A Savior

Anna Nicole Smith Dead

My heart is grieving over this woman. I see a soul who ended up taking every destructive road in her life and I wonder what went wrong early on.

We do not have to succumb to the turmoil and insanity of this life. There is one, Jesus Christ, who offers hope for the self-destructive starlet, for the drug addict, for the sexually broken, for the abused, for the impoverished, for the person grieving the loss of a child, and for the lonely. No one is beyond His reach.

The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,
because the LORD has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of gladness
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the LORD
for the display of his splendor.
Isaiah 61:1-3

Amanda we couldn't be more with you...I was just fixing to right a blog on it..but I will just comment on yours...when someone with celebrity status slips off into eternity it should only cause those who believe in Christ to be more passionate about extending the kingdom to all peoples. To hear some of the stories of where she grew up in Mexia (small Texas town) being someone who didn't have much personality, stayed out of the attention of others, and didn't seem to have much of a future....and now...well we know the rest of the story...I pray today for every youth pastor and middle pastor that has students just like her in their midst...that they would embrace them...and they would encourage the students in their student ministry to reach students just like Ms. Smith used to be...

Jesus we pray for her daughter...that you would be ever so present...that you would bless her and extend your love to her today...send someone to show her the love of Christ...(a day care worker, a teacher, a bodyguard, a friend...someone please Jesus)...may this little girl break the chains that are against her family...

Have mercy oh Jesus!

Yes, thank you Amanda for bringing attention to this, and showing that verse. And Jerrell & Kay, thank you, we should all be praying that her little, precious baby girl will break the chains that have cursed her family.

And I also pray that the father of Danielynn, will be stunned into searching for the Eternal Father. And he will let Jesus take him under His shelter, and in turn, he will be the parent Danielynn needs.

So many thoughts flood my mind...

She was a woman on search for love. We are all there in some way. I heard a news anchor talking about her drug use as self medication. It has deeply saddened my heart to think about her death. There are many days I feel lonely. I guess in some small way I can relate to Anna. She became her character "Anna Nicole" to find favor in the eyes of this world. She needed favor from someone and she did not know better. Lack of knowledge.

I pray that the action of my heart will change because of Anna. I see girls like Anna almost daily...I pray that I would follow the spirit and love a little more.
