This is why we love the web

Last week I won my first blog drawing! Yay! It was at The Bargain Shopper Lady Blog, which is run by my friend Lori. I am not a skilled bargain shopper, and this web site is like Cliff's Notes for people like me. She does all the hard work and hunting, and just about every day she shows me a really good deal (like an Internet coupon code) that I can take advantage of. I get so excited when I see an update from her site on Bloglines. (Bloglines is great, by the way.)

The Lord loves me because I am totally obsessed with Bath & Body Works' Lavender-Vanilla "Sleep" line, but I have a hard time splurging on things like this. (I'd rather have a new shirt.) I was so excited to win Lavender-Vanilla hand soap and lotion for my sink! Here's your visual.

I also won a Lavender-Vanilla gift bag at bunco a few months ago. Now I think I have most of the products in that line! Give Him praise! He cares about my dry, chapped skin that hasn't recovered from the week of insane handwashing and sanitizing when we had that stomach bug. I really need to heal before we go to Wyoming next week. That place always wrecks my skin!

If you are in the market for some fun baby booties, a tutu, or an apron, check out my friend Bethany's blog and Etsy store. (Bethany and I went to high school together - almost 10 years ago. What!?!?) She has some super cute stuff and I have never seen a better deal on a tutu. Those boutiques are insane! My personal fave is the rocket ship thermal tee for little boys.

My next baby (don't go jumping to conclusions) will be getting these.

And if for some strange reason I ever have a girl, I guess she'll just have to settle for a tutu. Dern!

  6. I have learned so much about bargains and being cheerfully frugal (as opposed to long in the face grumpy-pants about it) since I started blogging. And I've won some cool stuff too.

My favorite Bath and Body Works aromatherapy product is the jasmine vanilla. It's a perfect fall/sweater scent.

  9. this is cute stuff. The Lord is so good when He just delights us!! I love it. I was stressing over getting an oil change since the funds have been getting tight and the Lord gave me a random gift card to Walmart and I got my oil changed. I just love how He provides for us and He doesn't have to. Those shoes are some Paul Bear Bryant pattern...not that I am an Alabama fan. :)

  11. Thanks, Amanda, for all the great info! I love coming across new gift ideas. I try to be as original and creative as I can but if I don't start early on the shopping it is difficult! Fortunately I'm almost finished with my Christmas shopping! Yea!!

  12. I have recently just fallen in love with Bath and Body Works stuff. I wouldn't allow myself to go in there before because of their prices. Too late now! Have you tried their wallflowers? You'll be hooked.

  16. Thanks for comments! I'm getting excited about moving to Katy, and I'll have to check out the bible study. By the way, Jackson's coat and boots? too cute! I bought my little man two coats on clearance last Spring, but can you even wear a coat in Houston???

  17. Love the Bath and Body works Lavender Vanilla. I also have the linen spray for sheets and towels. Love it! I don't know the brand name off hand but I buy it at Central Market. It is Lavender laundry soap and there is also the fabic conditioner as well. It makes your sheets smell as if they have been hanging outdoors to dry. When I had surgery several years ago lavender was my fragrance of choice during the 6 weeks recovery.

When you are in Houston there is a Bath and Body works outlet in the Katy Mills Mall. You can get everything at a deeply discounted price.
