Strange Words

Oh man, is it Sunday night already? We had a fun weekend but it flew by. On Saturday morning I picked up my friend Heather and we went to get our hairs done at Visible Changes in Memorial City Mall. We also did some shopping, which should go without saying. I lost another pound that day but it was not fat. It was many, many inches of my hair. I had asked my stylist to cut off three inches, which is typical, but she wanted to do more. I didn't realize how short it was til I got home. I think I like it, but I haven't had to fix it myself yet. We'll see. It's definitely different. I have a real fear of mom hair. Hopefully I have not inadvertently achieved my worst hairmare. (That would be "hair nightmare." Isn't that a gem?)

Later that afternoon we went to our Sunday School pool party. All the dads swam in the pool with the bigger kids and all the moms sat under the patio with the babies. Our class is very reproductive and there was no shortage of birth story sharing and pregnancy symptom comparing.

Jackson spent the entire 2.5 hours swimming. And just when I thought we had the child who could not be worn out, he uttered strange words from his mouth.

"I need to rest."

Beautiful words they were.

This was Annabeth after her first swim on Friday night. Ten minutes tuckered her out.

Here are Jackson and Annabeth with some of the sweetest girls we know. We missed you, K!

See what's in Jackson's hand? I got in the pool long enough to have a 10 minute water gun battle with him. I lucked out because he couldn't reach me but he didn't know it. I, however, got him right in the face for 10 minutes straight and he'd never loved me more.

Strange words indeed. My son looked at me Saturday night (after a full day of hiking) and said, "When is it time for bed??"

Can't wait to see pictures of the new doo!!

She looks so adorable in her little swim outfit! I think we need to see pictures of the hair! :-)

Okay. Style your hair where you feel comfortable and then take a picture so we can see!

I think "mom hair" is like "mom pants" - it's all in how you carry yourself. :)

I'm guessing he "rested" for about 10 minutes.

"Our class is very reproductive."

You should SO put that in the bulletin as an advertisement of sorts for your class. "Come join the most reproductive Sunday School class around!"

Oh I am so behind on reading blogs!
I love the Disney recap - the looks on Curtis and Jackson's faces while riding that motorcycle make me laugh
I love the 4 month recap of Annabeth and the sucking the thumb will be such a lifesaver for you - it means she can sooth herself - yippee!
And the water gun fight is awesome!
As far as advice about an energetic loud 3 YO I have 2 boys both very loud and energetic - instead of going UP with your voice go DOWN almost to a whisper
They learn - eventually :)
Heading out to the pool
Much love
Kim

Inquiring minds want to know what this hair looks like!

You do not have mom hair. At all.

Boys and squirt guns are the best. For Sage's 3 yr old party we planned the whole thing around squirt guns. Everyone, even the adults had a blast.

I've been a little road trip to Minnesota so I'm catching up today. Try taking vitamins that say they are for "Hair-Skin&Nails". You will be amazed at how fast your hair comes back..

Sweet pictures:). I love how Annabeth has her thumb in her mouth now....too cute!

Yes, please show us your new haircut. Last year I cut 12 inches off of mine for Locks of Love. I was terrified, but it was a cute new style. I had mixed emotions and actually still do. :)

So do we get to see the new do? Does it have red in it? :) I can only imagine how Jackson LOVED the water guns! How fun.

Oh, Amanda, my sunday school class is like that too, except for now, I can compare pregnancy symptoms, praise the Lord! I had a scare this weekend, Amanda, I thought I had miscarried on Saturday, but I didn't. I found out today that I am still pregnant. The Lord was merciful to me-very merciful. I know I am even more grateful to be pregnant, tinges of nausea and all...

Taste of Texas is where my stepmom and dad always took me for my birthday. Always. One time I went to their house and we started driving and they passed ToT, I was like, whoa? They said they wanted to go somewhere else. Ok, whatever.

Amanda. You know that place in the IKEA parking lot, Steak Kountry with a K? All the nasty fatty food you can eat for $6.99? THAT IS WHERE THEY TOOK ME. INSTEAD OF TASTE OF TEXAS. FOR MY BIRTHDAY.

It has been like 10 years, I am not over it yet. Obviously.

Last week I got four inches cut off. It is much shorter then I prepared for but it is MUCH easier to take care of. I have thick hair that has quite a wave/curl to it. It has had a lot of product in it the last week.

Your baby girl is precious with her thumb. My little girl sucks hers as well and I just think it is the cutest(when they are babies)!
