Things My Babies Say

Annabeth, age 2.5:

"I need my feep fops." (Which I have not been able to locate for weeks.)
"Oh no! My Tom!" (On the occasion that one of her Toms falls off.)
"Hi _______! I tee teed!/I poo pooed!" (When greeting someone.)
"Look! A church!" (When passing an office building.)
"That's funny, Mommy." (When I spoke a blessing over her that she will love and succeed at cooking, in Jesus' name.)
"I need my pink dress." (When she wants to wear a pink dress.)
"Is that Cideredda?" (When identifying Cinderella.)
"I scared." (When she doesn't want to.)
"Come 'ere, Deckham." (When she's talking to our dog, Beckham.)
"Is this Mommy's truck/Daddy's truck?" (When we go anywhere.)

Jackson, age 5.5:

"Bibby, if I go poo poo will you get me a new toy?" (Because he's been around a potty training toddler too long.)
"Where's the Wii ma-rote?" (When looking for the Wii remote.)
"Can I choose the restra-not?" (When he wants to choose the restaurant, which is always McDonald's.)
"How many days until I start kindergarten?" (Five.)

i love that you wrote these down so you won't forget. i keep a list of the cute things my grandbabies say and i love to go back and read them. My youngest daughter is about to have her 3rd child - a precious girl this time - and her oldest boy who is 4 calls her 'waylah" instead of "Laylah". That should get quite a few raised eyebrows when they ask him her name!

I love it when Nina says ma-rote! in fact, whenever she says it right, I demand that she repeat it the wrong way.

I need to do this! My little one is nearly two and it's amazing how quickly we forget all the cute things they say!

Love these! Annalee had a book she recommended on her blog called My Quotable Kid that I bought and keep in the kitchen- I was having a hard time getting it all in a word document!

Love this! I may have to steal this idea if you don't mind. I was just thinking the other day that I needed to write some of the things my two littlest ones say, which are the very same age as Jackson and AnnaBeth! My thirteen year old might not appreciate such a post about her :)

So cute!

And I didn't write down my kids funny sayings, but still remember Heather standing in the window saying "cheese" every time the lighning struck because she thought God was taking her picture. And I remmeber my youngest son's response to someone losing a job because they fluncked their urine test... he was about three and he asked loudly in utter shock, "What'd they do... miss the cup?" Funniest thing ever!

So funny! This made me smile today. My youngest asks on Saturday mornings, "Are we having pamcakes?". I shoot "the look" to any family member that attempts to correct her. She's my baby and I want her to ask for pamcakes in college :)~Julie

How funny! My 5 year old calls restaurants "eating places" and of course always picks McDonald's!

Love this!! When my oldest daughter was younger and her two older brothers would annoy her for ANY reason, she would come to me and say, "Mommy! Dakota and Aaron did ______(fill in the blank), and they did it for a reason!". We most often never knew what the "reason" was...just that they did it for one! :)

I love that she says 'a church.' And Jackson on being around a potty training child too long, that is hilarious. I am thrilled and soft hearted for you as these 5days get closer to K.

Believe me it never stops. My teenagers still say things that make me laugh. I love being a mom for moments just like these. ;-)

Your kiddos are growing so fast! It's hard to believe Jackson is starting kindergarten, I remember when he was beginning to walk!!

Love that you're writing these down, very good thing to do!

I love the things kids say!!
This is a really good idea to keep a note of each fun thing they say.
I can tell I am already starting to forget the things my oldest use to say :(

A few of my all time favorites from my babies: "Crawlapilers" for catapilers. "Rest-er-haunt" for restaurant. "Oz-mos" for almost. And "You've been hit by a small hym-a-nal" while singing Smooth Criminal...

Don't judge me that my sweet, 6 yr old baby girl is listening to Michael Jackson. It's all her Nannie's fault :)

I love their word mix-ups. I know they'll outgrow them one day and that's ok. But until then, my husband and I will thank God for his daily dose of laughter through our girls!

Blessings over you and your family!
