Pizza and Cupcakes

These pictures are from the day before Annabeth's birthday. I hung her banners over the window along with a couple of last year's party poms. Only one stayed up there. Curtis picked up some balloons and flowers for his girl.

The kids enjoyed some hot chocolate. It was so cold outside!

I dressed Annabeth in her birthday outfit for the little pizza and cupcake party at my mom's house.

Bibby greeted the birthday girl, who was very aware that she was being celebrated. We said, "Annabeth, how old are you today?" She'd hold up one finger and say, "Two!"

So many presents, but she's pointing at the cupcakes!

These were from a place called Treat. The chocolate one with white icing and chocolate sprinkles was heavenly.

The balloons made the journey with us. They were very festive.

Thumbs up! (Yes, Jackson lost a tooth but I'm not ready to talk about it yet.)

Annabeth enjoyed her pizza.

Mom and Curtis

Mom and Melissa

Annabeth was very amused by and drawn to the candles in her cupcake.

Notice that I am holding her hands!

Yay, Annabeth!

My kids love cake and cupcakes as much as I do.

Annabeth got some adorable outfits for spring and summer.

And a Dora princess dress!

Aunt Sassa got her a makeup set. She was in love.

Melissa's extensions look exquisite.

We got tickled about Annabeth being a Proverbs 31 toddler.

She had to stop and put on her lipstick. We were rolling!

The boys played some music for us.

It has been an eventful day. We were supposed to wake up to snow covering the ground, but instead there was only ice. What a huge bummer! I cannot accurately describe what a big deal this winter storm has been in our city. We've been hearing about it non-stop all week. I totally bought into the hysteria while my husband remained doubtful. I will never hear the end of it!

Curtis was supposed to catch a flight to Arkansas today, so he drove an hour across town to Hobby Airport only to find his flight wasn't going to make it. At least he got to eat at Papasito's in the airport. A few hours later he made it back home safe and sound. I was filled with fear and dread all morning (the newspaper said there were 100 accidents in 4 hours), but I'm grateful to God for keeping him safe on the road. I hate that he didn't make it to the Disciple Now he was speaking out. As it turns out, the event was cancelled due to bad weather in Jonesboro and they are going to reschedule it.

Whether you're snowed in or free to move about your town, I hope you have a great weekend with your people.

Love love love her joy over the cake. My boys don't get into cake and cupcakes nearly as much as I do and it saddens me to no end! Her little vac is hilarious.

her outfit is so cute! and i want to give a praise offering for the moore ladies' hair. y'all totally represent when it comes to good texas hair!

my oldest is just months older than jackson, and she almost lost her two front teeth after she wiped out in the parking lot of the white rock marathon back in december after watching daddy run. she had her hands in her coat pockets, tripped, couldn't brace herself, so her face took the brunt. :0(

Hi Amanda! I've never left a comment but I felt compelled to this time. Nicole Arbuckle is actually one of my best friends and I've been praying that your husband would be able to make it this weekend! Anyways, my baby boy (my firstborn) is two weeks old and your last post brought me to tears. I'm already so sad to see how much he has changed in the first two weeks, I can't imagine what it will be in two years! Thanks for the sweet reminder to enjoy every moment the Lord gives us!

I have been a "lurker" for a few years now and just wanted to drop in and say that I love reading your blog. You seem to be such a sweet person and a great mom. I also live in Texas (45 min north of Houston) so I know what you mean about this nasty weather!! Anyway, just wanted to drop in and say "hi".....

The girl knows how to vaccum in style! Now, who did she learn that from? Happy birthday to such a cutie!

I don't know what happened with the tooth but I will tell you this...I have six boys. Yep. Six. And four of the six did damage to their beautiful baby teeth around the age of two or three. So nearly age five isn't bad. Having said that...it was so traumatic for me.I still find myself thinking..why can't there be child dentures or something...I WANT my baby's perfect teeth back. SO I feel your pain....whatever that may be! :)

You are a pretty amazing woman, mama and daughter of Jesus, Amanda.

And the letter to Annabeth? God's used it for big things in my life. *Thank you*...

Happy Birthday to that sweet girl! I am a little upset on how long her hair is! Ava's will not grow! ha
We need to borrow some extensions....
Laughing...

We were bummed about the snow too! I was looking forward to playing in it.

Have a great week.

Totally not related to the birthday...but I liked your comment on your son's tooth. My oldest boy had a tooth pulled because of an injury when he was just 3 and it was quasi-traumatic to me. He's had worse injuries/traumas so I've moved on but I get it...

First time to leave a comment on your blog...LPM fan....your haircut looks really great. I am a hairstylist and I know cutting off length is a big step and sometimes not worth it but your hair looks beautiful! Just wanted to let you know ;)

Thanks for sharing the LOVE in this precious family!!!!!

It just makes my heart tingle with Angel Bumps to see you, sister, mom, husband and children celebrating the legacy of LIFE! Proverbs 31 :)

The fav. is when you mentioned how much Jackson was enjoying the whoppie cushion. A favorite gift of my boys!!! Giggle giggle!
Wait until the burps!

Hope to see you soon!

The Proverbs 31 toddler comment was the best - loved that!

What wonderful pictures! As for the snow, all we kept hearing in East Texas was how it was going south of us. Needless to say we were a little surprised to wake up to a few inches and completely unprepared. Glad Curtis made it home safely. Have a great weekend!

If "Momma Tooth Fairy" isn't ready to talk about the tooth ... it must be a really good story (maybe not good now, but one of those years down the road you'll be laughing about). Jackson looks so happy though! :) Ugh ... once the teeth start coming out ... they never seem to stop. The girls are 12 and 10 and we always seem to have a loose tooth. It's not for the weak-stomached!! (did I mention that I'm weak-stomached?!)

Proverbs 31 toddler...hahahaha!! That's awesome.

Love her sweet outfit and all of the pics.

Happy Birthday to Annabeth!

It looks like it was absolutely a wonderful party!! My 2.5 year old daughter fell (I believe big brother was involved) and broke her top front tooth. Drama, I tell you, because we're over here in backwoods land! (I say that lovingly-mostly!) We had to extract it. Once it was all over, I cried my tears of grief. So I hope Jackson's was just normal kid-losing-teeth stuff! :)

I don't know if you'll read this or not, but I noticed that you said Curtis speaks at D-Now wknds.
We are in Arkansas and I was wondering where he was headed?
I would be so pumped if he came to speak for our D-Now event, but I'm sure it's too late for this year since ours will be in about 4 weeks. I'll put the "bug" in our youth pastor's ear for next year.

I used to work at Treat!! Those cupcakes sure are delicious.

Glad to see AB had a super birthday. :)

So many presents, but she's pointing at the cupcakes!

Wait. Are you somehow implying that cupcakes aren't presents? Because clearly, AB disagrees.

Happy, happy birthday to your sweet little one. May God richly bless her as she continues to grow with joy and laughter.
