Had to Share

I'm sorry, but is this not outrageously cute? Christine brought this outfit from Old Navy by today. Thanks, Aunt Fitine! Janelle and Sunni, I know y'all are happy for me right now.

Please, God, let her feet be small enough to fit in these! I pray she does not inherit the Moore feet. Jones feet, Lord, Jones feet!

Look at my happy boy with his first train set. I ended up putting the track away because it was frustrating him, but he took Thomas to his Fisher Price spiral car ramp and was as happy as could be!

PS - Check out those eyelashes. Baby Girl will be so grateful one day if she gets those!

  2. So blessed! Can't you just see her filling out those little jeans with her tiny diaper?
I always laugh at myself, that I LOVE to stockpile precious baby oufits when one is on the way, but as soon as they do arrive, I can hardly stand to keep them dressed because I want to see all of those tiny baby parts!
Enjoy every moment in the moment.

  3. amanda! that outfit is so cute!! your baby-girl is stylin' already.

i was laughing about the feet-prayer. i can relate...my feet are a 9 1/2 (although I ask for both a 9 & 9 1/2--because somtimes they fit--my left foot gets me everytime because it is a tad bigger).

did your feet grow before you did? i think my feet were a size nine when i was about 12 - 13 and i had still had at least 3 - 4 inches to grow upward! it made my feet look enormous. the Lord was good to me though because i never realized it--even though my friends found it great material for jokes! He protected me so graciously...but later revealed it though pictures. :)

ps. thank you for your sweet response from my other lengthy comment!

  4. How precious! I might just have to go visit Old Navy and pick that outfit up for Kensley!
Love the look of happiness on Tachi's face! Too bad he was getting frustrated with the track!

  5. Clothes = Oh my stinkin' marie gosh. I mean really? Really. Too much for me to take in. Look at those shoes for crying out loud.

Eyelashes = Yes, she would be very, very grateful.

  7. CUTE, CUTE, CUTE!!! You are going to so love having a girl to dress up! Start investing in hair bows now, as you will need LOTS because lots will be lost as soon as they are able to reach for them. Girls are a blast to have! I love boys too, as they are very near and dear to a mama's heart!

  8. Pink argyle. There's nothing better!

  9. Ohmyword. That outfit is absolutely too much. Makes me crave the days when I could dress my two little cuties, although even at 9 and 11 I think they would still go for those shoes!

  10. In our family, all the brothers got the thick hair and long eyelashes. My 7yo came home the other day totally distraught because his buddies were teasing him about his long eyelashes (who would ever think??) I told him, "Honey, if that's all they can find to tease you about, then you're doing pretty good!" Sigh. If it's not one thing...

  11. I love the shoes!

  12. Can those shoes be any cuter?

  13. Those little loafers are so cute I can hardly stand it.

Why do little boys get the best eyelashes? I can only pray that the baby girl we're expecting gets her brother's eyelashes or she will be so jealous! It wouldn't be fair.

Our son loves his train, but yes, it does frustrate him sometimes and he messes it up. I went a little overboard with a huge set and accessories - after recovering from Thomas the Train sticker shock! Now I wish I'd bought him a more basic track set that I could super glue to a big piece of board and stick in his train table until he's old enough to enjoy the more deluxe/complicated version.

Come to think of it, it's not too late. Maybe I should still do that.

    Hope you're feeling well!

    That sweater is adorable!

  19. yes!! baby girl clothes are the cutest!! i have an 8 year old daughter and 2 sons- 6 and 4-- and by far it is still more fun to shop for my girl. i keep a gift closet full of baby gap clearance items and sure enough it was put to good use when my next door neighbor found out she was pregnant w/ her second (she thought she couldn't get pregnant). her only child is a 12 year-old son and she found out she is having a girl!!! talk about the fun she'll have getting the precious girl clothes.

frustrations about train tracks definitely have been experienced at our house-- my parents bought a train table for the grandkids with the track glued down- less frustrations for sure that way but also no imagination used to build the track...when my older 2 kids reached about 5, they were able to play really well with the train and the tracks without knocking everything down. my four year old still wants to play really rough, thus everything my 8 year old build falls down resulting in lots of tears and the train track gets put away!

  20. Oh! Meant to add that my son is the only one in the family (for now, anyway) to get the long eyelashes. Is that not fair, or what?

  27. My baby girl has those same shoes and my boy has the same train set! He played by himself in his room for over 30 minutes this morning with it. YEA!!! Also about the shoes, my baby is 4 months old so I got the 3-6 months and they are HUGE on her! It may be a year before she can wear them, so you should be good!

  37. Oh how I love those shoes. They are just too cute. I hope you have the same luck as me. My boys got my feet (wide, big, Fred Flinstone feet) and my daughter got dainty, beautiful thin feet. Woo Hoo!! It also means she can't steal any of my shoes to wear. I'm loving it.

Oh Amanda, you are in for the ride of your life girlfriend. And let me tell you Old Navy has some wonderful baby girl clothes!!!

I'm so enjoying living vicariously through you right now.

    Much love,

  39. Those are the cutest little girl shoes I've seen in a long time!
She's gonna be looking so adorable in that outfit.

I posted about a baby shower I went to yesterday for a baby boy. I put a picture of the cutest little boy shoes on there. There are so many adorable baby things out there.

Oh, and yes Baby Girl needs those eyelashes. I've never thought it was fair for boys to get such great lashes.

Oh...I'm hoping to be a grandma one of these days in the near future. ;) (hint, hint....Kristen)

Glad to see Jackson enjoying his train set. He's so cute!

  54. Lovin the outfit, Lovin the lashes! Hang in there. Curtis will be home soon. Rodney is gone to Atlanta all this week and I dread parenting alone. The sharing thing is an issue with us right now too. I think it is just a phase they all go through. I focus on the stealing it out of another kid's hands. I absolutely do not allow Tobey to do that and I make him give the toy back and apologize. If he won't playtime is over for him. And if there is a big issue over a certain toy I just put it up and out of sight. It's frustrating but they all struggle with it. They can't help their nature. It is just our jobs to help them see that it is wrong. Hope that helps some!

  55. My google reader suggested I take a look at your blog today- totally randomly- but I'm glad I did! I have a 2 1/2 year old son and a 10 month old daughter and it is always nice to read about people in the same place in life as me, to encourage and help me out! Thanks! We're also in Texas (Waco actually) We've lived overseas and my husband is a minister. Small world, eh?! I'll be checking in on you often to see if you have any words of wisdom on disciplining the 2 year old boy:)

  59. Just checking your blog for any updates today...my son, Noah, looks over my shoulder (pointing to the picture of Jackson)..."Who dat, mommy?"

    I said, "That's Jackson Jones."

Noah: "I want to hee (see--Noah leaves out the initial s on everything) him."

(so, I scroll down some more)

Noah (after seeing the photo of Jackson playing with the track: "I wanna go hee him...right NOW! I wanna play wif him!"

So--now my kid is having a fit wanting to play with Jackson...it's a shame I don't have enough frequent flyer miles to get to Houston! :)
