The Year of Pink

*Okay, so I failed to communicate that today was the day that we found out we were having a girl, not her first birthday. My bad!*

The Jones family got a big splash of color one year ago today.

Annabeth, here's to monogrammed bloomers, adorable shoes, tea parties, playing dress up, dance recitals, pom poms, pink baseball bats, Easter dresses, playing in mommy's makeup, losing mommy's jewelry, the pilgrimage we'll make to the American Girl store, sweet 16, homecoming mums, decorating your dorm room, finding your first apartment, planning your wedding, baby showers, and rocking your newborn while you take a nap. I love dreaming in pink. And I still can't believe I get to. I love you, baby girl!

She is so cute. I have three girls and I love every minute with them (well, almost ever minute). Pink is in abundance in our house and I love it. Have fun with your baby girl.
Jackson is adorable too, of course.

Besides Harper (I have to say that) - she is the most adorable baby girl I have ever laid eyes on. You are so blessed Amanda!

My dad always said "There is nothing sweeter than a baby girl." With three of his own I guess he knew what he was talking about!

Your Annabeth is a sweetie. Enjoy her!

Oh, Amanda! My heart has never ached so badly for a daughter until I read this post. I love my son more than anything (we finally received the blessing of adopting him two weeks ago today!)...but I would love it if the Lord sent us a baby girl to love and call our own one day.

I had to comment because I'm reading with my own little lady who will be 2 in a few short weeks. When I clicked for a closer look at the shoes she pointed and repeated over and over, "Mommy, I those shoes on!"

What an adorable post for such an adorable little girl! My 4 year old son is sitting by me on the couch while I am reading blogs and he just told me, "That is such a cute baby." I thought that was cute and funny.

I think not.

Just got emotional, giddy, and weepy thinking about doing all of those things with Caroline.

Little girls are so much fun.... and I think that I should constantly remember all of their sweetness during the years of 13,14, and 15. :)

I am so happy that you get to dream in "multi-color" having both a boy and a girl but I am especially happy that you get to dream in "pink". You are definitely a girly-girl and having a girl to do all those things with is really special.

Erica said...

She is absolutely precious! It is fun to dream in pink, and purple, and bows, and lace, and bloomers...

Did I ever tell you we have an AnnaBELLE living net door and I keep calling her AnnaBETH ?!!!

amykat said...

one word: adorable.
I can only dream in pink - because i'm surrounded by blue! :)
But that's okay; I probably wouldn't be able to form good pig-tails anyway. God just saved some sweet little girl from bad hair.

Jenny said...

I cannot believe she is already ONE! There's just no way. Also, I saw you and the little mister at church on Sunday, I was floored at how TALL he is!!

Every little girl needs tons of pink. My fave right now is pink and zebra print - so every little girl can have a little attitude!

We just found out we're having a girl after having a boy first. I NEVER thought this would be so and its taken a little time to sink in. Your post encouraged me so much and gave me a little glimpse of what we have to look forward to...

Bless you!

FitzandMolly said...

Oh, the things you have to look forward to! I came home the other night to my shoes being strewn everywhere around the house. Mike said she was wearing them. And there is glitter everywhere (even in Joseph's hair) from her beautiful Tinkerbell costume for the Fall Vegetable. It's the best!

Fran said...
