Oh, the nerve of some insurance guy to come over and draw blood from my "beautiful veins" in my very own house. When I ordered my dining room table I never would have guessed that a stranger would stick a needle in my arm while I was sitting at it. AND THEN. And then he had the nerve to pull a scale out of his bag, plop it on my precious Adeline rug from PB, and weigh me. The nerve! At that moment my husband walked toward us and I hissed, My husband cannot know my weight! I stepped on the scale with great trepidation and, lo and behold, it wasn't so bad. I might even want Curt to know it. No, wait, I changed my mind. He still can't know. He can never know.
Energized by my 2 pound weight loss, I hit the gym last night. The scale there was not as friendly. Maybe I should just take the average.
I've learned something since having Annabeth. It takes more energy to feel bad about my body than it does to actually work out.
Enough about all that.
Today is Janelle's 30th birthday! Go wish her a happy day! She is going camping tonight with college students. Hopefully they'll make her some birthday s'mores!
Janelle, you are an amazing friend. Your gentle spirit, humility, compassion, and love for Heath and Ella are priceless. I can't wait to celebrate your birthday very soon!
Love, Manda

You are funny!
This--"to pull a scale out of his bag, plop it on my precious Adeline rug from PB, and weigh me"--was an "ohNOhedidn't" moment, if I've ever seen one. His wife would give him a black eye for it! :0)
You are a very sweet friend, Amanda. Yes, you are!
No he didn't. That is just wrong!!!
And girl- I wish I could keep up with your working out. You're amazing!!!!!!!
"It takes more energy to feel bad about my body than it does to actually work out." Wow! That's powerful!! Thanks, Amanda.

Oh I just can't imagine the nausea over stepping on a scale post-baby! I'm already feeling low about it and I'm only getting bigger by the day it seems...Pregnancy weight gain is not a glamorous thing! I'm going to have to ask the Lord to help me hear truth and not lies about myself when this is over! I'm already dying over these final weeks and the changes they are bringing to my body :) It's a good thing I consider this sweet baby worth it!!
Yeah...I remember when that life insurance lady came. Luckily for me it was a lady. Come to think of it, it was right after I had Brooke...what a horrible time to have to get weighed in order to qualify for a good rate!
Luckily, she gave me an extra inch on height!
I'm pretty sure that when you set a scale on a rug, it adds 5 pounds.
My scale is hiding from me...really.

I feel your pain, girl! We just signed up for life insurance policies too (I guess kids does that for you!)...and they drew blood and weighed me too! I didn't know that all that came with the application! Too funny!
haha, too funny!!! love your humor Amanda :o)
I say go with the insurance guys scale...and how are your jeans fitting...that is what really matters.
LOL Love the weight story. . . so true! ;0)
So happy to know a sister out there who will not share her weight with her husband. He knows everything else, but he can't know THAT!
Well, I must first say that you are crazy cuz ya look great! Also, what a lady you are. Me not so much. I tell Nate all the time what I weigh... and we always laugh because it's quite different now than what it was when we first married! -(Him too!!!) Love you sister and hope you are having a wonderful Saturday!

I'm gonna say it again. And again. And again.
9 months on, 9 months off.
9 months on, 9 months off.
9 months on, 9 months off.
:)
My husband's best friend sold us our life insurance and he was here when the nurse came to draw blood and weigh me. The nurse (who was a man)actually asked me my weight first THEN whipped out the scale! Thankfully I was only a pound more than what I had told him (and my husband and my husband's best friend..)I had just had my second baby at the time and remember just being mortified. Interestingly, he did NOT weigh my husband. That doesn't seem right, does it??
Scales are the spawn of the evil one!!
That is weird that they come to your house and do all that!!! I am sure you are looking great!
Hope you and your crew are having a great weekend!
Amen to that, Little Momma!: "It takes more energy to feel bad about my body than it does to actually work out." Spent a good deal of my life spending waaay too much energy on feeling bad about my body. The Lord has been working with me on this for sure. You are super cute and your husband thinks you are da bomb Little Momma!:):)
((HUGS))!, Blessings, Love in HIM!!!

Thank you so much Manda!!! Oh how my birthday party was not the same without you, Curtis and Jackson here! And of course sweet Annabeth! Thank you for the sweet words! I can not wait to see you soon. I love the Jones' so much!
My biggest fear is not giving birth, but one of the nurses blurting out my numbers! Is that not pathetic?! And I agree: there are some things husbands shouldn't know and weight's one of them!
So amen, sister!
(And I think you look great, so don't worry too much about a number!!)
