1) Janelle and her hubby are going to Sudan next week. They are going to need lots of prayer...starting now! Y'all know that there is so often spiritual warfare right before something like that. Janelle shares some prayer needs on her blog, like that she and Heath will not come down with Ella's stomach virus this week.
2) As of July 1, I am officially a part timer at LPM. My responsibilities have been cut in half! Therefore I am super behind on work emails. Yikes! Tomorrow I have to bust it in the office.
3) Star (my parents' puppy) is coming to stay with us this weekend while my parents go to Minnesota. She is going to entertain my boy all weekend. They have so much fun together. My rugs, Henley and Adeline, will need some prayer in case anyone would like to lift them up by name.
Sweet Adeline.
Precious Henley.
4) Jackson has been saying really cute things lately and I discovered that he can count to 20. Who taught him that? I have seriously only gone past 10 with him maybe three times. Some current frequently used words are canny/candy, police car, fire truck, tratis/tractor, starbis/starburst, peach, Diet Coke (that is from his father), crocs, hotcorn/popcorn, firerocks/fireworks, and awesome.
5) We might take Jackson to the circus this weekend. I'm pumped.
6) We have had my Jeep for four years and we have only ever had one key to it. Well, this week Curtis took it off my key ring because he was going to take the Jeep to get inspected. (Y'all, one of the main reasons I got married was to have someone to take care of my car.) He was about to walk out the door with the key in hand when Jackson tripped over my computer cord in the living room and wiped out. In the chaos of him flying through the air and the screaming and crying, the key got lost. It is in this house but we absolutely cannot find it. So for three days we have been sharing Curt's truck. Tonight we had to pay a locksmith $200 to come to our house and make another "smart key" for us. Dang Gina. That was after my Jeep failed the first inspection and we had to pay $700 for a new computer system to go in it. Fun times!
7) My sis-in-law, Lindsay, is having a boy! Yipee!

Praying for Janelle and Heath. So pumped for what God is going to do!
Congratulations to Lindsay--boys are wonderful!!
I'd love to hear Jackson say, Awesome! :)
Sorry about your jeep woes--boo!
Working on the cookbooks tonight after a "sick day" for me. It's coming together well--only a couple weeks before printing it!
Star is the cutest little puppy.
I'm so glad your mom got a new little friend. Y'all will have fun with her.
I got my "new" car in Feb. and they only gave us one key. I am such a freak about having lots of keys and still only have one.
Right now my car is sitting out in my driveway dead (minor, I hope) and it will be towed today to get fixed. As I placed the key under the mat for the wrecker I very carefully shut the door making sure it was unlocked. :)
Yay for Jackson counting to 20! It amazes me how they just start learning things all of a sudden at this age. So much fun!
Hope y'all get to go to the circus.
Love,
Valerie
1. Definitely praying!
2. Part time= more time for blogging, right?
3. My new puppy is going to have to get a job to pay for some new carpet.
4. I wish we could hear it! Especially "awesome" Time for a youtube?
5. Do it! But eat first so you aren't tempted by the $30 popcorn.
6. My warped, slightly fatalistic yet optimistic view would tell me that keeping that Jeep in the driveway and paying $200 kept you from being in an accident, so it is really a good thing.
7. Wohoo!
Hey Amanda!
Will pray for Janelle, hubby, Ella, puppy and rug, your parents in Minnesota, and Lindsay's pregnancy!:)...feeling for ya with the missing key incident and the inspection costs:)...I was thinking about Minneapolis this week, and the August LPL (I will be there with my mentor and my momma!:) and your mom's Esther deadline...busy woman...so, I have come across some scripture that I would like to encourage her and LPM (ya'll:)and the praise team, tech crews (small army) with: Isaiah 40:28-31, Heb. 10:35-38,12:1-3, Psalm 74:23-28, 78:52-53...they are a blessing to me, and I'm thinking they will be a blessing to you too:)
Have a wonderfully blessed day Amanda!
Love in CHRIST and ((HUGS)) to all,

Ha ha ha...funny about praying for your rugs! Those are some NICE rugs too darn it.
YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS. This rocked my world this a.m. and fired me right up! Glory to God.

I've been a blog reader of yours for a year or so. Keep up the funny posts! :)
Kelly S.
I love these kind of blogs...I love to hear what people have been up to! And maybe you'll find your other key and then you'll have two! :)
I will certainly be praying for Janelle. We have a group from church that leaves for Mozambique tomorrow.
Can't wait to meet you!
Oh sweetie, sorry to hear about your key. As my girlfriend and I say, "it's neither life nor limb." :)
Here's what works: AAA Membership. That service is free. So the membership pays for itself.
Last summer this exact week, when we were in Boulder visiting family. The night before we left, at a Mexican ;) restaurant, I had my key in hand and flushed the commercial toilet and dropped the key in. It went straight to the Indian Ocean. ;/
Voila AAA! And it was Auntie G's car key - the only one. AAA was an answer to prayers.
God Bless!
ooh, I have a sweet spot for your rug, Adeline. Not only is it a beautiful rug , but that is my daughter's name. We mostly call her Addie, but we named her after my grandmother. So, how did you come about to name your rugs?
Beverly in Colo Springs
you seriously named your rugs??? oh, girl...
BTW, the rugs were named by Pottery Barn, not by me!
Amanda, why not roll up your rugs and put them aside for this short time? That way no mishaps. Bring them out after Star leaves.
Here's a thought on the rugs; why not roll them up and put them away while Star is there?
Jackson says "awesome"? That is so funny! Next, you can work on "wicked cool."
My friend's little boy was about Jackson's age when his mom had his little sister. His suggestions for her name were similar to the words Jackson is now saying: "dump truck," "tea," and my personal favorite, "God." I'm sure Maggie is happy her parents did not decide to name her Dump Truck.
Oh, by the way, when we bought our used car, we only got one key. When we went to go get it copied, we found out it's one of those with a chip in it, and it costs $100 to get it from a dealer. ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME? So we went to some knock-off locksmithing place, and they did it for $35. Thankfully, it works.
I hate the feeling of searching for something in your house that you KNOW is in your house -- yet you can't find it.
By the way, the comment you made about your parents both coming to Minnesota this weekend made me laugh. I went to the Sioux Falls conference a few years ago (it was a drive, but it was worth it), and at that time, I hadn't seen a picture of your Dad.
But there was a man standing on the floor next to the stage, who would follow your Mom around (and around and around) as she spoke. We all theorized that he was your Dad, because he had that definite "don't mess" look.
As you know, we were wrong.
Still, it's good to know he gets to accompany your Mom on some of these trips. The travel must get tiring for them.
The Youtube link provided by Kelly S. is EXACTLY what I needed from God today. If He can do it for them, He can do it for me. Thank you.
Mrs. Amanda,
I realized one of my scripture references was wrong: Psalm 74:23-28 is really Psalm 73:23-28; (This scripure is so comforting!) I get confused sometimes, nothing to be alarmed about, really, I promise:)
Love,
katiegfromtennessee
Hey girl!!
When we moved I packed up the desktop which had your email address. Would you do me a favor and send me a quick email, I need to ask you a question or two!! Our email is stoverfamily99@gmail.com.
Love you!
Amanda
Once while we were enroute to Massachusetts my then pregnant daughter thought that they threw the only key to their car in Wendy's trash.
Her very sweet husband (I think tha he was fearful of hormonal rage)began going through the trash...as he was halfway through she found the key in her pocket...oops!
Motto always have a spare :)
I missed the rugs and their names last night--hee hee! I have never met anyone, who names their rugs. Ha! Ha! We did have a truck named Humphrey once.
so many things going on in the Jones world!!!!! We miss yall!!!
Of course, Pottery Barn names its rugs!
I'm tellin' ya, I'm a confused woman!! I got another reference messed up! Okay, I really need to edit my posts better:) Heb. 10:35-38 is supposed to be Heb. 10:35-39.
Alright, enough confusion for one day-LORD, have mercy on my soul!!:) Ya'll know my heart, right?:)
katiegfromtennessee
"dang gina", that's too funny! it was good visiting with you at the park the other day...i remember we talked about that store crazy 8...well (drum roll please) they're opening one in willowbrook mall, and if you go to their website you can print a coupon for $10 off (your purchase of $30.00). just thought i'd let you know...please excuse my run-on sentences...i write like i talk. :)
Thank you so much for linking to us! We can't get enough prayers! And you are definitely one of our #1 prayer warriors! :-)
SO fun that Star is staying with you guys this weekend. Jackson is going to be in heaven!
Congrats on going part time!! That is awesome!
Circus? Did you read BigMama's blog on taking Caroline to the Circus? Beware the $8 cotton candy!
I'll be praying for Heath and Janelle.
I'll also remember Adeline and Henley in my prayers.
And I'll for sure remember you and Curtis if y'all end up taking Jackson to the circus. It's fun for the kids, but a semi-beating for the grown-ups. Or maybe I'm just weak.
Your rugs are so cute! I love them!
If y'all go to the circus, have a blast. Can you believe that I've lived in Houston my whole life and still have yet to experience the circus?! Sad day. I guess my parents took into account when I was younger that I was absolutely terrified of clowns. And still am!
Lindsee
P.S. I just got the HFBC newsletter and saw that Curtis was preaching in a few Sundays! I so wish I could come in the mornings to hear him, but I have to stick to the evening service so I can be at my church in the morning! I'll be praying for him. Exodus has been AMAZING!
I'm kind of in love with Adeline. Wherever did you find her?
DANG GINA!!!! I am so excited to hear someone else say that. A friend I worked with for sometime said it and I say it all the time and people look at me as if I've lost my mind!!!!
I am sorry to hear about the jeep key and you realize you will find the key now!!! I will add Janelle and Heath to my prayer list. We just went to Jamaica (not a resort obviously) with our church and it is amazing.
Love, Bitsy
"Dang Gina." So funny. My sister used to say that so often I started calling her Gina and it stuck. People always look at me funny when I call her that when they know that's not her name. I think it's hilarious!
"Dang Gina." That cracks me up!!!
Happy to hear about the part-time work! That's the perfect balance in my opinion!
Have a great weekend!
Above all, I'm praying for Janelle and Heath as they travel to the Sudan.
But, after I'm done, I'll definitely lift up sweet Adeline. That's one lovely rug!
(I hope the other one doesn't have it's feelings hurt...just couldn't remember her name.)
Will definitely be praying for your friend's visit to Sudan...what a trip! On a completely different note, praise God for a girl who names things other than pets/humans!! I have found my soul sister :) My laptop "Johnny Cash", my vehicle "Goldie the II", my recently traded vehicle "Proud Mary" (she had big wheels that kept on turnin')...the list could go on....thanks for your "randomness"!
ugh...the "smart key"...nothing smart about a key that costs $200 to replace.
I'm pulling for Adeline to come out of this okay. She's my favorite!
I love your writing! You're at least good for one laugh a blog!! Have fun at the circus!
Thanks for the shout-out regarding Janelle and Heath going to Sudan.
And I don't know whether I'd want to laugh or cry over the key incident - that is such a picture of my life with keys. I ALWAYS lose them! :(
That whole key thing would still be driving me insane wondering where it is...glad you are able to get back in your car again, though! :)
am just catching up on blogs and am hoping that you won't be "part-timing" this blog...although with your new assignment i will consider myself blessed by any time you have to keep things in order and write to us....
