I need some hair advice. I don't know whether I should let Annabeth's hair grow out like it is or if I should go ahead and have it cut so that it will grow out nicely. And by nicely I mean not like a mullet. Or will it not make any difference? Do little girls have to have mullet hair before it gets cute? I need some wisdom.
Right now, her hair is starting to be thicker on top than it is on the sides. In the back, the bald spot has filled in 95% (I'm so mathematical!) and the hair is starting to get long on her neck. I'm inclined to cut it, but I wanted to ask you all first.
I waited way too long to have Jackson's hair cut for the first time and I regret it every time I see his pictures. I've sworn I wouldn't have an emotional attachment to Annabeth's hair such that I allow it to look bad because I'm waiting for some imaginary phase when one is supposed to cut their child's hair.
With that said, I hate taking Jackson to get his hair cut. We always get it cut super short and then let it grow out as long as we can stand it before we take him again. If it looks bad, you can know that Curtis and I are waiting until the other one gives in and takes him. I actually like it longer, but it doesn't stay cute throughout the day. He has thick hair and it gets poofy as the hours pass. I think it actually looks best when he's sweaty.
As for my hair? My roots are hideous. I'm getting them done on Thursday and it cannot come soon enough. Also, I've got a new part in my hair. I did not think it was possible to train it to part differently after so many years, but lo, it was! I was inspired by Making Over America with Trinny and Susannah to do it. I really like it, even though when I look closely at my part, I remind myself of a gremlin. The row of spiky hairs is almost comical. Thank you, baby bangs regrowth.
That is all for now. Please, if you have any experience with the delicate subject of baby girls and their hair, please take a moment to give me your advice.

I trimmed my little girls hair and once it was all in let it grow from there, but I am sure whatever you decide will be cute.
I didn't cut Emily's hair for the first time until she was in preschool. It grew out uneven at first (if you analyzed it) but not bad at all. It was uneven front to back til her bangs caught up with the side and back (at the haircut) but it was such a CUTE uneven! Like little layers of hair that flounced (new word alert) around as she played. The way the ends flipped up and were lighter than the top... precious. And of course she pretty much had a bow or headband in it when we were out and about. I would not even think of cutting her hair til she's at least 2. If you do, you'll never know what it would have done on it's own.
Emily's hair is SO thick, and she had/has this ginormous cowlick up one side of her hairline where bangs would be... so it never laid even. But it was adorable. Annabeth's will be too, I'm sure!
My vote: Give it some time.
If she's older when you cut it for the first time, you'll get a nice little section to tie up with a little ribbon in her scrapbook... :)
My older daughter had a hair pattern just like you describe! I went back and forth before having it trimmed to be even but once I bit the bullet I was so happy I did! She didn't have 'big girl' hair texture until well after her third birthday, but at least it was even. Good luck! =)
My advice is to go ahead and cut it. That mullet will just continue to grow and the sides won't catch up with it. Plus, it will make it look thicker and Annabeth won't ever feel the shame of sporting a mullet.
Ok. This one I have PLENTY of experience with. Cut it. I wouldn't worry about the top/sides, but definitely cut the back. Just cut off those teeny baby hairs (sniff) to make it even. It will look a LOT thicker and more like a "style." My neighbor just cut her daughter's hair (same thing - just the back) and is very pleased. I did the same with all 3 of my girls.
Trinny & Susannah crack me up. I never remember their show, but am always pleased when I stumble upon it! They aren't afraid to speak their minds or "touch" anything they're talking about, huh? :) LOL!
I have a little girl and I always found that it looks better in the long run if you trim it and even it out a bit. Obviously she is adorable and would look cute however her hair is!!
No, you must let the mullet grow. Trim, if you must, but just let it grow for the most part. My girls, 3 & 5, never had their first "cuts" until after their 2nd birthdays. Just keep a bow in it at all times, and it will always look darling. A big ol bow fixes anything! :)
My personal opinion would be to let it grow out naturally for awhile. You do such cute head bands and all anyways - you can easily hide inconsistencies.
I have two girls. And the first time you get their haircut - it changes it forever. I don't know why - but it does. My oldest had natural curls - once those were cut they never did come back! My youngest had blonde highlights on the very tips of her brown hair. Gone. (of course her hair had to be trimmed at some point and you should have seen her peacock of a "do" when she was little. We could not flatten it for anything until she was 6 months old!)
Whatever you decide - do whichever one you won't regret. If you will regret cutting it - hold off. But whatever happens - it will be all right. Annabeth will still be beautiful. :)
I say cut it. If you trim it all then it will start growing more. I trimmed my daughters bangs a few times and they grow back so fast. I'm about ready to trim again but I love her ponytails too much. I just have to keep her hair up so it doesn't get in her face.
My Elliana had very uneven hair. Hers looked more like Carol Brady during the late 70's shag. Minus the flip. I kept waiting and waiting, too. Hoping it would get long and luxurious.
But then one day, I just set her up on the barstool and cut it myself. A cute bob as short as the shortest layer, about to her chin.
Oh. My. Word.
There is NOTHING like a little bob haircut with a bow on a little girl. I totally did NOT regret it.
That was over a year ago and I have not had to cut it since. It is now to the middle of her back. Long, dark and straight. Not a bit uneven.
Cut it.
Sandy
I remember my mom coming to see me and my first born when she was a baby and begging me to please cut her hair! She recommended getting her hair shaped just a little bit to make it look thicker. I was so glad I listened to my mom...she was totally right and Hannah looked so much better.
All 3 of my girls had really thin hair as babies and it grew out so weird until they were about 3-4!! But behold....the hair does cometh :) My 9 & 5 year olds have beautiful thick hair...still waiting on my 4 yr olds to kick in!!
I have no advice other than this: whatever hair you leave on her head, make it big, Amanda. It's your God-given duty as her mother. One day you'll be able to pass on the teasing comb and velcro rollers into her little hands, but until then, you are all she has in the fight against flat hair.
Oh, I am having the same issue. I was going to ask this very question too. I'll read what everyone else thinks, cause Mollie has developed the mullet, like Billy Ray mullet and the sides are all short!
I was in your shoes with my little girl six years ago. I was afraid to go ahead and cut it...then, GASP!!!!!! my mother decided it was better to ask forgiveness than to ask permission, and she "trimmed" it one day while she was keeping her! I was shocked and appalled that she didn't ask me first...but in the long run, I think I'm glad she cut it and spared Mary Beth those months with a mullet.
My little girl is almost 14 months and has very little hair on the sides. Very little. She has some in the back and a lot down the middle but her hair is also very fine, very fine. I haven't cut it yet b/c I so do not know what to do with her hair. After 2 boys I'm at a loss :) So I just continue to put bows in her hair and move on ... One day I'm sure I'll be forced to make a choice and I'm not looking forward to that day.
Yes, cut the back a little if it looks like a mullet!!:)
When my baby girl Aliya was about 6months one side of her head was almost bald and the other had a ton of hair (because she favored one side while she slept).
I am so glad I cut the long side to match with the bald side. Poor thing! It all evened out perfectly and the sides are the exact same length now.
I have 2 daughters ages 3 1/2 and 1. I let my oldest daughters hair grow and grow because I was attached. We cut it at 11 months, but she started out with a ton. It looked like a mullet and I too wish now that I had cut it sooner. My younger daughter had a lot of hair, as well. I trimmed up hers myself when she was about 4 months old because I didn't want to risk hers doing the same thing. It didn't and is growing evenly.
With that being said, if you think Annabeth's hair is starting to grow not so nicely, you should just have a little trimmed off. It will be so cute! I hope this helped!
I love how your shocked that you need hair wisdom - WHO IS YOUR MAMA!?
I say get it trimmed, but see if you could tie the teensiest bit of ribbon and make pigtails (for a photo opt - of course)
'shape' it up! It will grow out better... My daughter is 2yrs old and we've had hers trimmed twice, and cut once. I always hate to take her, but after I do and look at pictures I am so thankful we did it.
I have three daughters so I consider myself an expert. Ha! I say cut it.
My second daughter had this long thick "Tail piece" and it had to go. I at least put the pieces we cut in her baby book, it made me feel less guilty!
My little girl's hair grew the same way it sounds Annabeth's hair is growing. I did trim the hair around her neckline to give the front a chance to catch up, so she wouldn't look mullet-y. I guess it all depends on how fast it's growing. But I say CUT. :)
I think a trim is perfectly fine! It evens it out and looks really cute!
That being said, I never had to cut my oldest because hers grew together, but I think I will with my youngest.
I began trimming the hair of my girls well before they were a year old. It definitely needed some "upkeep" to grow it into a sweet little style. I just never did the bang thing with them. Now, if I could only get them to keep it looking cute...they're pretty rough and tumble!
Good luck!
I think bobbing it in the back to even it out is a great idea. i waited too long to do it with my little girl, the before/after pics are drastic. :) It just looks more finished and together. I vote cut. :)
I would go ahead and trim the back/bottom, but that's it. I have two little ones, my oldest is goldilocks, thick and gorgeous blonde hair that grows super fast, and my little one has very fine stranded curly hair that's been growing forever and still isn't even. but there's lot's of cute do's for thick on top, thin on the sides....think pebbles!
With my daughter - who had straight baby chick fuzz hair that stuck straight out - when it FINALLY started growin in, it grew long on top first. so I took her for one good cut once and then just kept trimming the back and around the ears until it all caught up. I always got compliments on how cute her hair was (even though it was drivin me CRAZY!!!), so I guess it worked out well!
We let our little girls' hair grow and put off getting a hair cut with both. Sydney has only had a couple of bang cuts so far at 3. There will be rough stages, but that is what the headbands, hats and barrettes are for...
Is Annabeth's hair getting really strawberry blonde? I love it!
I still have not had my little girls' hair cut. She's 2.5 and it reaches her shoulder blades. We used bows and parted it on the side. I wasn't into having bangs to constantly keep up with. My grandmother was a beautician and I was constantly asking her if it needed a trim, and her response was always, "She's got a perfect haircut naturally...no need right now." I haven't regretted the choices of not cutting and no bangs...I just wish that the girly whispy curls would have stayed longer. :)
Personally, we have never cut Emerson's because it has grown in "perfectly" from the beginning. All little girls hair grows in differently so I think it is okay to trim it if it is growing in unevenly and it is bothering you. I also think if you wanted to wait a few more months for it to thicken all over some and then trim it you would be fine too. She is just precious and until it really hits a growth spurt (you will know because it starts growing super fast like changing weekly) you are fine to just let it be.
Cut it.
My oldest daughter had really long hair at birth and it was very uneven - I started trimming it when she was five weeks old.
Believe me, when you have a baby that's born with jet black hair and the new hair that's coming in is blonde, you start cutting off that old stuff as fast as you can!
My sweet JennaBeth who is seven months old has the long hair down the back of her neck too! I haven't been able to bring myself to cut hers either. All the other hair that is coming in is coming in sticking straight up. We call her "fuzzy top". Maybe I'll get some ideas through your comments as well. I just can't imagine cutting that little piece in the back though!
Whatever you want to do is what you should do. I wish I could show you a pic of my youngest daughter's hair when she was Annabeth's age. It was so comical. I didn't cut it and it grew straight up. It looked like Don King! I kid you not. It grew straight up for the LONGEST time. We got such a kick out of it. When she was about 12 months, it finally started to lay down.
Whatever you decide to do is fine!!
cut the mullet :)
It will be healthier when it grows out. You will eventually have to cut all of that hair off anyways. You can cut it to be a cute little bob until it all gets the same length.
I didn't read everyone's advice, but I would cut the back. My youngest had a head full of hair and at 6 months, I could take it no longer and evened up the back- it looked more like it was styled that way. My boy had the most hair of everyone- the tips were frosted when he was born. When he got his first [LONG overdue] haircut at three months, he looked like one of those troll dolls we used to put on the ends of pencils and then rubbed the pencil in your hand to make its hair stand out all over!
I didn't cut Emma's hair until she was over a year. And she was born with TONS of hair that never fell out. But the top layers of the back was growing so much faster than the underside of the back. I finally cut some of those 6 inch tails (I'm serious - it was halfway down her back!) and it looked so much cuter. I liked that she had such long hair at such a young age and was hesitant to give that up. I actually did it while she was in the bath. The hair was wet and I just cut straight across. Now the underside is curling, so we may have to cut again! But good luck either way you decide. :-)
Cut it. If nothing else, it'll make a fun photo post.
My girls have curls, so that hides a lot of the unevenness as the hair comes in. If it is bothering you, then you should trim it. It will grow back! :)
I was cracking up reading everybody's different opinions! We mamas have big opinions when it comes to our little girls' hair, don't we? :)
Liz will be one in October and has hardly any hair - except in the back. And she is adorable, but even Liz can't successfully pull off a mullet. You said you don't like some of Jackson's photos - don't do that with Annabeth. :)
I'm struggling with the same thing right now, only my little girl is nearly two and has very little hair. She has that long "tail" thing going in the back, but it's the only part of her hair that curls in the slightest, so I'm loathe to cut it off. Maybe on her 2nd birthday though...we'll see.
PLEASE report back on whatever you decide, because I am following in your footsteps of "baby girl" motherhood just a few months behind you! I was the same as you with my son's hair...he had a MAJOR mullet!!! :) Annabeth will be cute as can be no matter what you decide!
baby girl hair is a disaster? who knew....I have three girls and thier hair is the sourch of all manner of drama. My oldest, is straight as can be....she grows an enourmous nest on the back every morning. It has to be wet and blown-out (every day) to look at all decent. I don't even dry my own hair every day!!! She is four and I think all the baby hair is finally gone and it is slowly growing in evenly. I cut hers at 18 months, but I am not sure it helped.
My second has curls, so it isn't so bad....but she has MANY different lenghts. Her's grows faster. I had to cut the back right at one, because she was starting to look like Carol Brady....long mullet with a flip.
My new baby has cowlicks up front and a mowhawk in the middle....not sure where that is going to end up.
Not much advice.....cut it or not, I don't think it evens out for quite some time!
This is going to sound radical - but in India they shave baby girls heads before they are one to make their hair thicker. My sister and my cousin both had their heads shaved and they have beautiful thick hair. I was born with a headful of hair and my mom didn't want to shave - guess who has thin lank hair now - me!
So... my advice - cut it off or even shave it off. she's a total doll and will be even with short hair.
Color for me tomorrow and it will not be a day too soon.....
We let our daughters hair grow out. It took such a long time! My husband called her hairline "old man in reverse" because the back grew in long before there was actually a need to trim her bangs. I understand the dilemma; hang in there.
My opinion - for what it's worth - is to trim it, it'll give a little more intentional shape to it.
Having said that I'm just cracking up cause both of my daughters were AT LEAST two years old before they had as much hair as your daughter!!
OK, so I have literally NO EXPERIENCE with children of my own, but my own opinion is (not that it's worth anything, but my advice is free-ha!)--she's your baby, and if you don't like the look of her hair, then cut it. You said you regretted getting Jackson's hair cut now that you look at his pictures. Annabeth is far too young to have an opinion--so do with her hair what you like, while you have the power to do so (i.e., before she has her own opinion!) :)
My advice as a hair dresser, auntie and not a mom(yet) is to trim around her neck just a little and blend with the top and sides.Once it gets longer you may have to cut off more than you would like in order to blend it.Once you trim it it will probably start growing a lot faster.
Great question!! I'm also a few months behind you with my baby girl and have been deliberating about what to do with Ava's "wild" hair! I want to do some trimming, but I scare myself a little bit too :) How will I know when to quit??? I just might have to do it in the presence of someone else so that I stay under control :) Ha ha!! Thanks for doing the research for me!
First of all ... Don't shave that babies hair. Secondly, With my 2 year old I had to just let it grow out. We were never without a bow in our hair in public, but you kinda have to get through the awkward stage. If it's terrible in the back, then it's probably just fine to trim it a bit. Otherwise, let it grow, I'm sure a mullet would be cute on her for a few months. And it would get give a shout out to your Arkansas roots. :)

Well first, I want to know how you got a new part. I need one. And I think I have these baby bangs you speak of. :)
I have no advice for baby girl and her hair- mine were all bald and Baiely didn't get hair until this past year. :)
I have 2 girls, now 2 & 4. And they both sported the little girl mullet. It pained me. I cut my little boy's hair starting at 7 months old because I couldn't stand to see his hair lay over his ears and down his neck. But I wanted my girls to have longer hair so I would only trim the back to even it up a little. But I always pulled the top up, usually in a little "whale spout" pony tail or two so the uneven lengths weren't so obvious. My 2 year old's has now grown out and I can do most 'do's on her. And my 4 year old's is longer than mine and a lot thicker-so fun to play with.
As for mom's hair-I just got a new flat iron and I actually enjoyed doing my hair today! Why do we think we have to keep everything until it dies? My old one was 10 years old and was probably frying my hair!
I didn't cut either of my girls' hair until they were almost two. Mainly because they couldn't sit still long enough and I didn't want a huge chunk snatched out of their heads because they wiggled too far at just the wrong time. (With my boy, I figured we could compensate any misfortunes with a buzz cut--not so with the girls!)
I just grinned and beared it through the whole mullet phase, but we kept bows and ponytails in their hair as often as we could. This is easier said than done!
If you do cut it, it'll be more even and seem thicker, but it'll be short, so you'll probably have to do the bow thing anyway.
Hmmm...I'm not much help with this decision, am I?
You know what? You cannot go wrong with what you choose in this instance, so go with your gut feeling.
And show us a picture of your new 'do! :)
I just wanted to tell you (off the subject) that I watched dvd lesson #4 of "The Inheritance" this morning and had tears streaming down my cheeks. SO precious!
I was in San Antonio when you were pregnant with Annabeth and kept up throughout your pregnancy through the blog, so when your mom was telling about Annabeth being born that morning, it was just too sweet.
I feel like y'all are family!
It's been too long for me to remember when I cut my daughter's hair. She's 27 now. Sorry....no help there.
Have a great day!
Valerie
Hadley had so much hair we cut it @ 6months.
More hair funk? Lord, no! Hopefully the advice you receive will prevent Ellison's hair funk in a few months.
I would think trimming the back wouldn't hurt anything. If you shape it up, it will have a tendancy to thicken and grow out evenly. She's precious and her headbands and bows are just the icing on the cupcake!
Hair can cause such anguish for all of us!
My little girl is 10 weeks old - so I haven't thought about this yet. I'm anxious to read the advice that others give you.
I have a 3 year old boy who does NOT like to get his haircut either. So much so, that I now cut it myself. LOL.
Blessings,
Kate :)
Is Making Over America not a WONDERFUl show? I cry every time I watch it, because they really do boost self esteem, and do an overall makeover. And I love Trinny's hair color, I wish I had it.
As for baby hair: trim it so it looks nice now, and will grow nicely. I don't have a daughter, but if I did, I wouldn't want her to have mullet hair.
I am with everyone else who preaches "cut the mullet!"...but leave the top and sides.
When it all starts to fill in and catch up, let it all grow!
That said, I feel led to add that it's best not to decide on bangs until she's older...because when you are fighting awkwardly growing bangs AND mullet re-growth, it gets tricky.
It's totally up to you. My tendency would be to cut it UNLESS she has a rat tail that comes out. Cut the rat tail.
My friend sent me this website:
http://babybangshairband.com/
Before you click to enter the site, watch the picture on the page...it changes.
I would NOT recommend getting Annabeth one of these.
Please don't feel like you have to post this comment just in case the creator of the baby hair band thing is a reader of yours. I couldn't find a place just to email you about it. :)
I have 2 daughters. One is 20, the other is 11. I always let their hair grow long when they were tiny. But I did not use head bands. We put their hair on top of their heads like a little fountain and put bows and ribbons in front of the rubber band....kind of like Pebbles on the Flintstones...only without the bone. And they also wore "puppy dog ears". Like pig tails without the braiding. Then as it grew very long, french braiding and other styles were funner with the long hair. They both still wear their hair long. There was never evidence of a mullet because of the way they wore it. My vote is wait.
Either way you do it...Annabeth will look adorable.
Melana
Hmm, this is a tough one. Baby girl hair is a powerful emotional attachment--and I can say that with confidence, because Addie still hasn't had an official haircut, and she's 3 1/2. Yikes! But she has really great hair, so I just let it grow all wild and romantic and hope she pulls it off well.
That said, I did trim it a little when she was a baby/toddler, because she had one lock of hair about 3" longer than the rest, and it looked weird. So if you don't like the mullet, trim it slightly so you'll continue to love her photos. Or, don't, if you can't stand it.
Clearly I'm not very helpful :)
I have four girls:)...and I vote cut it!
I saw you tonight and immediately thought, "Wow her hair looks so pretty!" Then I remembered you had just made this post! You were having a great hair night, whatever you did, it looked gorgeous!
I cut my girls hair... it ends up being thicker and doesn't go through such a scraggly stage : )
I was just looking at Mac's hair today and thinking about how sad I will be the first time I have to cut it! My Mom always talks about how hard it is to cut a little boys blonde hair and have it look good...
Trim her hair if it's bothering you...bows hide a multitude of sins! =)
I didn't trim my baby girls hair. She had it pretty thick on top, so I just started putting one of those pink cushion rollers in at night, then would pull it up into a teeny ponytail. It was so cute this with little curl on top of her head.
I say give it a little more time.
Oh my word, let me tell you, I was SO NERVOUS about cutting Amelia Kate's hair for the first time. She totally had a mullet. It was driving me bananas, buuuut I didn't want to screw it all up. I finally cut it, and I loooooooved it. I took before and afters and couldn't believe that I had been letting her run around with that mullet-do. I was so happy I decided to trim it up. That was last December, and the pictures of the mullet-do (er, the "mullet-please-don't") are posted on my blog if you need visuals...haha! Lawsy mercy...I don't even want to get into talking about this mess on top of my head....
I have 2 girls and yes we had to suffer throught he mullet stage before the cuteness came in!!! But I have a friend who cut her girls hair and it was cute, but she had to keep cutting it!!!
This is such a hard topic! I am still trying to figure our what to do with Caroline's hair. She has a little bit of a mullet but it is so curly that sometimes it looks fine. My mom said she would disown me if I cut her curls!! LOL! But I do have a friend that let her little girl's straight hair grow in hopes to let some hair catch up and it never really did. She finally got a trim and INSTANTLY loved it and regretted that she hadn't done it sooner!
My daughter's hair was longer on top than on the sides too and I just started early with the "No Slippy Hair Clippy" clips to keep it out of her eyes. The sides grew quick to catch up. I never cut it until this year (and even then it was just a trim on the ends.) She is now almost 5 and her hair is so long and beautiful. We get complements on her hair all the time.
This is funny. I never cut E's hair but she had a ton of it, everywhere. I have trimmed the sides of Price's hair already for the same reason - didn't want to see him sport a mullet! Whatever you decide, she's a doll!
Amanda,
I was sitting just a few rows directly behind you last night at bible study and trust me... your roots look just fine! In fact - I was noticing how beautiful and healthy your hair looks!! So no need to fret!
Mammy
I have absolutely no advice, just wanted to chat...actually reading these comments is making me laugh! Hair is so funny! I just had my first girl after two boys, she's about two months younger than Annabeth, so I'll be where you are soon...
My boys had my naturally curly hair, though blonde, and I waited and waited to cut it. However, so far, my daughter's hair sticks straight up (and she eats her bows!), so much so that her Daddy calls her Spike. (I'm curtailing that quickly) I just know I'm going to be some bummed if she ends up with straight hair after two curly headed boys!
Good luck deciding...and don't worry too much about the long term effects...for all of our worry, hair really does just keep on growing....
Hey Amanda!
I am so with you on not wanting my baby girl(s) to have a mullet! What we did with the oldest two (and will do with Abigail once she recovers from this bald baby with a mohawk and ducktail 'do) was simply use a little bow to pull back the bangs as they grew and once the back needed trimming we did that. Let the front grow, trim the back. Do a cute little bob-ish cut that almost tapers around the face for a while and it will eventually all be even. No bangs + no mullet = success in my book! :)
I just dealt with this (twice) with my 5 month old. She was born with a whole lotta black hair. When it started to thin on the front, she had this huge mass of hair at the top/back and I finally cut it because it was just silly looking. Then the long thick part at her neck just looked strange so I trimmed it the other day. It's not perfect and I should've had my hairdresser do it, but when you think of these things at 9 pm and want it done NOW, well momma just gets it done. I'm putting her phases of hair pics on my blog today if you want to check it out.
I say let it grow out. :)
I trimmed my daughter's hair just in the back a few times to allow the top to catch up a bit. Then the top got long enough that it just looked like she had long swoopy bangs.
My youngest was born with a mullet...just like Joe Dirt. You should have seen the look on the faces of my Mom, husband, and nurse when I asked for scissors to trim it. They all freaked out...NO!!! I held off for about 2 months, at which point, I could not stand it any longer. The hair was growing down her neck, and with the bald spots, her hair was just a mess.
She's almost 11 months now, and I've trimmed her hair two more times. I have to admit, as much as I fought the need to cut her hair, it looks so much better, and I am glad I did it.
Let it grow. I have yet to cut my almost 3 year olds hair and it is long and pretty. I love the texture. It just changes after it is cut.
Little Momma, I don't know!! I'm not qualified yet:) If she has curls, grow it out!!! Yay, baby girl curls!:)
katiegfromtennessee
i like to let it grow out naturally, you never know if she might get curls! and if you cut it too early, it might stunt the curls. at least that is my theory! :) she is such a beauty, it will be cute whatever you decide to do.
I totally feel you with the switching of the part. After 23 years of one way, I have switched this year and have little baby hairs all over the place.
It's finally trained after almost 6 months and looks much healthier, but the random hairs still crack me up!
I'm in the same predicament. Sarah is 7 months old and had rubbed a bald spot in the back of her head. it's growing back now that she sits up and also now that she sleeps on her belly. So..that's a hard thought. It's not even and kinda looks like a mullet and it never stays neat so i'm going to cut her back all one level so it can all grow in pretty cute. we shall see.
I say cut it.With my first daughter,I didn't have her hair cut until her 2nd birthday and everytime I look at pictures of her I am like "what was I thinking?"!My second daughter got her hair cut right after her 1st birthday. It looks so much better.Of coarse anything looks better than a mullet!stha
