not sure.
Thaks again,
Kara
sorry, but i'm a little young for boys II men. but i do love the amazing duet they did with michael buble on his newest cd. gotta love michael buble. :)
ReplyDeleteyes girl, we will pray that curtis is enlightened to the significance of one such event. i was only 6 in 1990, but much like miss shelly's response, they definitely were to blame for all "love-interest" (how much can there be in the 6th grade) awkwardness during the pre-teen years...
ReplyDeletesuddenly my mind is filled with other school dance classics like "waterfalls" :)
Love it! Boys II Men is exactly what I needed to brighten my day since I'm so excited to be awake at 5:30 on a Saturday morning. Man, I need to teach these girls about sleeping in on Saturdays!
ReplyDeleteOh, I would soooo be there! We went to an MC Hammer/Boyz II Men concert once and being the psycho fans that we were, we followed the bus to their hotel so we could try to get a glimpse. We went into the hotel and actually met them while they were playing pool (we waited a long time before going into the hotel b/c we didn't want to seem too anxious.) Definitely a highlight of my teenage years!
ReplyDeleteI groove to "On Bended Knee" on my 'pod all the time. Wish I could remember that boy's name that made me like the song so much! :-) I'm pretty sure he broke my heart!
ReplyDeleteSo your mom told us you get to go, How cool:) Have fun girl:)
ReplyDeleteAng
We went to one of those concert things where they have 50 different artists and they all do 3 or 4 songs. The headliner - Boys II Men. But the real reason we went - O-Town was performing! Oh, I am such a dork. But my husband and I loved the original Making the Band and had to go see them before the inevitable band breakup. :)
ReplyDeleteok i had no clue that boys II men were even around. that is hilarious. instead of LOL I guess I will use your moms new phrase GAL (grinning a little)
ReplyDeletei was totally there today! i hope that you were able to be apart of the great experience of seeing boyz II men in concert! it was quite the blast from the past!
ReplyDeleteBoys-2-Men?????? Oh my gosh! Might be worth the 3 hour drive just for that! LOL! Do you know that I have lived in Tx. all my life, 3 hours from Dallas, and have never gone to a state fair. I'm not even sure I should call myself a Texan right now. :( Eat a corn dog for me girl!
ReplyDeletelove me some Motown Philly!
ReplyDelete"Motown Philly's back again
Doin' a little east coast song
Boyz II Men going off
Not too hard, not too soft"
(I wish I was just a child of the 90s...)
blessings,
Karla
Amanda!! We so could have gone together and enjoyed the show. It was great seeing you guys. Hope ya'll had a great day!
ReplyDeleteLove Boys II Men! I hope you had a great time!
ReplyDeleteThat is too funny! This brought back memories back of me trying to rap to every part of their songs you could rap too! Ha!
ReplyDeleteBoyz II men, ABC, BBD-The east coast family! I cannot believe I remember that. Right on beat too! Oh, those days-the good, the bad, and the ugly! I had that BIG 80's teased hair going on! :)
Hope you have fun!
Much love,
Angela
SO, I have to know...how was the music (and of course, the food??) Hope it was great, I keep saying I am going to take Sara up there one year- any excuse to go to Dallas area- I love that city!
ReplyDeleteHi Amanda,(you don't have to post this, I just didn't know your email address)
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to stop by and share that you were on my heart this morning and this verse jumped in my mind, so I'll share it...
Gal 6:9-10
9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
NIV
Hope it blesses your day!
Sue
PS I'm doing a giveaway if you want to stop by.
I realize you're busy, you know being a mommy, a wife, employed, and all that stuff, but I was really hoping for some pictures from the BoyzIIMen (did I spell that right) excitement!! Which was better? The concert or the cornydogs?
ReplyDeleteYou are bringing me back to Juinior High....oh what fun! I am thinking of that crazy Valentine's dance at Truitt Jr. High...we all had big, crazy hair....and no boys to take us ;(
ReplyDeleteOh I love the State Fair. We start at 10:00 with a corn dog and coke. We drink half the coke and eat the corn dog. We then proceed down the Midway for some Jack fries and drink the other half of the coke.
ReplyDeleteThus begins a perfect day of walking our legs off, laughing ourselves silly, and swearing that we will not eat any grease for the rest of the year.
;0) zoom
Did you have fun?!
ReplyDeleteOh I know you did.
I am craving a corndog now and singing some boys 2 men in my head!! :)
Kim
