  1. Since you've said before that you wanted to cap the baby-having at two children, I SO hoped you would have a girl.

I can't even begin to tell you what a joy my girl is to me. You will love her with all the energy of Jackson but with totally different methods. If that makes any sense at all....

Congratulations!! I KNOW how excited you are!:)

Jackson is going to be such a wonderful big brother, Curtis a tender, loving daddy, you a wonderful momma...and if your mother and sister have anything to do with it this will be one SPOILED and stylin' chickie! Many prayers to you tonight for a safe delivery of Baby GIRL Jones into this world!

YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES!!! I was soooooooo hoping you'd have a girl! Did you nearly fall off the table when they told you? I *think* you were fairly certain it was a boy, right? I was the same way!! But once I got the "yes ma'am" about the girl I literally bought anything that was pink. My dd's little closet full of clothes was monochromatic to say the least.

I am so unbelievably happy for you, Amanda. To get to experience and boy AND a girl is a true blessing from God. You are going to be blown away . . . . .

Lots of love from the Evergreen state :-)

  57. Congratualtions!!!!

Okay, this is weird.....I called it earlier today (with my friend Valerie) and girl it is. That's three for three for me. Weird.....or maybe just a fluke. :)

My daughter in law is due Jan. 3rd with a boy.
My daughter is due Feb. 18th with a girl.

    GOD IS GOOD!!

    Again, congratulations!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Congrats Amanda!!
I'm finding that the whole girl thing is a big switch, especially after a rough and tumble boy, but it's more fun to dress her than it was Jak :)

  60. So happy for you!! I have two boys and a girl and they are all joys, but in different ways. So glad you'll be able to experience both! (The only con: it's much more expensive to have a girl...the clothes are hard to resist!)

    ReplyDelete
  61. I am delurking to say- paint the world pink!!! Congratulations! I am the mother of three: a boy and two girls.

When we found out our youngest was a girl I looked at my husband and said, "What are we going to do with 2 girls?" My husband (who has 2 brothers) responded by saying, "I didn't know what to do with one let alone two girls." Our oldest (our boy) piped up from the back seat and said, "We will feed her, bathe her, love her and pray for her." Out of the mouth of babes!

All that to say...CONGRATULATIONS! I am very happy for your growing family! Praise the Lord...every good and perfect gift is from Him!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Yeah! A sweet little girl. Congratulations!

    ReplyDelete
  65. Congratulations on your baby girl! Kept checking and wondering and oh my! A girl! Wait til you hold her like a girl. It's so His plan to wrap His glory in a girl for you. Just read a little bit ago Ezra 7:27,28 God has put into your heart to bring honor to Him---and you both so do!---HE has extended his good Favor to you both---yes HE has---and the good Hand of your beautiful God is on you both, take courage. We all believe with you that He chose you out of all the mothers in the whole world for this baby girl.

I am de-lurking today (I've been reading your blog for well over a year now) to say congrats!! I just knew you were going to have a girl!!!! What a blessing to have one of each, though I know you would have been happy either way. God bless you and I am glad to hear your house was safe after Ike.

  115. I have already told you had completely stinkin' excited I am for you. I have tried many times to put into words how different it is to love a boy and a girl. It seems like you would love all your children the same, but you don't. You love them in equal amounts but it's a different feeling for each. I seriously can't wait for you to experience both.

Oh, and praying that this sweet one will be your "easy" one. M is sure not mine, but surely we each get one easy one. Or one that's not a quite an entire handful...maybe just 4 fingers. Maybe? I don't know...but it will be so much fun finding out.

Shall I dedicate a section of M's closet to clothes being saved for Baby Girl Jones? You know I will...I'll throw a few boys on top just in case. She's a Moore baby so we know she'll have some hair!

    ReplyDelete
  116. Yeah for a baby girl! We are enjoying our girl and the boys are absolutely precious with her! The shopping is soooo much more expensive though :)

    Have fun thinking pink! :)

    ReplyDelete
  117. Oooohh I NEEDED some GOOD NEWS today! :) How wonderful for the sweet Jones family!

Jackson will be the sweetest big brother.

    Congratulations to you and Curt!

    ReplyDelete
  118. Jenn was over when your Mama sent out the word to the "village". Was SO excited!!

Erin said last night at dinner to the Hamms that he's gonna have to give Curtis some tips on the girl thang! He said, "you just wait bubba...you just wait!" Was hilarious.

Love you and so excited for a baby girl ♥

    ReplyDelete
  119. I'm so Happy for you all!

And that she'll have a big brother to look out for her and protect her her whole life -- what a sweet blessing.

My little girl has a big brother too and I just love seeing her go to him and ask him about things (he makes up half his answers. You know - he's teaching her about life. :) And it makes me so proud when I see that 5th grader looking out for his 2nd grade sister at school.

Yours will be the best of friends too. Pray over their relationship starting now. (I did that from the day I found out I was pregnant with my second).

(and better pray over your checkbook too while you're at it -- oh my.
Precious little girl clothes are waaaaay to easy to shop for!)

    ReplyDelete
  120. SOOOOO excited for you!!!

    ReplyDelete
  121. Dang.

    He was right.

(My sister was hoping he'd be wrong, because she's currently pregnant with her second, and she was hoping for a girl. But according to my freaking husband, she's having a boy. Eleven out of 11.)

CONGRATULATIONS! I will resist buying cute baby girl clothes for you and sending them to LPM.

    Must... resist....

    ReplyDelete
  122. Oh. You are going to have such a blast shopping for a little girl! I wish I would have had more spending money when my girls were babies but it still was fun - even on a budget.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Amanda, I only know you thru this blog (and your Mom's), but I can't tell you how excited I am for you & Curt and Jackson! I was praying for you one day shortly after finding out you were expecting, and I had a mental picture of Jackson being a protective big brother to an adorable little princess! I only wish you could have recorded everyone's response to the news - it must have been priceless.

Congratultions, and much love to all of the Jones family!

  131. Congratulations! A little girl, how wonderful! I only have one boy, and I spent plenty of money on his clothes. If it had been a girl...I'd still be paying it off! They just seem to have cuter clothes for girls. I can't wait to hear about all the differences between boys and girls.

  134. Congratulations on your news. I have 3 boys, ages 12, 10 and 8 and a little girl who just turned 5. Girls are so, so, so different from boys, but they are all definitely gifts from God.

  135. Woo Hoo!! You are so going to love having a daughter. What a blessing.

  136. Yeah!!! Congratulations! You have SOOO much to look forward to... baby dolls and strollers, pink tutus, sparkly shoes, tiny purses, nailpolish, matching aprons, mommy-daughter shopping dates, crayon pictures of rainbows and flowers with "I love you Mommy" written on them.

Thanks for sharing this with us! Can't wait to "meet" her! :)

  137. I am SOOO happy for you! Little girls are so fun to buy for!

    Hooray for little sisters!!

I can say that because I am one and I don't have any! :)

  138. Congratulations!!!! What wonderful news.

I'm also expecting a girl and let's be honest - it's very hard not to buy every available and truly adorable pink thing. I'm trying to resist the urge to buy a dollhouse and tea set and one of those darling little baby buggies and an American Girl doll.

I don't remember having a spending problem at all with my son.

I'm so happy for you and am excited to see how we boy mamas adjust to raising daughters. Just thinking about the word "daughter" fills me with such a tremendous sense of responsibility.

Bless you and your little family!

  143. Oh WOW! What exciting news! I totally had the days mixed up and thought what you learned of yesterday was actually happening today! So...as your first thoughts this morning were "it's a girl!" I was praying for a great utlra sound and a coopertive baby. I was so excited to log on this morning and see the news! I was totally conviced it was a boy because you seemed so sure. And the whole comment from the nurse about thinking you were having another boy only convinced me more. What a fun surprise! Girls are so much fun! And big brothers are so great for little sisters! I'm so happy for you all! ~ Kristin
