Listed in order of importance to my son. Maybe you can guess why.
My desk (which is really cute when it's not a mess, but you can't see that here).
Coffee table
Ikea kids mini-picnic table
Kitchen table
Dining room table
The cute red one. (The only table, besides the butcher block table in the kitchen, that he finds impractical.)
Let's just say he spends more time under these than in the restroom. Doing his bidness. And, yes, he gets stuck repeatedly under the mini-picnic table.

Oh to not covet the desk. Love it!!
Well, when he gets under Bibby's table, I just sit under there with him until I have a strong sense that he is done.
Perhaps Bibby meant she gets a strong "scents" that he is done. :)
I enjoy following your blog and have never commented before; I wonder what it says about me that this topic is the one on which I choose to make my debut?
I've had my own potty training challenges, but your post reminds me of when my nephew (who will get a driver's license in a few months!) used to sit under any table he could find to "do his bidness" as well. Even better, if you peeked under the table to check on him, he would firmly say, "I POOP IN DIAPERS." I guess he just had to clarify that he would not be swayed. Always nice to know what to expect from your kids!
We've moved our little one's "prop" to make room for the Christmas Tree (I know.. it is early but we spend a lot of time out of town..) so now she likes to go behind the tree, which is creating some problems b/c I am freaked out about the whole thing falling and she likes her privacy. (She actually pooped in the potty a few nights ago, so hopefully we won't have to deal with hiding spots soon!!)
He's quite the little stinker, but he is oh so cute!
Well, I guess this is better than being constipated!
Hahaha LOL to mama Beth's comment! Beautiful tables and great tile too!!
Doesn't Bibby know the little dude needs his privacy!! ha ha kidding
Kids are so funny!
I love your desk! it looks like it would be great for scrap booking.
I am cracking up at Bibby's comment!! I can see the two of them sitting under her table.
My second son used to flip thier Little Tikes picnic table up and stand on it. I have a picture of this. Who knows why boys do what they do but they are fun!
BTW..Your dining room table is beautiful!
Tee hee hee!
Here you have combined "Parenting Today" with a fabulous flair of "Southern Living!"
I loved seeing your crib, Amanda :)
PS Can a 37 year old say crib?
Logan does that too! He likes to do his business and hide under tables. I recently stuck his potty under one of his forts that he likes to hide under hoping this will do the trick!
Our little guy laid down on Daddy's side of the bed to take care of his business...Daddy was NOT happy and explained Daddy does not do this himself. So. Baby Alive is on her way to our house so the boy can potty train her. Please, Lord, have mercy on me and let it work!!!
Oh my word. I totally did NOT get it until the end. Too funny!
My cousin Kelly (who is now a grown, mature adult) used to get down on her belly and scoot backwards until her lower half was under the couch (or the ottoman or whatever) and do her stuff. Then she'd scoot out, get up, and get her diaper changed. Did she think we couldn't see her?! (we took pictures)
LOL! I was wondering where this was going...taking care of bidness - too funny!
Our little man used to hide under our desk and tables to do his "bidness"! I guess all kids go through that phase. I remember thinking that he would never use the potty like he was supposed to. I even told him that as soon as he did, we would go to Toys-R-Us and buy a new train. (At that point I was not above some MAJOR bribery) and still nothing. Then one day, he just said, I have to go potty and he went. He wouldn't let me clap or make a big deal about it. But he remembered the train!
Blessings!
Denise
Your house is way too neat for you to have a toddler AND be pregnant!
I salute you!
I love the little red one.
I also have no doubt Bibby sits with him whenever/wherever she can...
Pretty funny! We are in the same battle with my nephew Cole! At school the kids like to go under the slide to do their bidness!
Also must say that it is so nice to see your momma's materials in your desk!
Must be a guy thing...
my son would do the same thing. I'd see him behind the recliner or somewhere in a corner and I could tell by the look on his face what he was doing. I'd say "Come on....let's go to the potty." NOOOO!
He eventually did go to the potty. It took a while, but he did finally do it. Hang in there.
ok, that made me laugh so hard! isn't it interesting how potty training takes so much of us??
At our house we always say we're going to hang a sign at the edge of our dining room table that says
MENS RESTROOM!
Ha ha, too cute! I was going to guess favorite places to climb... but wait, that would be my son. :)
Your home is beautiful. Love getting the little peeks from each room. You have a sense of decorating that I have never aquired, I'm sorry to say! :)
I love the table blog! Too cute.
Little Momma, lots of tables in your house, the picnic table is cuteness:)Aww, little Jackson gets stuck!:)...His bidness...you make me laugh! Is that what he calls it? Oh, funny!:)

AHHH! That's hilarious. Why is it they have their "spot?" Maybe you should move a table INTO the bathroom- then you're just one step closer, right?
Talk about tables that multi-task....
(By the way, I totally DID NOT see where you were going. So the last line cracked me up. Thanks for the Saturday night humor.)
I have a little boy almost the exact age as Jackson and he does the same thing. If we ask him what he's doing, it's always, "I'm just playin'." Ha Ha! We have figured it all out now. Aren't they funny?
Amanda that is so funny. Tobey does the exact same thing except that he also retreats to closets. We had a social with our sunday school class today and he retreated to a small table in the corner of the room to do his "bidness". The funny thing is the other kiddos there thought he was hiding and crowded around him=) I love your cute tables!
SO funny! The things I have to look forward to... :)
Oh, you have magical tables in your house that unclog colons, too? Maybe if I invent a toilet in the shape of a table, we'll make some potty training progress...
I feel ya, girl. I feel ya.
Robyn
I Loooooooooove your desk. Hunter used to run in circles really really fast and that was his way of telling us it was time to run to the potty...hilarious, I can picture it like it was yesterday!
1) Your tables are all stinkin' adorable.
2) I am cracking up because that is exactly what my little AND older brother use to do. No joke. When they went under a table, we knew to exit the premises.
So glad you shared! I'm going to Ikea next week, and I very much want that children's picnic table!!!
