Cursed Apple

"...She took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat." (Genesis 3:6 KJV)

Two words: stomach virus.

Around 4:30 this afternoon I started feeling icky. It was an icky that several hours later turned into a very, very icky. In a moment of brilliance, I thought perhaps I needed to eat something healthy to make it go away, so I grabbed an apple. Oh, wretched woman that I am! My son is on an apples-only diet (his choice, not mine) and he couldn't resist the apple. So I bit off some large pieces and gave them to him. Then my husband, who was sitting next to me, wanted to share the family apple. We all ate of the apple. The cursed apple. It's not that I think the apple made me sick, but I think it might make my guys sick. And boy do I not want that. At least I went first so I won't be conflicted if and when I clean up after them.

Well, I just took a couple Dramamine pills to knock myself out and they are kicking in. I am off to dreamland, hopefully not to wake up until daylight. Lord, help us.

oh no!!! I will pray for you guys right now- by His stripes we are healed in the Name of Jesus! If it makes you feel any better you were right, I do have an eternal case of the hives or so it appears. I am in Breckenridge, CO with my family and I think the cold is making it worse. Love to you- hope you feel better when you wake.

Oh Amanda! I am so very sorry and hope that you heal quickly and your sweet boys do not get the dreadful disease.

Please pray for my town. We have been hit so hard by tornados tonight and I'm just in shock over how my area of town was spared but Union University was just hit so very hard and we have friends who lost their homes entirely.

Things are things and can be lost so quickly. We still praise Him in these storms and are grateful for the precious gift of life.

Be well sweet friend.
Love,
Fran

Our family never seems to share food until right before someone gets sick. It drives me crazy. Then I am feeling guilty and worried that everyone else will catch the "kazoos." Hope ya'll feel better soon.

Oh, NO Amanda! There is nothing worse than a stomach virus in my opinion. I pray you are feeling well soon.

Ugh. That's absolutely the worst. Praying that you are feeling better this morning and your guys don't come down with it!

Oh no - the stomach virus. I pray you don't get it. I had it for 6 days a couple of weeks ago, it is not a kind bug.

Oh i hope you feel better - how awful!

OH NO!

Here's hoping you feel better after a good night's sleep. And that your boys have some mighty strong immunity built up to withstand the evil apple.

But can I just say -- your ability to link your illness back to original sin is truly inspiring?!? Way to use that Bible knowledge, girl.

I'm praying for your speedy recovery from the ick :) I am also praying your boys don't get it. How awful it is to be sick. Just try and get some rest sweet Amanda.

I just did this myself! (Not the apple part, but the sickness.) Ended up in the hospital in need of IV fluids, steroids, and an antibiotic shot in my rump. Strep Throat, Stomach virus and a UTI, have mercy!

I hope you get through it with just the virus, and much quicker and easier than I did! Sometimes the family members avoid it even after apples, let's hope it's so!

I've never heard of taking Dramamine... how soon after the volcano erupts can you try this drug, I'm wondering...? What a nice thing to know about- it's not hard to keep it down on a weak stomach?

I so sympathize with you. I was there last week and my whole family joined in the "fun." A word of encouragment, it does seem to only last a day. What a way to lose a pound or too!

I had that whole stomach bug week before last. It was most unpleasant, but I don't think I shared it with anyone. I sure hope you're feeling better and the "men" are doing ok!

Bless your heart! I remember once inadvertently drinking out of my very sick daughter's cup. I mean, it was only a little sip! My mother in law told me I was going to get sick, too. C'mon, what did she know? God knocked me off that high horse with a sinus infection and strep throat so bad that my darling mother in law had to come over and take care of me in the midst of my misery.

Praying you and yours are better very, very soon!

I hope you are feeling better! I just had to comment and let you know how much I love your blog! Thanks for sharing it! I found it from another blog and just thought "baby bangs" sounded cute and wanted to check it out. I have read it several more times just for fun because my youngest child is about the same age as your little boy! Anyway, since I put sitemeter on my blog, I am amazed at the people who read from different states and I have no idea who they are! So, for that reason I have started commenting and making myself known on blogs that I like to read. I just feel like it is the right thing to do! :) So, hope you don't mind another new reader.
Have a great day!

Isn't it so much worse to be sick when you're the mommy? I'm so sorry! Hope today is better for you!! (Oh! And I thought you were amazing and gracious to answer the when-are-you-having-another-baby question on LPM. You're much nicer than I am.) :)

Oh yuck! That's not a pleasant experience! Hopefully by now you're healthy and so are your men!

LOL! I was taking a quick break - cathching up on some blog reading AND eating an apple....of all things - when I came upon this post! I LOVE apples....I sat here for a moment - looked at the apple suspiciously - prayed a quick prayer over the remainder of it - and charged on - devouring that yummy thing! LOL

Hope you are feeling better!

Hey Amanda,
Hope you are feeling better. Several around here are going through round 2 of the flu or the stomach bug.

On a different note, lip plumpers...Laura Mercier's don't sting and feel weird. They are about the only ones I like for the very same reason as yours.
