Today's Happenings

Playdate with my old roomie Mel and her daughter Brynne, who were in town from Dallas. I got to see that Jackson has grown in the area of sharing since our mutual meltdown back in September. Yeah!

Lunch and Christmas shopping with my mom. Pregnant Girl and Menopause Mama did very well at the mall. Only one trip to the ladies room, no hot flashes, and enough patience to deal with the crowds. Note: when eating at Schlotzsky's, ask them to send the whole sandwich through the oven twice. It makes it even better!

Post-shopping hot tea and chocolate cake at mom's house. We compared Jackson and Baby Girl's 3D ultrasound pics. Also, my mom's border collie, Star, has suddenly realized I'm pregnant and she wants to snuggle the belly. I find this sweet, weird, and hilarious.

Fun night out with Curtis and Jackson at none other than CHUCK E. CHEESE! Jackson had a victory today! PTL!

Hubs finished our Christmas lights and they look amazing. Jackson is mesmerized by them. I think the goal of Christmas lights is to be one of those houses that, when families drive by, the little kids point out the window and say, "Ooh, I like that one!" Maybe when our kids are older I'll want something sophisticated, but for now we highly value the colorful and slightly tacky.

Is there really such a thing as tacky when it comes to Christmas lights...unless you leave them up after the 1st week in January!

Amanda,
In your last post you felt "weird". I've been thinking a lot about you ~~ I hope that you are feeling better.

So fun to go shopping with your mom. My own mom is not able to really do that any more so much. I miss that.

Have a Blessed Lord's day,
Dawn

Sounds like a great day...you are so funny referring to you and your mom as pregnant girl and menopause mama! Loads of fun you two must be right now!
So great that Jackson had a victory yesterday! I imagine that he loved Chuck E Cheese...too bad we don't have one here anymore...my nephew Cole might be motivated to use the potty if we had that reinforcer available!

Yeah, for potty success!! Be sure to take a nap before and after going to Chuck E. Cheese! That place wears me out!

Um, if your mom still has chocolate cake that is tempting her she can bring it to me. :)

Glad ya'll had a fun day! I LOVE this time of year.

Fun times! Sometimes I think the goal of Christmas lights is to see the bright spot on google earth and know it's coming from your house! Hope you have a wonderful week! :)

horray Jackson! God is helping you learn to go potty. We pray toddler prayers like that often, "God, help me go potty...help me obey momma...help me love my friend more than myself and share my toy..." It's a good reminder for this mommy. I need God to help me too :) so, do you think he connected his chuck e cheese visit with his potty success?

I value tacky as well. Life's boring without a little (lot) tacky.

Pregnant Girl and Menopause Mama... sounds like it could be a favorite superhero movie:-)
(Because you clearly have supernatural power to avoid hot flashes and meltdowns in the holiday crowds!)

How cute that Star snuggles up to your belly! My dog likes to rub his neck on my hair. It's weird.

Hooray for Jackson's victory!

Happy December, Amanda.

Good tip on the sandwich! Sadly the only one here in the North East is closing! AH! More reason to get home to Texas!
