Bingo! Correction: McBingo!

*Thank you, Kelly, for helping me soar with the eagle's nest with a better title. You sharpen me.

The morning got off to a very early start. I woke up at 6 and started getting ready. I decided we should get a hotel room for tonight, so I had to get Jackson and I ready to be officially gone. We still needed to clean under the couch cushions (gross!) and do the pantry, so I tried to gently force my husband out of his slumber. He did get up immediately, but apparently he needed to have a 45 minute quiet time (and prayer nap) on this big day, so it was pretty much for naught. I am probably the one who needed an extended quiet time.

The packers showed up with a ginormous 18 wheeler that took up half the street. They came in and got down to business. Our sweet neighbors who have lived in their house for 25 years came over to say goodbye. Then Jackson and I left before I could get emotional about my house being dismantled. I am focusing on the greater glory of my new house!

Then I dropped Jackson off at child care and headed out to find a sophisticated wifi hotspot to do some work (and apparently, personal blogging). So here I am at McDonald's. I have to take some lunch to The Mister before 11, so this works a little better than Starbucks. Plus, their tea isn't that good anyway. I might as well have a sausage biscuit.

I just want y'all to know that there is a large group of senior citizens in the Mickey D's this morning and they are playing Bingo. They're calling out their numbers and all that. Classic. This is the kind of thing I will miss about Irving. Irving rocks it old school.

First to comment again! Wahoo! This is my lucky week. Leaving your 1st House is so hard, but a sausage biscuit can go along way to ease the pain.

Bingo at McDonalds. Too cute.

And if you eat a sausage biscuit, would you please eat one for me, too?! Yum.

I had to keep a lot of moves secret due to my husband's high-level corporate job, but never once the moving van arrived. I feel for you but understand.

The first night we were in a new house when #1 son was 18 months old, we announced it was time to take a bath. He was excited about it as always and started darting to and fro when we realized he had no idea where the bathroom was where his favorite task would take place. It was so cute!

Hang in there!

My math may be suspect but it looks like you only slept for four hours considering that your previous post was after 2:00 AM!

I am praying that God provide you opportunity in the hotel for a big, fat nap!

Praying for you and your family. If you find yourself driving through the Colorado Springs area--we'd be so glad to provide a bed, friendship and nourishment.

McBingo, McBlogging and I once took a McSpiritual gift test in a Mickey D's. It was only to keep me occupied while a friend studied, but it backfired cause the test raised all kinds of questions in me.

Hope the weather holds for your moving guys.

that would have made my day!

Very funny and very cute. I'm praying for your family as you begin this new journey. As I was reading your post, my thoughts went back to that day less than a year ago when we moved from South Texas. I still miss the area and my friends but I can see God's hand in where we are now and it is peace-giving.

McBingo is funny! Maybe you can start your own McBingo group in your new town. Hey, as long as the McD's has a playground you know you'll get all the mommies there. You could start a new trend! Forget Bunco! It's McBingo!
Praying for your move.

Amanda -
I remember when the big truck came in and packed us up in Oregon to move to Idaho. It was exciting. It helps if you have a home already bought or picked out to move into - I hope you'll do! It'll make it seem that much more fun knowing you will have a new place to decorate and make all your own.
Thinking of you during this emotional up and down week. :)

A moving company. I am so jealous.
I am also sooo glad that you had that help. Believe me when I say that you made the transition about 95% less stressful. I don't want to even think about all the times we have moved with babies crawling all around and toddlers climbing up the walls and no help in sight, just me and the hub loading the Uhual. A moment of sympathy for me please blogging siestas - and not just for me but for all who have had to experience such a moment. I don't think I would have ANY wrinkles if it hadn't been for moving!

Did they have prizes???
I have lived in Texas forever and think I've seen it all but not McBingo.
Praying for your move Amanda as you listen to Love's Voice.
May you gracefully live off the manna from your sovereign God.
Were they creative in their bingo games like cover-up or 4 corners??

Praying blessings for you in this move. May your emotions be soothed and memories be happy ones, and may God supernaturally surround you with His peace and joy today!

I'm thinking of you today as you drive off from Dallas. I know it's probably very hard to leave the house your brought Jackson home to. BUT I hope you will love your new home and I know you will make wonderful memories there. I hope the new church will be loving and just embrace ya'll and make you apart of the family quickly. I KNOW you'll make friends quickly. I can't wait to hear how it is all going. (I wish you were moving to NW Arkansas! I would take you to lunch!)

I'm so curious to know where y'all are moving. We have a McDonalds in our Walmart and when I shop early, there are always a bunch of seniors drinking coffee and talking. I love it!

Moving? What an adventure. I have stepped out of my comfort zone 13 times and now live in my 7th house! What a life - bitter sweet. I survived, though once I began writing "inhimwemove." I learned that almost every woman in the Bible moved! And she didn't have the packers or the humongous moving van. The women of old gave me a totally new perspective on moving. God bless you on this new journey!

Hello sweet girl...I understand so well what you are feeling. We are finally settled in McAllen but it was so hard to leave our Georgia family. Tyler woke up this morning wanting to go back and it took everything I had not to break down. I will be praying for you and your family these next several weeks as you adjust.

Love you,
Amanda

I just wanted to wish you a Happy Easter! Praying that God will provide all your needs according to His riches in Glory! Thank you for sharing His Wisdom so graciously. It touches so many hearts for Christ. Christ asked Peter to "feed my lambs...feed my sheep." Thanks for being a faithful disciple of Jesus Christ and reaching out to His lambs...His sheep...through your ministry. It is through the everyday living in the fullness of His Grace that we can have victory. You love Him so much and it overflows in your posts. Happy Easter. He is RISEN INDEED!
