Espero que...

I wish my fingernails weren't like paper.
I wish I could renounce fried food and cheese.
I wish the floors could clean themselves.
I wish I could pick up my mother-in-law from work and take her to lunch.
I wish the world weren't so crazy.
I wish I had the stomach to watch anything political on TV.
I wish I would go to bed earlier.
I wish I would read the new book I bought.
I wish I could make a roast and mashed potatoes like my mom.
I wish I could be impervious to merchandising.
I wish I would realize what's going on when I have a day when it seems I've totally let myself go, everything is harder than it should be, and I have no coping skills.
I wish I liked more sophisticated food than pizza and hamburgers.
I wish I were better about calling.
I wish I could spell exercise and surprise without second-guessing.
I wish we could stay up late playing dominoes with Curt's grandparents.

You and me both on all of those.

Well, except for maybe playing dominoes with Curt's grandparents. I mean, I'm sure they are lovely people but they don't know me and it might be awkward.

Bless your sweet-AUTHENTIC-heart.

I wish I could have given you a big hug on that day of BLAH...here is to Tuesday being a better day!

(I wish I could spell exercise and surprise without second-guessing too! How funny!)

I'm with you on all those things, except the political one. I just don't have a desire to get into that. I know that I should... I loved your list.

Amanda, I recommend Sally's (as in Sally's beauty supply) Hardener and Strengthener. And... and this might sound crazy, I prayed for my fingernails. God answered my prayer... I'll be praying for yours too!

What a great idea. Honestly, we all could use a little wish list "dream" every once and awhile.

I wish I had realized what I was good at/what I wanted to be when I grew up back when I was young instead of discovering it at 37.

I wish you would realize how fantastic you are -- seriously.

I wish you would see how many things on your list are designed to serve others -- and how awesome that is.

I wish I could have found another word for the sentence above so that I wouldn't have ended it with "is."

I wish the same for the above sentence.

But most of all...

I wish you'll never be hard on yourself. Never, ever. Eva'!

I wish I knew what espero que meant.
I took French. Fat lot of good that did me.

I wish you a beautiful day full of laughter and unsophisticated food and thickening nails and some unexpected treat. :)

I wish you knew how much I agree with you. Did that come out right? I agree with you that I wish for the same things!

Oh yeah, and I really, really wish I could spell suprise/surprise without needing spell check, too!

Happy Tuesday!

Amen to your list.

Yesterday was "I wish" day for me too.

I said to one of the sisters - "I wish things were different ... or I wish I was different." Sigh

Hoping today is a better day ..."His mercies are new every morning.."

Oh, Amanda, I just love you! Your blog just made my day. I cannot spell "excersize" either, and it's just good to know a SAHM out there as adorable as you feels the same on a ho-hum day! Your authenticity is a blessing to us lurkers. :0) (I need a new word for "just" maybe "like" -- Ha!)

I'm with you, except I also wish I didn't love fried pickles with butermilk ranch.

But I do, and now I am craving them!

I second you on the fingernails and the self-cleaning floors, especially! (Although my fingernails got harder during pregnancy.) Do you have hardwoods? Because they seem to get dirty so fast. At least carpet hides dust and stuff.

I wish my floors would clean themselves too. I am procrastinating right now.
I had to vote today. Yuck on politics!

I hear ya! I'm the same way about surprise... see I had to go back to your post and check myself.

Amy T said...

Thanks Kelly! Now I'm wanting some fried pickles!

And I wish the same on the fried foods.

and instead of clean floors, I would like laundry to fold itself, if you please. :)

I wish all the dust in the world (or at least all the dust in my house) would just disappear. Have a great Tuesday!

Cute post. I can relate...especially with the fried foods, the sophisticated foods and need for self cleaning floors!

I wish I could watch anything political without freaking out and being judgmental to the tv as if anyone could hear me anyway!!

And while we are at it I wish that I could at least be 28 and not have my face STILL break out! LOL

I wish the step stool hadn't slipped out from under me today causing me to all but break my tailbone!

And everthing on your list, well, I wish them too. I don't know your mother-in-law or Curt's grandparents but I'm sure we'd become fast friends!

Surprise gets me every time girlfriend. Every time! lol

I, too, wish I could make roast and mashed potatoes like my mom. Why does "mom" food just taste so much better? Maybe it's because we aren't fixing it? :)
I can't spell license without using spell check...

I wish I could leave a comment without mistyping the letters, so that it would say "anonymous." Hee hee. I tried, I really did!

I wish all your wishes would come true, except the one about fried food and cheese, which I read "friend cheese" and my stomach growled. A little of this fare could not be bad :)

I also wish I had a transporter and could give you a hug!
Praying for you. Your son's words are just darlin'. Priceless for sure!

I wish I could go back to "wishing". I am now too old to wish those things but I do miss some of those wishing times. I just got off a jaunt of "babysitting" my two teenage grandaughters and WHEW I am tired. I guess my wish is to have the strength back to wish for things like self-cleaning floors. But I can tell you right up front I don't think I could go back to that back-breaking schedule of having teenagers. I love them dearly but they are hard.

What a great list! And a great post! I've got my own wish list, not very different from yours. :) I think you are just darling.

Fun post! I do make a mean roast myself and it is easy so if you ever want the recipe I will give it to you! We have this at least 2 Sundays in a month. :o)

Love,
Patty

I think that there is something to be said for the stophistication of hamburgers and pizza.....being in LA where they are ever so UN trendy, I long for times at Star Pizza in Houston!

No nails for me either -when I was pregnant they were always so strong and long but truth is with little boys they really do not need to be too long. I am always cleaning mud or taking care of a boo boo or playing basketball with my guys so I guess they will work for now :)
Oh and so many times I think to myself why do I even clean the floor and if it could clean itself that would be super!!
Of course then my little guys would just come right back through it with their muddy feet - sigh :)

Have a great day!
Kim

Loved your list--especially the part about wishing you liked more sophisticated foods. I was just realizing today how many bean burritos I have eaten in the last week--totally sophisticated!

i just found your blog in the blogspot recommendations. I love what you have to say, I really like this post in particular...I may use your idea if that is okay.

I also have a son named Jackson, he is almost 4! The years go by faster and faster.

I love the colours and design of your page, it is very sweet and modern.
