Noah's Ark

I should really be drying my hair right now, but the blog needs some attention. This will have to be quick or my hair will not dry and straighten into the right texture if I wait too long. Just call me risky.

Anywho, I took Jackson to this place called Noah's Ark pool today. It was our induction into a Houston-area classic. We were meeting Michelle and Fay and their kids. Fay is in town from North Texas this week. As soon as I got out of my car, I saw my girl Jenn H. getting out of her car with her boys. She was meeting another mutual friend. It was a current and former HFBC member extravaganza! There ended up being 7 of us there. And, ironically, some moms from my and Jenn's neighborhood (which is 30 min. away) were having a playdate and one of them approached me to ask if we were part of that group. They had no idea who we were, so it was totally a random guess that we lived in the same neighborhood. So weird.

Our friend Diana was there with her 20-month-old son who has been in swim lessons since January. He was absolutely amazing! He totally swam! She dropped a toy down in the water, and with very little help, he swam down and got it. Holy Cow. I am kicking myself for not getting Jackson in lessons last winter, but I guess we kind of had a lot going on.

Jackson fell asleep on the way home but by God's grace he still napped for me! It was a festivus miracle! So yeah, I should really be drying my hair.

I think that the pool is one of God's greatest blesssings in the summer... kids don't fight at the pool, they get excersize, they love the water, they eat a good lunch because they're starved, they don't fight (did I say that already) and then to top it all off, everyone comes home tired so they nap... Thank you Jesus for the pool!!!

It's 92 degrees in Colorado today. I am SO missing our pool (that is no longer there in Texas, due to mining lignite). Swim some for me!

Your hair is beautiful, by the way!

Have a marvelous weekend with your family, Amanda.

I thought I had taught you better when it comes to taking risks with your hair.

I hope your hair survived that critical moment and looked wonderful for you :)

What a fun time it sounds like you had at the water park! I love spending the day at the pool or park with my boys b/c they come back exhausted and ready for bed - aah - so nice :)

Have a blessed weekend

Hi...

You don't know me, but I was just checking out your blog (Marla Taviano tagged you in her post). I am looking forward to reading your blog as I think we have a lot in common (ministry wives, sons named Jackson, hobbies, etc. haha)... anyway- I am sure I will be blessed by your words. :-)

Have a beautiful weekend.

Whoa, had no idea a 20 month could do that! I've been impressed with Ava's "airplane arms" that she does when she pseudo floats. Man, I'll have to get her in swimming lessons early this next season!

I totally feel you on the "drying your hair before it gets all funky" thing. Ugh. Not fun.

Sounds like the pool was a blast!

Hope y'all have a great weekend!

Sounds like a great time. Some of our best memories are at the pool and they are always more enjoyable when friends are there.

Please explain the Charmin comment on your previous post. That's all I've ever used...should I switch? You have my interest peaked! Thanks!

Hope your hair turned out -- even with the chlorine! :-)

But look at it this way -- if it didn't, at least your blog is straight and smooth now.

This post brought back so many memories! Being that my "little boy" will be 17 years old in a few months - I have been remembering all the times we spent with friends when he was younger! I guess that scheduling all these college visits are causing me to become a little nostalgic! Enjoy this time....it goes by WAY TOO FAST! Much love to you!

A festivus for the rest of us. You crack me up, Amanda. And if you want to get into a Seinfeld quote battle, just look me up.

Have a blessed week!

Oh my goodness! I didn't know you could start swimming lessons that young! HOW AWESOME! Thanks for the tip! I'm going to look into classes for my baby girl when she's old enough...10 months is probably a tad too young just yet!

Prayers and blessings,
Rebecca

Hey, I just moved to Houston about 2 months ago and my boys (4 and 2) love Noah's Ark. The 4 year old asks often when we are going back!
