My Life This Week

Jackson started preschool this week. His teacher's first impression of him was that "He's very active!" :) Our MDO phase is over, which means no more lugging around a huge nap mat even though my kid doesn't sleep at school. And we traded in the big, honking backpack for this smaller one. Woo hoo!

My mom always had some special treat for us on the first and last days of school. I had to carry on the tradition with some Baskin Robbins ice cream cake. I'm thankful to have had an excuse because it was oh so yummy.

Missy and Ellison came over to celebrate with us. This is our first pic of the girls together. They're two beauties, if I may say so!

Star came to stay with us last night.

This series of pictures is called "Jackson got in trouble."

Crayon on the window.

Colored pencil on the wall. I really thought I had that stuff hidden.

Annabeth had her first carrots today.

I had to walk away for a minute to, um, tend to my other child's bathroom needs, and Annabeth started crying because she wanted more, more, more! Get in my belly, carrots!

Carrots make such a mess. I whisked her out of the high chair and into an already prepared sink bath.

Sunshine girl, all bright and clean. She's sitting up now like a big girl.

These are the flowers Curt brought me the other night. I always put my flowers on the kitchen island - either in this pitcher or in a glass milk bottle.

Wanna know a secret? I have another great giveaway lined up for next week. Yippee! You won't want to miss it.

Sweet, sweet pictures! Jackson looks soooooo grownup! And I love the picture of Annabeth and friend! Can't believe Annabeth is already sitting up so well. Did Star get in trouble over Superman? ha

Thanks so much for taking time from your busy day to share with us!

Cute photos! I remember when Rachel started eating carrots, she liked them and ate them so often that her nose turned orange! Thankfully, it was temporary, and when I cut back on her carrots, her normal color returned.

Hope Jackson will fall in love with preschool....

Blessings,
Adrienne

I'm sorry to laugh- but the picture of the super hero with the head off cracked me up. We have a new puppy who is the death of me. He goes from trouble to trouble-and is wearing me down-good thing he is so cute!

Just prayed for your mom and the simulcast tonight-our church is hosting and I have many friends going (I'm going on a date with hubby).

Annabeth's yellow dress is so precious! She is at such a fun age... I was just looking back at Caroline's pictures from that time!

I can't even begin to imagine what all that white stuff is all over! Oh Jackson - what a spirit! :)

She's adorable! Yay for first days/weeks of school. I just had a little nap mat drama at my house...I had no idea what all went into the nap mat business. Smart one you are getting a post-carrot bath ready!

Just caught up on the last 3 posts because I too am working on scaling back on the amount of time I spend on the computer.

So glad you guys had fun in Wyoming.

I still think that sweet Annabeth is one of the cutest baby girls I have ever seen.

I totally get the whole dog thing.......we lost our 12 year old shepherd/lab mix this summer. I still really, really miss him.

And.....it looks like Jackson grew about 3 inches this summer!! Good grief!!

Ok, I think I'm all caught up now! Have fun at the Simulcast!

Oh! That picture of Annabeth eating carrots brings back so many memories. My Anna Grace (she's now 15 and doesn't like carrots!) ate so many carrots she turned orange...no lie she had an orange tint to her skin.
Enjoy!

I can't wait until her and Cael meet. It's going to be fun!

It's amazing how much both Jackson and Annabeth have grown over the summer! Jackson's first day of school photo is great--what a smile. It's hard to believe that Annabeth is sitting up so well, it seems soon, but I'm sure she's 'on schedule'. They're just growing up so fast!

I'm sure Star is REALLY sorry for Superman's decapitation!! :-) She probably misses Geli and your parents!

Have a great weekend...

This was a GREAT post, Amanda. I cannot believe how grown up Annabeth is getting! Why do babies have to grow so fast! Poor Jackson - I'm sure he didn't mean to be naughty. GRIN Gotta say - I laughed so hard over headless superman I had tears running down my cheeks! Good thing you're a dog lover! Glad you had a great vacation but glad you're back to the blogosphere. Missed you!

Girl those babies are just too cute! I use magic erasers on everything pertaining to my walls and leather couches and etc.

Morgan decided to paint the carpet last night with hot pink acrylic paint. I had just finished a scripture painting so she said she had to do her "crafteses" (crafts). BIG TROUBLE!

Before I dot all sorts of siesta/auntie type love on your angels...I just have to say that the story your mom shared about Jackson and caaaaaaaaake was a huge HIT! I've been saying that all weekend (much to my husband's confusion) and it's a hit on "the twitter" (along with pam case sharing that the church member who made the cake on Saturday was from her church!) caaaaaaake.

Good times!

So, I'm looking at these pictures and just how much they both look like they've grown! They look so big! I was trying to remember when I first started reading the blogs and I think it was right about 2 years ago! So, they have both grown a lot :-)!

I love that pic of Annabeth in the kitchen sink. How cute! It takes me back to when I used to give my babies' their baths that way.

The headless Superman made me laugh out loud!!!

I love the cake for Jackson's first day of preschool :) :) :) I love doing those kinds of things too~ although not necessarily a cake, it could be something fun to wear (new shoes that look cool, yay!), or streamers hanging from the ceiling :) Life's more fun when you celebrate!

Lindsee Lou said...

Jackson looks so big in his "going to pre-school!" picture. So big and excited!

Also, I love the way Annabeth is looking at Ellison and touching her. You can tell she loves her already! :)

And lastly, that pic of her in the sink?! Did she just love it? It sure looks like it.

Amanda, just had to comment and tell you that precious little girl is just beautiful!!
