Prayers for My Parents
Please pray for my mom and dad this morning. Last week we found out that their dog Beanie has cancer throughout her body. They will say goodbye to her this morning. I can't tell you how much they have loved their dogs and to lose them both in a span of three weeks is just hard. Thanks, y'all. My dad was in a car accident last night and no one was hurt. He fell asleep at the wheel driving back from Beanie's special vet in South Texas. He hit the guardrail while over a bridge, of all things. We know that God protected him and was with him. We are extremely grateful. I know God will let my mom and dad know He is with them today.

Oh, Amanda, this breaks my heart for them! First, I am so thankful your dad is ok! I am a dog lover myself...they are such dear, precious creatures who bring much joy. I am so sorry to hear about this and am praying for them...and for you too, to know how to encourage and love on them.

Oh wow, Amanda! First of all, I am SO glad that your dad is okay! What a scare. Secondly, I definitely will be in prayer as they say goodbye to Beanie today. I don't know why they have to lose both dogs so quickly but God does, of course, It doesn't seem fair - does it? I will pray that God will wrap His arms around your parents in a personal and extra special way.

Oh Amanda! I am so sad for your parents. Pets are pets, but they are sooooo special to the family they belong to. I know the Lord cares about this!!! I will be praying all day! Thank for the priviledge!
Oh Amanda, your family has become such a part of my family that I feel your pain (and share your joys i.e. Jackson and MK wedding). Please know we will lift your family up during this time.

Oh my gosh Amanda. Your parents will be in my prayers definately. I praise God that your dad's alright, thank you Jesus! And the news about Beanie shocks me, so close to Sunny's passing. And I'll be praying for you and Melissa too. Events like this show us how much we love family. The peace of the Lord be with you all.

2 dogs gone in just a few weeks. My heart is aching for them because I know how much they loved those dogs. And I know you probably loved them just as well.

I am a luker and not a poster but I just could not leave without letting you know I am praying. My dogs mean the world to me also and I hurt for your Mom when Sunny left and I can hardly bear the pain of Beanie.

I'll be praying for your parents. Many years ago, my brother fell asleep at the wheel after working all night. He, too, hit a guardrail that saved his life from a deadly plung. Everytime we passed that guardrail we were reminded what a wonderful Father we have that takes care of us...even when we're sleeping. That reminds me of a great book I read..."God Works the Nightshift" by Ron Mehl. While we are sleeping, He's still at work.

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear that. I can't imagine their sadness. Our dog is such a precious member of our family that I can't imagine how we'll be when he's gone. I'll pray for them right now. They've been through so much with their dogs and it's so obvious how much they cared for them.
I'm glad your dad is o.k., but I'm sure it shook him up thinking of the "what if's."

Oh my gosh!! I never understood people who said that pets are just animals - they're just as much family as their humans. Lots of prayers and (virtual) hugs for y'all and your parents!

Oh my goodness!! Of course I'll keep your mom and dad in prayer. First Sunny, now Beanie. . so much sadness. My heart is so heavy for them right now. But I'm very sure that God will provide a "perfect peace that surpasses understanding" for them.
And thank goodness your dad is safe. Honestly, it sounds like a miracle that he's okay. Yes, God is good even in our times of sorrow.

In Tennessee, I'm praying for your mom and dad and for your sweet family as well... specifically I'm praying that Psalm 121 comes alive (love verses 3 and 4!):
"He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep."
This breaks my heart - from one dog lover to another. I'm praying for them.

Amanda, my prayers have been with your family all day. I read your post first thing this morning, and then tried to explain to an office visitor why I was crying. I remember how awful it was to put my cat of almost 19 yrs to sleep last year - I can only imagine how hard it is to lose two such wonderful pets so close together.
I don't know you and your family personally, but thru yours and your mom's blogs you feel like best friends. And it hurts when friends go through such sad days like today. Just wanted to let you and your Mom & Dad know that many prayers are being lifted up for them today (and everyday!) And praising God for your Dad’s safety! Thanks for keeping us updated.

I will be praying, but will also be praising God for protecting your dad in the accident, glad that he is okay and that was not as bad as it could have been. Thank you for sharing with us - I know your mom loves those puppies, bless their hearts.
I remember when we found out my parent's dog, Tanner, had cancer. She had many of the same symptoms your mom described for Beanie. It was so sad, my mom was so torn up over losing her dog. They bought her for my brother but ended up keeping her when he left home for marriage and college a few years later. She was a good dog, a loved dog and she is a missed dog. I know your parents will be feeling much the same.

Thanks so much Amanda for letting us know about your Dad and Beanie so we can be praying. I know your Mom hesitates to say too much on her blog about the pain of losing a pet since she doesn't want to offend those who aren't animal lovers. We lost our darling pug in January of this year. It was nice to be able to come home to our chihuahua. If I had lost her three weeks later . . . . I just don't know.

My in-laws put their dog, age 16 down this morning. They are living with us right now, but they didn't want to tell me because of how attached I was to Taz...short for Tazmanian Devil. YUCK! I HATE that. Too bad I can't ship some flowers to Houston from the store I work at.

GOD had me praying desperately for your Mama last night. I hadn't read your post and was just directed here by someone else.
Our Father is so amazing in times like these. Call me crazy, but I could see your sweet Mama on her knees weeping and I just prayed and prayed and began weeping as well.

I loved Beanie stories! I can't see a gift bag without thinking about the story of Beanie's birthday... or the story about her hurt paw (saying... this is why I do the things that I do)
