It's about time you let us know what was up! I loved the title of today's post. Too funny. Excited for you guys and this new place the Lord has brought you!
How wonderful is this!! Good for you guys. God is so awesome.I was absolutely giddy to read about you moving back to Houston. I think it is great for you and yours, but also for your mom. What a precious gift from the Lord to her.
I am so happy for all of you. What a wonderful opportunity from the Lord. I know you all are so excited to be in Houston again. Can't wait to hear details of your new house.
PS There is a huge need of good sound Men's Bible study material, just a thought.
That is so stinking awesome! Congratulations on the new job Curtis and I look forward to hearing more about it. (So cool, so cool! God just astounds me with the things He works out.) (I tried to post before, but my computer glitched, so if you got it twice Amanda, just delete one. :) )
news for all of you! It must be just amazing to beable to work so closely as an entire family!!! Best wishes to you all, hope you are settling in well! My prayers are with you that your family may continue to follow God's path He is leading you on and that you experience a wonderful journey as you do.
i was getting your w/e recap (i want to know did you get a Dyson Animal??!! they're awesome!) THEN, the Curtis "cat" was let out. I'm so HAPPY it's OUT! can't wait until tomorrow :)
Amanda - that is so exciting. Kevin and I are also huge fans of Curtis and his ability to reach people through his speaking. We can't wait to see how this unfolds and are so happy for the both of you!
Since Lil Miss Firecracker LOVES Mi Cocina, we will have to go there to celebrate in honor of the Jones family. Any excuse to not have to cook--thanks LPM!! :-)
Just finished listening to the sermon on Isaiah 58 and loved it! My husband serves as a Worship Pastor in Northwest Arkansas and will be so encouraged by this sermon! I have already emailed the link to him!
Well...my goodness!!! That is just about the coolest thing I've heard in a very long time!!! I know you guys are thrilled to all be a part of the LPM family.
Blessings over your hubs as he begins this new journey with the Lord!!
How exciting!!! I have been doing Beth's studies for 10 years and have led a few over the past years. In those years I have heard countelss men say they wish they had in depth studies like the women have and I have been praying about that for several years. I know men who have taken her studies at home and loved every single minute of it! My 36 year old baby brother is one of them. Actually, he came to the classes at church and was the only male in the room. I am excited for Curtis' new position at LPM. I am excited to sit back and watch God work and I will keep your sweet family in my prayers! Have a blessed Monday! Love, Patty
I was really hoping that LPM would be gaining Curtis in ya'lls move to Houston! I am so glad that God has blessed your family with this amazing opportunity to minister together! :) Looking forward to hearing Curtis preach in some way, shape or form through LPM!
Yeah! What an exciting new chapter in your lives. I hope I have the opportunity to go to an LPM event and hear him & your Mom together. I have to say that the thought had crossed my mind when you moved to Houston. I'm so happy for you. Not only that, but what a blessing for Jackson to get to grow up close to his grandparents! Thanks for sharing this with us. ~Shalana
Listened to the sermon on his page and it was right on! I needed to be reminded of what true worship is. Congrats on the new job Curtis it sounds like exciting opportunities are ahead! So that's what the changes were for LPM that you'd asked us to pray for awhile back...
so excited for you guys! I know it will be so fun to be with your mom for family times and how cool to have Curtis work alongside her as well! Pryaing for you guys!
I'm a lurker, coming out to say Congratulations! To both you and the Living Proof Family.
As a military family we have moved often (we lived in FW for 7 years, so I loved reading your blog because you would write about all my favorite places!). SO my heart was aching as you talked about leaving your dear friends! I am so glad to know that you won't be too far from them, and what's more, will be close to family again.
Reading your posts over the past few weeks has been EXCRUCIATING because I just KNEW there was a cat to be set free and it was clawing and scratching to get out!!
You can read my comment over at the other blog, but this is a DIRECT answer to a prayer that my sisters prayed one night in our Stepping Up class! I am so excited for you and Curtis that I can hardly stand it.
Congratulations on all the exciting changes, but I'm still holding closely prayers for you in those things you miss about your old home!!
Blessings and thanks for involving us in this awesome adventure!
Blessings, Dori
P.S. Off to listen to Curtis' message on the LPM site.
So, can I hire Curt to come to my birthday party? What are the parameters of his service...? Just kidding! This is awesome! I'm s proud to have been ministered to by such an awesome team of people!
Well, I had NO idea you were Beth Moore's daughter! :) A double bonus, since I love reading her too! Congrats to your husband and you as you both embark on your new journey! :)
Yea Curt! Your Mom writes "He is real and he is relevant". I couldn't agree more with that statement. How I will miss hearing Curt "bringing it" on Sunday mornings but can't wait to see the big ways God is going to use Curt through LPM!
I just read... I was thinking the same thing... "The cat is finally out of the bag!" As I made my way over here from the LPM blog! Congrats Joneses - I am sure you are in for the ride of your lives! How great you are serving the Lord together with you family in ministry --- We are so blessed to be on this journey with you all!
I love your directions!!!! I followed them and now return to thank you for telling us the name of your new church!!! What Great news!!!! It made me think of that d.willard article i sent you and how Great is our God!!!!
oh that is so awesome! I loved the part of Curtis saying he did a Beth Moore study before he met you. My dad will be relieved to know he's not the only man, and he loved the Daniel study so much. You need to do some shirts that say Real Men read Beth Moore Bible Studies. :-)
That's so exciting! I thought the same thing as Kelly...another baby! Ha! In time I'm sure! For now I hope you just enjoy being in your new house and loving the place God has brought your family!
I've kinda been wondering when you would announce what opportunity had taken you back to Houston. So excited for you all and excited for the direction that a man on the LPM staff will take the ministry ... I can see the numbers of "miesta's" growing quite rapidly :-) Congratulations to all!
We miss you like crazy here in North Texas...but we know that the Lord has some mighty plans cookin' for your precious family. Amanda - I miss visiting with you every Sunday at the college check-in table before Sunday school. So, just so you know... every Sunday morning I think of you when I stand by that table. Seriously. And I will always think of you when I hear Sprinkles cupcakes mentioned, or when I think about how you would love to see Janelle's new haircut in person, and now I'll think of you everytime I use my melamine mixing bowls.
Thanks for sharing your happy news with us. Nice to know what Curtis will be up to...and loved the praise from your mom! Would love to hear him preach sometime.
How very cool! What an amazing journey the Lord has you on. Praying for you guys as you start this new leg of it and very excited to see more of what God has in store for y'all!
How fun Amanda!! You must be completely thrilled! What a special thing for your family...I am very excited for you and Curtis. He will be a wonderful addition to the LPM staff! Enjoy this new chapter in your life!
I had a fleeting thought this weekend that maybe Curtis was going to work at LPM! How cool is this??? :D:D:D -- Is he going to blog on LPM too? Amanda, I'm so happy for all of you. God is just showering down on your lives, and I'm so excited I get to at least watch it :)!
OK...so I should probably clarify...when I said, "It's about time!"...I meant..."It's about time that something great like this happened for your family and for LPM". :-)
I was just about to pop with excitement when I read the news! Isn't that perfect! So God! I genuinely couldn't stop smiling! I have had such joy in my heart for you all! What a blessing... a gift! I am thrilled! God you are so good! : )
For my quiet time this morning I listened to Curtis' sermon! Wow! You are right! He is so gifted! So easy to listen to... he just draws you in! So funny, real, humble. He had me laughing so hard... then in tears... then amazed... so right... God used it this morning to have me so search my heart! I was so convicted (in the beautiful way... you know I like that kind : ) ) I just searched my heart over and over... show me these things Lord... how to Worship you with my life! Thank you! I was so blessed!
I will be praying for you all! This is exciting! Can't wait to hear more!
Who knew? God knew, that's who!!! Wow, can't wait to see what God has in mind. I love ya'll so much and can't wait to see all that fruit drippin' forth!!!!
Perfect title! That is so exciting and we know that you will be a huge support in his ministry! Congrats on the amazing opportunity God has given your family! What awesome news! Amy in OK
Very exciting news! I read about it on the LPM blog. I have a question. Our ladies finished "Stepping Up" last night and were talking about what study we'll do next. Can you tell me when Esther will be out? Thanks! Valerie
What exciting news! I left a comment over on LPM; but wanted to let you know too that I so enjoyed Curtis's sermon. Our pastor is also preaching on worship--coincidence? I think not!
Hope you're feeling settled quickly and enjoying your new mixing bowls. So cute! And somehow new kitchen-y things makes cooking that much more fun again.
There's nothing like living close to family. My mom (Gran!) is just five minutes and I love that she stops by to say hello and picks up the girls from school for a special date just because she can.
i have been a lurker for a while now. :) ummmm....hello...wow...you know beth moore in person AND she is your mom? the wonderful things that she had to say about your hubby are truly amazing. ya'll are just a crazy amazing family. god bless you guys!!!
Amanda, Have you seen the You Tube videos about Oprah's church? It's frightening. What are your feelings on this and does LPM have an opinion about it? Just curious to know what other woman are thinking.
yeah! i listened to curt's message because it has been so long since i have heard him. he cracks me up and i love how he can get away with being so real and at the same time slapping you in the face with a good word. i like this cat!
My hubby 'AMENed" and seconded that comment that 'it takes a real man to work for his mother-in-law'. My hubby loves his and is praying about going into business with her!
amanda, i am so excited for you and your precious family. can't wait for you to come back for a visit...maybe a dinner out with the girls to hear all about it all. love to you.
Hey Amanda - I've already posted my excitement here and over there, but I am still so thrilled for all of you and for all of us! When you said the place you were going needed to be ready to announce it, I knew it couldn't be a church, because what church could keep news like that quiet, and why would they in the first place?? I then just knew in my heart it was with LPM. I was initially excited for all the men I know who might love this new aspect, but it's finally hit home realizing Curtis could impact MY son in the coming years! That is sweet music to this single mother's heart. It will be neat to see if that is part of God's answer to my prayers for his training or not. Thank you both again for stepping obediently into this calling.
Your mom may have told you this, but at the Life Today taping Tuesday night, she and James kept referring to Isaiah 58 in their conversation. I found that intriguing, knowing y'all had just posted Curt's sermon based on that scripture. I haven't yet found time to listen, but I was finally able to read the passage this morning. I look forward to the weekend and some time to learn from him.
Congratulations on your big move and new job...sorta feels like coming home, huh? That must be fun for you all. Having Jackson close to his Bibby and Grandpa must be so ideal. I don't often comment on your personal blog but visit it quite regularly. I mostly comment on the LPM blog...anyway, I realize that you may be too busy toanswer this question, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to try..my husband and I are visiting Jackson Hole for our 25th anniversary in June and wondered if you knew of any ranch in particular that you would recommend. I thought we might stay 3 nights at a dude ranch and then the other 3 in one of the National Parks or something. Any recommendations? I know you are familiar with that area and sometimes it is scary to just book things from the internet. Thanks so much and truly, best wishes on your move and much success to Curtis on his new job! Blessings.
Congratulations to both of you! What an exciting time--new house, new position! (And yes, I know it's several days after this post, but we're in the middle of moving, and I don't even know exactly what day it is! Sorry, Amanda!!)
WOW. How exciting for your family. God is using you all in MIGHTY ways! Praise the Lord!
ReplyDeleteSO cool amanda!!!!
ReplyDeleteI totally I thought I would click over to find out you were having a second baby! :-) (I don't know where I would be clicking to find that out??? ha!)

I already posted my excitement over there, but just FYI -- I am so excited for ya'll!!!
ReplyDeleteHow great is our God! I'm thrilled for you and Curtis.
ReplyDeleteAnd does this mean you'll be working -- gulp -- together? Should we send extra prayer support? Or just Starbucks gift cards?
Fantastic news! What an addition to LPM. I'm praising God for weaving your families together in such magnificent measure.

How exciting for your family! I am in the middle of Curtis's message and I'm telling ya, I could listen all day long!

Listened to the sermon on his page and it was right on! I needed to be reminded of what true worship is. Congrats on the new job Curtis it sounds like exciting opportunities are ahead! So that's what the changes were for LPM that you'd asked us to pray for awhile back...

ReplyDeleteyeah! i listened to curt's message because it has been so long since i have heard him. he cracks me up and i love how he can get away with being so real and at the same time slapping you in the face with a good word.
ReplyDeletei like this cat!
Congratulations!

Very exciting for you and your family! Congratulations, you are truly at home now!!!
ReplyDeleteMy hubby 'AMENed" and seconded that comment that 'it takes a real man to work for his mother-in-law'. My hubby loves his and is praying about going into business with her!
ReplyDeleteBlessings to all of you!
amanda,
ReplyDeletei am so excited for you and your precious family. can't wait for you to come back for a visit...maybe a dinner out with the girls to hear all about it all. love to you.
Hey Amanda - I've already posted my excitement here and over there, but
ReplyDeleteI am still so thrilled for all of you and for all of us!
Praying for you all,
Lisa in Ft. Worth
Blessings.
ReplyDeleteOh, psyche. I heard this last Tuesday. I thought you were pregnant.
ReplyDeleteThat is just fantastic! Congrats.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to both of you! What an exciting time--new house, new position! (And yes, I know it's several days after this post, but we're in the middle of moving, and I don't even know exactly what day it is! Sorry, Amanda!!)
