Please Pray
Will you please lift up Sherry C., a friend of mine from college, today? She is only 7 days post-partum, having had her first baby girl last week. Yesterday Sherry's sister's family found themselves in some kind of awful crisis with their newborn son and they need lots of prayer. Unbelievably, on the same day, Sherry's best friend's family lost their 3-month-old baby daughter completely unexpectedly. My heart is so heavy for all these families. I cannot wrap my mind around having a traumatic crisis over my newborn, losing my child, or watching my sister and my best friend go through these trials simultaneously (while caring for a 7-day-old baby). The fear, despair, and sadness would be overwhelming. Please pray for God to be near to these precious families dealing with devastation. Thank you so much and may God bless you for bearing the burdens of people you do not know personally.
Yes, please pray. I have cried my eyes out for her and everything going in her family and friend's life this morning. I cannot even imagin going through all of this, much less dealing with the hormones of having a new baby along with recovering from a c-section.
ReplyDeleteI am praying along with you.
"The Lord has come to bind up the brokenhearted."
Amanda,
ReplyDeleteI will begin praying for them now!

ReplyDeleteOh, Amanda. I will pray for your friend. I can't even begin to imagine what she must be going through. How unfathomable.
ReplyDeleteThe blog world is amazing. It has now become a network of prayer warriors, too. I, also, know the Moore girls (My hubby and I went to college in their hometown and their parents were leaders in our college church group!)and am joining with you in prayer. Our God is so big.
ReplyDeleteOh my!! I'm praying!!
ReplyDeleteAm praying now! I too can't even begin to fathom the pain that they are going through... my heart just breaks hearing that... Oh Lord Jesus touch those precious families... wrap them in your embrace... let them feel your presence in ways they have never felt before!
ReplyDelete(my brothers little boy (11) was in a skiing accident two weeks ago and has been in a coma and some precious siestas (who have no idea who I am) have been praying for him... it has so touched my heart... the beauty of the body of Christ... it has been the most beautiful gift! I will be honored to have the privilege to pray for these sweet families!)
Although I don't know these families personally, my heart is heavy for them. I, too, cannot imagine such pain and loss. Prayers are being lifted at this very moment!
ReplyDeleteI will pray. Bless these precious families as they go through what is inconceivable to us all.
ReplyDeletePraying for your friend and those close to her. I have just gone through this with two friends at church. One lost her baby the week before he was due, the other a seven month old due to SIDS. It is heartbreaking and so hard to understand. But I can testify that the Lord will provide and see these families through. He will give grace that is sufficient for them.
ReplyDeleteHeavenly Father, You know the needs of this family. You know every single detail. I ask now that You would touch them in only the way You can. Father move in power over Sherry as she adjusts to being a parent under such tragic circumstances. Help her to know YOUR peace, YOUR hope, YOUR joy, even in the midst of the storm which seems to surround her. I also ask for Your perfect rest to come over her during the times she can sleep. I pray that You would especially touch her mind, that she might be able to truly rest. In the name of Your precious Son, Amen.
ReplyDeleteI am so praying for this family. My heart aches so badly for them.
ReplyDeleteOh goodness, right before I came here, my cousin (lives in College Station) emailed me a prayer request to pray for her friend, which is obviously your friend's sister. Mercy, my heart aches for all involved. Obviously the cyber prayer chain is working...
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry. Prayers going up.
ReplyDeleteI just cannot imagine. I will pray for them.

ReplyDeleteFather, intercede for these dear ones suffering. Only You can know the needs. Our prayers are lifted up to You, Our Deliverer. Be an ever present help to them during this sadness. Hold their hands and their hearts through this. Thank You that You are our Hope. In Jesus Name. Amen.
I will be praying for all families involved. What heartbreak. -Angela
ReplyDeleteI was reading all of this and praying and thinking about the song "How Beautiful." The Body of Christ is beautiful. It's so awesome how we can pray and feel so strongly for someone we don't even know. I pray that the Lord Jesus pours His peace out to all of these families in need.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Valerie
Oh Amanda, this story just breaks my heart. I am blubbering just reading through their blogs. She was such a beautiful baby girl. You know, this is when it is hard to be a Christian. When horrible tragedies like this happen you wonder, "WHY?" I wonder that still about Dave's accident. Why him, when at that time so soon in our marriage, why hasn't he been able to regain the beauty of his voice. I don't know the answer to those questions or to why this happened to such a beautiful baby and family. I do know that God doesn't give your more than you can handle, but is sure seems like he pushes you as close to the breaking point as possible.
ReplyDeleteI will be praying for both families. My heart breaks for them but know this will one day seem more like a vague and horrible memory than a reality. What a heartbreaker!
So many prayers going out to them. I can't even begin to imagine. I prayed and held my belly where my own child is right now.
ReplyDeleteMay God heal them and hold them up.
Yes, I am praying for the very of breath of God to breathe His life and strength over each one of them. I am praying to the one who has compasion on all He has made, the One who strengthens the weak and is attentive to those whose eyes are on Him.
ReplyDeleteJust popping in to check on your friend and her family. Continuing to lift them up.
ReplyDeletePraying for your friends.
ReplyDeleteKelli
Praying for them both ... When I went this same scenario, one of best friends whose babies (2) also died said, "Jai, just know that sometimes all you can do is take it minute by minute. Don't even try to conquer the day, just take things minute by minute and then move to each hour and so on."
ReplyDeleteI didn't understand at the time how much this would really help me through my grief with my daughter Denham.
Again, I will be praying.
Praying.
ReplyDeleteI just hopped over there and am devastated for them. What a tragedy.
Thank you for letting us know!
That is horrible news!!
ReplyDeleteI can not imagine what those families are going through. I am sick to my stomach for them!
I will keep them in my prayers!
Kim
I will be praying for your friend. I'm so sorry to hear that these families are struggling with what should be joyful times in their lives. The loss of a child is so devestating. I will be praying.
