God's Eyes Are On Sudan

Back in November I let you know about our friends Vernon and Amber at His Voice raising money to build another self-sustaining orphanage in Sudan. The song "Actions Speak Louder" was available to download for 99 cents and all proceeds went to His Voice and the new orphanage. I just watched the video and wanted to share it with you guys.

Tomorrow Southern Sudan will begin to vote on a referendum that would make it a nation independent from the government of the North. This is huge. You can read about it here. Let's educate ourselves and be praying for our brothers and sisters in Sudan. If you'd like to get involved in helping God's family there, consider partnering with His Voice. God is enabling them to have a powerful and effective ministry there.

Swoope "Actions Speak Louder" ft. Lecrae, Tedashii, and Jai from Collision Recs on Vimeo.

Thinking about what John Piper said. What's at the bottom of my joy...or, what's the joy I would get from helping these people in Sudan? On the one hand I would get temporary relief for the hurt I feel when I see suffering, but that's not enough. The greatest motivation is that He be glorified (made known and represented accurately). This video makes that clear. We serve a God who rescued us in the spiritual; therefore, we must be rescuers in the natural, to paint the picture of that spiritual truth. Thanks for posting. I need to see these things.

It would just about be worth the cost of a plane ticket to sit face to face and talk to someone working through these questions. So much I want to say and ask, but the comment box doesn't work so well for that ;)

I enjoyed your Christmas recap. And thank you for posting this video and the links. We live in such a safe, stable country (for the most part), and I never want to forget those who don't.

The Sudanese people and all that that area is going through is increasingly on my heart!
I just started a book by Kimberly Smith (cofounder of Make Way Parners) titled "Passport Through Darkness".
Praying about what I can do to help these anti-trafficking ministries...
