Tonight I came across the wonderful list that Bee's husband created in honor of her 100th post. Somehow I was able to coerce my hubby into making a similar (however abbreviated) list for my - hold on, I have no idea what number I'm on - approximately 250th post. Turns out 25 is fitting! Here you go, straight from the mind of brilliant, amazing, handsome, strong, courageous, manly Hubs.
1) She has used the word “meme” at least twice. Which is at least two too many in my opinion.
2) The first week we met she wore her socks up to her knees.
3) Each of her pets have at least four names that are used on a regular basis.
4) Her favorite word is “redemption.”
5) She has toast and tea every morning.
6) If you are not careful she will slip by “facts” that later turn out to not be “facts.”
7) She refuses to go to sleep until I tuck her in.
8) For someone who is not pro-Halloween, she spends a lot of time picking out costumes.
9) We watched a movie on her front porch in college because her parents were out of town and I wasn’t allowed in the house. (Interestingly enough, I watched many times as her sister’s boyfriend walked by me on the porch and on into the house. I'm still really bitter 7 years later.)
10) It drives her crazy when my phone alarm goes off in another part of the house.
11) She puts more effort into her friendships than any person I know.
12) She is one of the most likeable people I know.
13) She hates styrofoam.
14) She hates palm trees because of their association with men’s clubs (the bad ones).
15) It makes her mad when I watch “Grey’s Anatomy” just so I can yell at those idiots.
16) Her favorite Disney princess is Aurora (Sleeping Beauty).
17) She doesn’t like listening to new songs on the radio. Therefore, her favorite XM station is the 90’s channel.
18) She refuses to watch a televised sporting event because she is afraid that she will endear herself to one team and they might lose.
19) There is nowhere in the world she wouldn’t go if the Holy Spirit’s wind was blowing us there.
20) She asks me if there is a tornado warning every other day.
21) She has told me she thinks she’s pregnant at least 75 times in the last five years.
22) The girl loves wedding cake. Which means I can never leave a wedding early.
23) She kissed a dolphin on the lips this summer. I later killed the dolphin.
24) She’s a great athlete.
25) She’s my partner and there’s no one I would rather ride off into the sunset with.

aww look at that. Curt's showing his sweet side. :)
wow...praying Jesus has me a hubs like that saved somewhere!!
you guys make me smile. :)
I, too, have been known to slip by "facts" that may prove later to be non-facts. We would be a wealth of false information if placed in a room together.
Yay for sweet husbands!
#9 cracks me up! I totally believe #11 and #12! And,I'm totally with you on #17!
Looks like someone is getting some serious hubby points.
Knee high socks - hilarious.
Your sister...sounds like she has some rebel in her.
I'm sad to say it, but the tornado phobia cracks me up.
Love it! His writing is as witty and humorous as yours :) I had to post a comment because this list made me laugh and because some of the items remind me of what my husband would say about me. And just overall the fact that the list reminded me of how husbands are good at making us laugh at ourselves and not take ourselves too seriously! And after reading this list, I believe #12 even all the more. Thanks for sharing, Amanda!

Very sweet. And I too ask about tornado warning often, except we left Texas months ago. Sad.
That is so sweet!
What a great hubby!
I dont' think I could coerce something like this out of mine!
I have the same love/hate realationship with halloween.....but costumes are just so much fun!
So Sweet!
I have to steal this idea and have my husband do one fore me.
I, too, am terrified of tornados ... storms ... lightning .. all of it, actually.
I love the remark about having to sit on the porch to watch movies. That's hysterical.
Nice of your husband to do that. I am with you on #7 and #21.
I'm with you on styrofoam, girl! It is just wrong. Same with the cotton in a tylenol bottle. Eeew. I might make my hubby do this meme as well! I loved Curt's list. He clearly adores you!
You don't need to post this comment; I just wanted you to know that for some reason you were on my mind so much yesterday and I prayed for you frequently throughout the day. I think I left a comment a while back that there is something about you and your life that endears you to me- ministry wife, first baby, etc. It's true. Bizarre since I don't know you, but true. But I DO think of you frequently with the brush tied to a drawer your mom wrote about in Feathers... My four daughters ALWAYS take the brushes and I'm left looking like I have a messy mop on my lovely head.
Praying today is a beautiful tornado-free, palm tree-free day for you.
love the list!
i am sooo with you on the wedding cake...i'm usually first in line...and we can NEVER leave a wedding until they serve the cake.
#7 = amen! me too!
#9 = i'm DYING over this. LOL
#21 = i did the math... there's only 60 months in the last 5 years, and we all know (thanks to your mom!) you were pregnant for nine of those... plus post-pregnancy delay..... so, um, well.... sounds like a little paranoia to me.
;)
loved this post. made me smile today.
I was cracking up at this one: "9) We watched a movie on her front porch in college because her parents were out of town and I wasn’t allowed in the house. (Interestingly enough, I watched many times as her sister’s boyfriend walked by me on the porch and on into the house. I'm still really bitter 7 years later.)"
And I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who shares #18. I always get too sad for the other team...
Precious Amanda! (Or her hubs!) :)
So sweet and so interesting! :-)
How sweet!
Cindy,
Yesterday morning when I looked at everything on my plate, I wondered how on earth I was going to make it through the day without a complete meltdown. It was only a work of God! Thank you for praying for me. I always need all the help I can get!
Blessings,
Amanda
Precious...and funny! I like Curt...he's a good fellow.
Enjoy your sweet family today!
Love in Him,
holly
I love what your husband wrote about you in #12 and 19!! You two make such a great couple!
And I hate to admit it but, I'm right there with you on #20, being new to this whole tornado thing can be down right scary!
Oh, and #21! If you thought you were pregnant 75x's in 5 years, I must have thought it 150x's in 4 years ;D
Hope you have a great stress free day!
Blessings,
Suzi
awwwwwwwwww! that is so sweet...now I want my hubs to so that too! haha see how we girls are?!?!
My favorite is number 9! I wonder if your sister (or mother!) read that one!
:)
Wondering what you all will dress up for this year for FALLoween. I just made that up, but I'm sure someone else already has.
My son (a couple months younger than yours) is going to be a lobster. I can't wait!
Sweet sweet list! I too have tornado phobia, it's cool. :) Love this list, too cute! And kudos for getting your hubby to do it! :)
You both are adorable! #5. Toast and tea...yum. (I am not a coffee drinker either, there is this "specialty" tea made by Lipton called Vanilla Carmel Truffle, it is soooo goood!)
#21. I was exactly the same way before my hubs took care of that permenantly...I would buy pregnancy tests so often my honey almost wrote it into the budget! Honestly, just this month I had some soreness on a part of my body that usually is only sore during pregnancy and I said to him with a wink "Maybe I am pregnant!"
I just love how God has made women! We are all so different, but have such uncanny similarities. It is fun!
way to go, Curt!!!!
there was some major sweetness poured out.
How sweet that is! I laughed at #6 and #8. #9 was great!! I can totally relate to the phone alarm going of in another part of the house-- drives me crazy! This is a fun way to get to know someone new. It sounds like you two have so much fun together.
On a totally different note: Do you remember the "He is a Sausage" post when your mom was asking for stories on the LPM blog? That was my post about my daughter. Just wanted to let you know who this was!
Smiles,
Darlene
Good job, Curtis! I learned some things about Amanda!
that was just too sweet! i love when my hubby tucks me in too!
Love it sweet friend...it made me smile big time!!!
This is too sweet!
I SO have to show Luke this..I have begged him to be a guest blogger to no avail...
Being shown up by another preacher hubby may work though...:)
Amanda,
I don't have a blog (I probably should) and I am pretty much the lurker type. So, what that means is that I'm not up on blogging etiquette and whatever...BUT, I have been an occasional poster on the LP blog, love your mom and have enjoyed reading your blog as well. I just wanted to pass something along that I thought you'd like. It's a GodTube TREAT!!
You may have already seen it. If so you can just delete the post. Thanks!

I love #7 and I actually do that too!! I am so glad I am not the only one - hehe
#21 cracked me up b/c I have so done that to my husband even though we can no longer have children I still think I am pregnant all the time!!
#22 - Girl I am with you - I love wedding cake too!! I critique it like I am a food editor or something!!

I love #7....I too am a girl who MUST be tucked in by husband before I go to sleep!! He always rolls his eyes but after 5 years of marriage he knows it is just something he has to put up with :)
what a gret idea!!! i wonder if my husband would do that... i like that!! thanks for sharing!!
Aww! How sweet!Interesting to get HIS perspective!
That is so sweet! I don't know if my dear Hubby could come up with that many things to say about me! He must be a keeper!
Amanda,
I felt led to share something with you today. Back in Feb. I found the LPM blog by "accident" I was trying to find something else and did not know what a blog was so I clicked on it. I read the blog and it really spoke to and encouraged me. I had no idea then what an impact blogging would make in my life.
I started my own blog since so much of my family and friends live out of town. I wanted them to see God working in my life and to keep in touch with what the boys were doing. I have had friends and family contact me and tell me how much my blog has changed their lives (marriages saved, courage to do something God wanted of them, strength to be a better mom, closer relationship with God and much more ...).
However, I had no idea how much I would need all the siestas I had met to help me. I will be leading a Bible Study in the fall (which is a HUGE deal since I have a HUGE fear of public speaking) and all summer I have been under exteme attack. Last Monday I had an awful thing happen and I immediately went to my siestas and asked for prayer. They COVERED ME!! I get tears thinking about it. I truly was so close to pulling out of doing the study I was so terrified and felt so worthless but these women just lifted me up!! I told my husband I know now why God allowed me to find all this blogging stuff. It has encouraged me, strengthened me, made me laugh and made me cry!! God had a plan to work His will into the blog world - I just love Him!!
Hebrews 10:25 "And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another..."
Love ya siesta,
Kim
Amen to Kim!! Yeah God! Praise God for using YOU Amanda!!
I loved this post! I understand #8 a little more than I would like to admit to.
Aw, Curtis, you are awesome! I miss the Jones fam!
Love you guys!
Linda S
Curtis killed the dolphin...love that line!
What wonderful words from your husband. It shows his love for you.....
LOVED THIS, LOVED THIS, LOVED THIS!! Curt is so much fun. And I love how he knows his woman!!
I wanna copy you on this one. I already told Erin I wanted him to write a blog. Funny thing, he said OK immediatly! I thought, "Wow...that was fast. No needing to talk him into it!"
So you be looking now, you hear?!
Love you friend ♥
this blogland stuff is still producing some good fruit. I got to meet Shelly and some other bloggers that go to LPM in Atlanta today! Go God! That momma of yours was a fireball today and she brought glory to the Father. I have a pic of her from the conference today on my blog-o-la. So good! I am so grateful for your whole family and how you have ministered to me. :)
Curtis did a good job! I didn't realize what a big cake lover you were- I may have to bring you cake from Cretia's and I found a new cake place too, Busy B's Bakery.
Very sweet post and funny. I am a rules girl too so #9 is my favorite. Did Curt just bust Melissa? My husband would also say that I am guilty of #6.
Now I have to go check out willblogforshoes. Love this bloggy thing!
Thanks for an awesome post.
Last night on 290 while driving past the men's club with the palm trees, I knew this is the one Curt was talking about. Like palm trees are going to cover up the cars that are parked there.
Love wedding cake too!
awww, this made me miss my jr. high Amanda...I'm so happy you guys found eachother...look at the improvement over the guys we liked 15 years ago! love you sister!
