My Pappaw made this amazing sandbox for Jackson. He went all out to make it really special. Y'all, there are Texas stars under the overhang. There's also a really cool umbrella that my Memaw picked out. And a three-color paint job! It also came with wooden lids to keep the critters away. It is AWESOME! Jackson loves it! We have this random square of bricks in one corner of our yard and it turned out to be the perfect spot for the sandbox. It's also the furthest point from our back door, allowing the sand more time to fall off a certain little child before he enters the house. Amen?
My photography tonight was awful, but I want Pappaw to be able to see how much his great-grandson loves his new sandbox. What I am lacking a picture of is the moment when Jackson chucked a handful of sand into my hair. Curtis said, "Jackson, you just got sand in Mommy's hair. Do you know what you've done?" Now I know not to get too close on a clean hair day.
So happy!
He's waited his whole life for this!
Getting his hands dirty.
Seeing if sand is good to jump in.
Look, Mom! A plane!
Seriously, so happy.
A full view of the sand box.
Thank you so much, Pappaw! We love it!
Ahhh! It takes so little to make him happy!
ReplyDeleteAwwwwwwwwwww how precious!
ReplyDeleteAmanda - he is getting so big! He looks just like a big boy!
Awwww, that is so sweet of his great-grandpa.
ReplyDeleteIt's obvious Jackson is just loving it!
Looks like he is having so much fun.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like the sandbox will provide Jackson with hours of entertainment!!! How sweet of your Pappaw to make it for him!
ReplyDeleteThat is absolutely fantastic! That has got to be every kid's dream. =) You (and Jackson, of course!) are incredibly blessed in your Pappaw. The only grandfather I ever knew died when I was 10 and my children don't have any living grandfathers either.
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome!
ReplyDeleteHow sweet of your pappaw....and how lucky the little mister is!
Unrelated comment: I just started a new student in my classroom who just turned 3 on Wednesday....he is so little that we've taken to calling him "little mister"! I have to refrain myself from picking him up and holding him!.....it is so hard!
How fun! The child could not be any cuter if he TRIED!
ReplyDeleteOh, look at that smile. Watch out, Mama! We have one that smiles like that. Let's just say that he often gets his way. It's hard to discipline the boy, who smiles so wonderfully.
ReplyDeleteI love how Curtis took up for you and your beautiful hair. Well done!
And what a heritage your sweet Pappaw is passing down. Wonderful craftmanship.
Going to bed with your Mama and the team on my mind now. Praying for them.
That sandbox is awesome. Jackson looks like he is having a great time. Speaking from experience... you might want to find a way to cover it when not in use if there are any neighborhood cats around or they will make themselves right at home. hee hee
ReplyDeletethat is so great!!
ReplyDeleteAw, he looks so cute and so happy. . . not so sure about that sand in the hair thing, though (lol). I've heard that Texas women have a thing about there hair. Am I right or not, Amanda???
ReplyDeleteEnjoying the sandbox from a distance,
~Cheryl
He looks like he is heaven.
ReplyDeleteYour son is getting soooo BIG!!! And he is soo handsome! I just love your family!
ReplyDeleteThat is way too cute! I know he will love his sandbox for a very long time, and it will be a memory for you both. :o)
ReplyDeleteThat is such an awesome sandbox!!!
ReplyDeletenow i really want to babysit...we could have so much fun at the beach!!
ReplyDeleteNow that is just too cool!! My boys had the little tike turtle sandbox but this is so much cooler!!
ReplyDeleteHave fun Jackson!!
That is one cool customized sandbox... I love the umbrella too. I can't believe your Jackson is old enough already to be in Pull-ups... It has been fun to watch your journey with him. He is adorable :)
ReplyDeleteOh the joy Jackson will have in that mack-daddy cadillac of a sandbox!
ReplyDeleteI know he will be pushing trucks and cars and tractors all through the sand and loving every minute of it.
How sweet of Pappaw. My father (who is also Pappaw to my boys) built a toybox for my guys when they were Jackson's age. It was SO BIG they would play IN it and take all the toys out and throw them all out.
Defeating the purpose for sure, but fun all the same!
Pappaws are great.
Be blessed,
Georgia Jan
Amanda..
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I've ever seen pictures of Jackson with a smile so big and so happy in all his sweet little life!!
Y'all have fun. Don't let that sand get on your nerves....like I did. ;) Enjoy!
Hugs,
Fran
I want to play! That looks like SO much fun.
ReplyDeleteHow cute is that!!!! What a great and special gift!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is the sweetest thing!! What a treasure!!!
ReplyDeleteNow that is a mac daddy sandbox...Way to go Pappaw!
ReplyDeleteThat sandbox will be with you always, where ever you go, passed down to generations. What a special treat for Jackson.
ReplyDeleteI so enjoy your blog. I love being a boy mom and am so blessed to learn from you. I can't even imagine my little man being this big!
ReplyDeleteTh umbrella accent is the best :-) What a sweet (and engergetic) great-grandpa. My kid's great grandpa turned 90 this week. He won't be making any sandboxes too soon -lol. Jackson looks so happy.
ReplyDeleteThat is one awesome sandbox! It looks like Jackson thinks so too.
ReplyDeleteWOW Nice sandbox, and what a great pappaw
ReplyDeleteI love those pictures especially the BIG smile one
ReplyDeleteWe had hours of fun in our sandbox - it is definitely a little boy must have
Enjoy,
Kim
What sweet, sweet grandparents!
ReplyDeleteHe looks like he is having a blast. :)
Off subject, how much longer till you find out what lil' fig is?
I think it's a boy, for the record. ;)
Does your Pappaw work for Pottery Barn?
ReplyDeleteDang. Nice work, Pappaw! That will be a memory maker for years to come.
(Praying healing for your hair.)
A sand box has been my boys' favorite toy--hands down! Mama has another opinion of them!
ReplyDeleteAt least yours is super cute!
You Pappaw is precious for taking the time to make Jackson that adorable sandbox! He looks so happy in it..and his new hair cut is precious!
ReplyDeleteThat is one fantastic sandbox! It almost looks like a bed if you took out the sand and put a mattress in!
ReplyDeleteNow that is one awesome sandbox! Your pappaw is very talented!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry you have to wash sand out of your hair! That is such a pain!
Have fun, Jackson
Grandparents rock!
ReplyDeleteA boy's dream!! He looks like he is having a dandy/sandy good time!! What a sweet Pappaw to do that...I bet he loved building it for Jackson as much as Jackson loves playing in it!!
ReplyDeleteI love the special care that was taken to bless little Jackson! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHow fun is that! I don't know if I could hand the mess of a sandbox but I'm sure Gage would love it!
ReplyDeleteThose are precious! Every kid needs a sandbox! My daughters love theirs. Did you know that Walmart sells Crayola sand in different colors? We have purple, it is a little more expensive so we mixed it with regular sand, now it is a light purple. Also baby powder, sprinkled over sandy arms and legs, makes the sand slide right off!
ReplyDeleteTHAT ROCKS!! HE NEEDS TO GO INTO BUSINESS FORGET THOSE TURTLE SANDBOXES FOR THAT BOY!! HE GETS THE REAL DEAL!!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a cool sandbox! Amen! That's our Lord providing you the ideal sandbox location:)...Oh, my, sand in the hair, that might take a while to get out:)...Little Momma, he's getting taller! He's growin'. He'll be a good big bro:) And he does look happy:)

Hey Amanda,
ReplyDeleteI am a faithful reader, but first time commenter. I love Jackson's new play spot. Maybe one day when I am blessed with Children we can steal your papa's idea and have one of our own made! ;) I love the pics of Jackson, he really looks like he is having a great time. I hope the four of you have a blessed week!
