I can't believe I haven't blogged in a week! There have definitely been some blogable moments, too. Here are my excuses: I've been super busy. I've wanted to say something profound about turning 29, but I just haven't had the energy to do it right. And I've had some computer issues that are finally better.
So here's what I've been up to since my brilliant post last Friday. Our church's women's retreat last weekend and Jerrell Altic's 30th birthday party. Curt preached at a church in Humble, TX, on Sunday. Dinner with Daniel and Amy, who were in town from N.C., that night. Monday night Hubs took me on a birthday date to Taste of Texas. Tuesday morning Jacks went to MDO, I got a pedicure, and joined my LPM sisters for a birthday lunch at a tea room. So fun. That night Curt taught Bible study. Wednesday night Bible study and dinner at church. Thursday held an OB appointment for me, Boss's Day lunch with LPM for Sabrina, and then I made enchiladas last night. This morning was MOPS.
Y'all, I am TIRED! Seriously! I was asleep by 9:45 last night and today I am even more tired. The thought crossed my mind that I might have mono, but I have no other symptoms. So I must be pregnant. Oh yeah - 23 weeks! I've been pretty achy this week, which totally makes me feel like an old woman. (Have you ever spent 12 hours horseback riding? That's what I feel like.) I guess that's fitting for just having had a birthday. While I could carry on this lovely conversation about how busy and pregnant I've been, I am going to join Jackson and take a nap. I really want to share some thoughts about my 28th year, so hopefully I'll be able to write that out this weekend. We have no plans for the next 72 hours, which is glorious. Thank You, Jesus. I'm just going to enjoy my guys and hope that we make it to a pumpkin patch at some point. Happy Friday, y'all!
PS - Thanks for the sweet birthday messages! It was a great day!
those of us who are 32 would cringe at your saying you feel old at 29. not that i'm 32 or anything...
ReplyDeleteWhew....you've earned some R&R - hope you have a restful couple of days!
ReplyDeleteP.S...Welcome back, we missed you!
Aw, Amanda, I have ridden a horse for 12 hours on a trail ride--you feel that bad, huh? OUCH!
ReplyDeleteI really have been praying for you this week and for your energy. I remember the days, laying on the couch with little energy and praying that Noah did not demand me too much, when I was pregnant with Kylie.
Then again, reading your week's events...no wonder you are tired! Enjoy a restful weekend...and take some pumpkin patch pictures. They are my absolute favorite!
Little Momma:)
ReplyDeleteI figured you were busy, you sure were!:) Enchiladas do sound good, I was thinking about making some tonight, I'm watching my 'lil sis, Deanna. I'll also be praying for Beth and crew~last night!:) I know the Lord will show up BIG!
I hope you have a very restful nap Little Momma, and PLENTY of quiet time with the Lord, and little Jackson and the fam:) I'm glad you had a good birthday! Looking forward to your next post on reflecting on being 28:) Pumpkin patch-fun!:)
Love in CHRIST,

Jeremiah 17:14(AMP)
"Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved, for You are my praise."
that's so funny--i'm about to log off the computer and join my girls in napping too. we had MOPS today as well, and i put them down for their nap early. yahoo!
ReplyDeletenothing to do for 72 hours...that IS glorious. we have 3 birthday parties and one wedding this weekend, so it's not going to be as fun for me. AND i have to do half of it solo...Husby has to work a bit this weekend.
wah wah wah...don't you feel sorry for me? :0) it really SOUNDS like i need a nap, doesn't it? haha!
Amanda,
ReplyDeleteSo good to hear from you...I was beginning to worry. lol When I turned 30 I was pregnant with Grace. I was an emotional wreck!
Bless your heart, you definitely need to go take your nap. Have a great relaxing weekend. Hopefully you'll have your mama home soon to help take care of you. :o)
Blessings,
Kimberly
Happy Birthday! And, just a thought, if you are feeling more tired then usual and achy, you might want to tell your doctor. It could be an infection of some kind. Or not, it could just be pregnancy. It's just always good to be in communication with the OB. I hope this isn't a paranoid sounding comment! I don't mean it that way.
ReplyDeleteHope your weekend is fantastic.
Happy late birthday Amanda! I am exhausted just reading about your week. Hope you have a relaxing and peaceful weekend!
ReplyDeleteI'm 20 weeks and I'm tired and I get achy. I know exactly how you feel.
ReplyDeleteI'm turning 39 in February and the last few years have been interesting when it comes to the "tired" thing....and I have had no baby in almost 8 yrs. WHATS UP WITH THAT?
ReplyDeleteI'm just glad that you are getting an off weekend. Lay low my friend. Let laziness rule. :)
Happy birthday again!!
Many blessings and much love,
Fran
Happy Birthday!! I turned 29 five days after having my 3rd child. My husband thought it would be a good idea to have a surprise party for me... so at 4:30, when some friends showed up, I still hadn't taken a shower... I was wearing my hubby's shorts (Hello! I just had a baby 5 days ago) and wasn't looking party if you know what I mean!! I got ready quickly and it was a blast... but then all my friends thought that I had turned 30... why else would Kevin have a party for me??? LOL 29 was wonderful by the way... enjoy it :-)!
ReplyDeleteI think my 29th birthday was more difficult for me than when I turned 30 this past March...crazy, huh? I remember telling Hubs that so many great things happened to me in my twenties and that I was reluctant to leave them (as if I had a choice). But God revealed Himself to me in new ways and just blessed my socks off that last year that I didn't even care when 30 came around!!! It was a great year and I know this next year is going to be great for you, too!
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated Birthday, Amanda!
I used to live in Humble, Atascocita actually. Anyway, happy belated birthday and have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated Birthday sweet friend! Glad to hear it was special. I love hearing about your pregnancy, and I think it is definitely time to post some pics of your cute belly. :P
ReplyDeleteI am glad that you had a great week! We missed you at Bunko! :)
ReplyDeleteI know how that 12 hour horseback feeling goes...
Hope it gets better for you!
We need to hang out soon!
m
You have been one busy woman! I am so glad that you got a pedi. Pedi's are the best. After my busy week I need to schedule one.
ReplyDeleteGet some rest this weekend and after you mentioned possibly going to a pumpkin patch, that reminded me I need to get our pumpkins. We have 5 adults in our home and all 5 of us like to have a pumpkin carving contest. :)
Praying for you!
Love,
Patty
Girl - you have been busy this week. So glad it was full of fun celebrations. Now RELAX and enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful birthday! Taste of Texas and a pedicure!! :) Now put your feet up and rest! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Amanda (a little late!)!!!
ReplyDeleteI am not sure that I'm going to even claim 29 in May when my birthday rolls around. I think I'm going to stick with 28 for about 5 years or so...
Ok, that would be living in denial, huh? :)
Happy Belated Birthday! We're the same age, how fun!
ReplyDeleteI can so relate to the tired, achy body thing. I keep telling myself it will be better in a few weeks.
Did you get the marinated steak skewers? That's my fav at Taste of Texas. Mmm.
