Tagged - Eight Things About Me

My dear friend Becca tagged me for this meme and since I pestered her for 2.5 years to start a blog and she finally did, I will oblige! FYI, Becca is having twin baby boys this winter. Yeah!

8 TV Shows I Watch:
1) House
2) Sometimes Oprah
3) 20/20
4) Cold Case
5) Without a Trace
6) The Office
7) Sometimes 30 Rock
8) Sometimes Jackson and I watch Full House while we're eating lunch.

8 Favorite Restaurants:
1) PF Chang's
2) Benihana's
3) America's
4) Pappasito's
5) Fuddrucker's
6) Luby's
7) Brenner's
8) Taste of Texas

8 Things that Happened to Me Today:
1) I had contractions all night long. (I did this with Jackson too.)
2) So I couldn't sleep.
3) I tossed and turned all night.
4) Then I woke up very tired and grumpy.
5) I got Jackson ready for MDO.
6) But I couldn't find the hiney wipes.
7) So I picked a fight with Curtis.
8) And we just made up over Mexican food.

8 Things I Look Forward To:
1) Going back for another 3D ultrasound today. We're getting a free do-over to hopefully get some better pictures of the baby. She wasn't very cooperative last time.
2) Making some hot chocolate later.
3) Jackson and Baby's new furniture getting here.
4) My sister and Colin coming home for Christmas this weekend.
5) Our LPM Christmas party next Monday.
6) Experiencing Christmas morning with Jackson at this age.
7) Going to Missouri the next day and spending a week with Curt's family, including Baby Cael.
8) Baby Girl's arrival in February!

8 Things I Wish For:
1) That my hair would never be dirty and always look naturally fabulous.
2) That all the clothes laying around my room would fold or hang themselves up.
3) That the B's of Doom would stop being so doominous.
4) That my children will love Jesus more than anything else in the world.
5) For grace to get through these last two months of pregnancy without being the grinch who stole Mommy.
6) For an easy time getting back in the swing of nursing and being up at night.
7) For Baby Girl to be easy to please.
8) That I will get back in shape easily.

8 People I Tag:
1) Lindsee
2) Alicia
3) Corey
4) Erin W.
5) Erin S.
6) Missy
7) Kristy
8) Kristen

What is it about "Full House"? My girls are crazy for it! And I'm with you on the #1 of your wishes about hair. I think ours are similar--taking FOREVER to blow dry. But I bought an amazing new hair dryer and I've been meaning to tell you about it, cause it made me think of you for some reason.

It's upstairs, so I'll have to send an email later!

Joanne

P.S. Wow, that was random. Think I need some more caffeine.

woo hoo sister...I'm all over it.

We like House, too. We love his crankiness! Hee hee!

Speaking of cranky: Chris' 81 year old Dad always misprounounces "Fuddrucker's" and "Fuddpuckers" with a similar word. We think he does it on purpose.

I may be silly and slow, because of my cough medicine, but what are the "b's of doom?"

Enjoy your sister's laughter!! I wish I could hear it, 'cause I KNOW it would certainly make my day!

I do absolutely love that show "Without a Trace". I don't know why. But it is a fave! :)

How fun that Melissa is coming in this weekend! My sisters and their babies and me and Grant are all spending the night at my parent's Friday night and doing our Christmas Saturday morning. Can't wait :)

I definitely just watched Full House this afternoon. I love that show with a passion that is probably not appropriate.

I also love Fuddruckers -- took my college girls there one time and we had the BEST time together!

Dear, dear Amanda:

I have never commented here before but have been reading you faithfully for quite a long time.

I just have to comment to tell you I read todays blog and laughed out loud more than once. You certainly have the gift of writing, and I look foward every day to reading about the Jones'.

Praying for all of you down in Tampa!

Well, I can't help with the hair thing, but I can definitely help with the second baby thing- I have it down to a science- as a matter of fact, I "trained" the last four babies that were born into our supper club. It's very very simple- all day long feed her every 2.5 - 3 hours- keep her up for an hour after she eats, let her sleep. My first one slept through the night at 6 weeks- the second one (girl) at 3 weeks (sleeping 6 hours at one time). They are both healthy as horses- neither have ever had chronic illnesses. The second baby is always more laid back- she won't have choice- just do your thing- take her with you- and she'll be easy easy! Now, feel free to smack me because I know you're tired of hearing all the advice- BUT I am a person who has to have her sleep- when my dr. told me "the secret" it changed my life- it's all about calorie consumption- not the time they eat. Hope it helps! Don't worry- just enjoy the time!

I just watched House for the first time ever last week.
My step-son was on it... he played the blonde high school boy who was the 'baby daddy' :)

Fun to get to know you a little better. I still love Full House. We grew up in the Philippines on the mission field and my grandparents would record an 8 hour VHS tape full of Full House. We watched those tapes over and over again.

8 things I wish for: I smiled so reading your wishes for those things pressing in on your mind and heart and loved how #4 was right there in the middle cause it's always the beat of your heart, isn't it? No greater joy than that happening...you did it for your mom. And Deut 6:6 - you'll pass your beautiful heart on to yours, you already have.

YAY! We ALWAYS make up over Mexican! My mother-in-law lives next door, so it's great to drop off the kids for an hour and hike the 3 blocks to the downtown Mexican restaurant! Our worst and best conversations have almost all happened at Old Mexico!

I so know what you mean about the ginch who stole mommy, I am due Feb 4th and I am really having to pray to get through the rest of this pregnancy with a good attitude. Hormones, gotta love them!!!

Oh Pappasito's-if only we had one here. YUM!!

Isn't that garland fun? I found it at Michaels for like 3 bucks-I only wish it said Merry Christmas instead of Happy Holidays...oh well.

You simply crack me up- I was laughing out loud with "the grinch who stole Mommy" and "the B's from doom"... Ha ha ha!

Hopefully baby girl cooperated and that all your wishes come true!

PS. Please tell your friend who is expecting twin boys that if she needs any help,I'm here! It was only 20 months ago that I was in her shoes...and I talked to any twin mom that I could to glean advice, etc... I'm happy to help if I can!

Hi Amanda! I've been reading your blog for a while now and I finally made my own! Check it out! Our kids are around the same age and I thought it would be neat to keep in touch through here. I know what your going through with getting ready for a new baby while having an almost 3 year old running around. I'll be praying!

Girl I feel bad I was practicing my slide show skills to see if I could put music to it and I think every time you have happened upon my blog I have had something to do with Shelby on there. I think that was a major run on sentence. I get nervous when I leave a comment since you have mad grammatical skillz. LOL!! Anyway, you are so sweet. I don't know how in the world you have time to do what you do and care about all the people that you do. Love jenny

Amanda,
Just wanted to send a quick note thanking you for mentioning the Motherwise bible study. We are expecting our first baby, a little lady, in Feb and this was just what I was looking for before little Eden arrives! I have been so encouraged! Thanks!
