Urgent Prayer Request for Debra's Family

I woke up early in the morning on Saturday and couldn't go back to sleep. I was staying at a hotel for the Siesta SMT Celebration and was sharing a bed with Marla. Not wanting to wake her up with my tossing and turning, I finally just got up at 4:30 and went into the bathroom. Curt had bought me a new Blackberry hours before, so I thought at least I could mess around with my new phone. I got on Twitter and saw that in those early morning hours there was a lot of drama unfolding. Jamie and her husband were in Orlando getting Amos. Their updates were so exciting. I could not keep from crying.

But Debra's messages revealed that Ronel had not been given his travel documents and they were not able to join the other adoptive families in picking up their children. My heart was so broken for her. I cried even more. Maybe one eye was crying happy tears and the other was crying sad ones.

Tomorrow Debra's husband, Ernest, will spend all day at the American Embassy in Haiti in an effort to bring their son home. Please, please pray that God will bring great glory and praise to His name by making a way for Ronel to come home tomorrow. What is impossible with man is possible with God. Ask Him to provide a person of peace - even a legion of people of peace - to open up the heavy, creaking doors they are facing. Thank you, friends. I hope to report good news soon!

Oh my, will be praying for God to open a door no man can shut for Debra. Pretty exciting for Jamie---there it is, rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep. oh my...and thanks for your very kind words. You have been the Fragrance (2Cor 2:14) to all of us in what you've concocted in blogville. And this SMT thing---it's the Living Word that changes us all. Thanks Amanda. Praying over here for open doors.

I've been obsessing over this all day. Woke up thinking about them, and haven't stopped since. Thankfully those obsessive thoughts have turned to many prayers. Still praying and believing.

Oh, Amanda! I have prayed and will continue to pray throughout the day - I've set my Blackberry to continually remind me. Rejoicing with Jamie and asking for God to do huge things for His glory for Debra.

Father God, thank You for Your good and perfect will. We praise you day and night as You continue to work all things for our good. We come before Your throne Father God now to seek Your miraculous will in the life of this family so badly wanting to bring Ronel home with them. Love in their heart has sprung up for this child. Father God let it continue to bloom and overflow as a family nurturing and developing a child into a heart like Yours. Make clear the way so Ronel may come home. Amen

Praying! This is the verse that God laid on my heart as I read about Debra: Isaiah 45

Praying God opens doors for them, that God will go before them and level the mountains that are standing in their way in adopting their son! Believing God to do a mighty work today!

"Again I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for it will be given to you by my Father in heaven, where two or three are gathered together in my name, I am there with them."
Matt. 18:19-20

Thank you God for hearing our prayers and bringing Debra's son to her and her husband. Amen!

I've heard so many stories about people not able to get their children and they are all stuck in the airport here. It's incredible the chaos this has created. I will pray for your friends and for the other parents waiting on their children.

Absolutely praying! I can't imagine how much more urgent it feels to get those sweet babies home.

Also, y'all pray for my brother in law TJ - He is traveling to Haiti this weekend to work relief.

Praying, sweet thing! What seems like a road block often times turns out to be God working behind the scenes. We don't understand it at the time ... but then stand in awe when the plan unfolds.
Love you!

All of your prayers are being felt.

E just sent me a text saying that he feels the peace of God's favor in all of this. We don't know his answer but we know his favor.

Thank you for sharing Amanda.

Debra:
Praying you and your family are covered in God's favor and that everyone you come in contact with will feel compelled to help you.

We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help and our shield.
