  31. How exciting!!! I have been doing Beth's studies for 10 years and have led a few over the past years. In those years I have heard countelss men say they wish they had in depth studies like the women have and I have been praying about that for several years. I know men who have taken her studies at home and loved every single minute of it! My 36 year old baby brother is one of them. Actually, he came to the classes at church and was the only male in the room. I am excited for Curtis' new position at LPM. I am excited to sit back and watch God work and I will keep your sweet family in my prayers!
    Have a blessed Monday!
    Love,
    Patty

As a military family we have moved often (we lived in FW for 7 years, so I loved reading your blog because you would write about all my favorite places!). SO my heart was aching as you talked about leaving your dear friends! I am so glad to know that you won't be too far from them, and what's more, will be close to family again.

You can read my comment over at the other blog, but this is a DIRECT answer to a prayer that my sisters prayed one night in our Stepping Up class! I am so excited for you and Curtis that I can hardly stand it.

Congratulations on all the exciting changes, but I'm still holding closely prayers for you in those things you miss about your old home!!

  70. We miss you like crazy here in North Texas...but we know that the Lord has some mighty plans cookin' for your precious family. Amanda - I miss visiting with you every Sunday at the college check-in table before Sunday school. So, just so you know... every Sunday morning I think of you when I stand by that table. Seriously. And I will always think of you when I hear Sprinkles cupcakes mentioned, or when I think about how you would love to see Janelle's new haircut in person, and now I'll think of you everytime I use my melamine mixing bowls.

    Love you much!

  97. Dear Amanda,

What exciting news! I left a comment over on LPM; but wanted to let you know too that I so enjoyed Curtis's sermon. Our pastor is also preaching on worship--coincidence? I think not!

Hope you're feeling settled quickly and enjoying your new mixing bowls. So cute! And somehow new kitchen-y things makes cooking that much more fun again.

There's nothing like living close to family. My mom (Gran!) is just five minutes and I love that she stops by to say hello and picks up the girls from school for a special date just because she can.

Hey Amanda - I've already posted my excitement here and over there, but
I am still so thrilled for all of you and for all of us! When you said the place you were going needed to be ready to announce it, I knew it couldn't be a church, because what church could keep news like that quiet, and why would they in the first place?? I then just knew in my heart it was with LPM. I was initially excited for all the men I know who might love this new aspect, but it's finally hit home realizing Curtis could impact MY son in the coming years! That is sweet music to this single mother's heart. It will be neat to see if that is part of God's answer to my prayers for his training or not.
Thank you both again for stepping obediently into this calling.

Your mom may have told you this, but at the Life Today taping Tuesday night, she and James kept referring to Isaiah 58 in their conversation. I found that intriguing, knowing y'all had just posted Curt's sermon based on that scripture. I haven't yet found time to listen, but I was finally able to read the passage this morning. I look forward to the weekend and some time to learn from him.

    Praying for you all,
    Lisa in Ft. Worth

  108. Congratulations on your big move and new job...sorta feels like coming home, huh? That must be fun for you all. Having Jackson close to his Bibby and Grandpa must be so ideal. I don't often comment on your personal blog but visit it quite regularly. I mostly comment on the LPM blog...anyway, I realize that you may be too busy toanswer this question, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to try..my husband and I are visiting Jackson Hole for our 25th anniversary in June and wondered if you knew of any ranch in particular that you would recommend. I thought we might stay 3 nights at a dude ranch and then the other 3 in one of the National Parks or something. Any recommendations? I know you are familiar with that area and sometimes it is scary to just book things from the internet. Thanks so much and truly, best wishes on your move and much success to Curtis on his new job! Blessings.
